The real challenge of A dance of starlight is going to be writing a main character with my body type, and trying to make that ABUNDANTLY clear.
This kind od story always features skinny or lean n muscular women which is great but i want one that features fat people. The real challenge im gonna have is loving my body enough to write Rosemary with it in a positive way. She deserves her partners to love her stomach, her thighs, her hipdips and love handles and fat as much as mine love mine, and that requires loving my body enough to not shy away from her being a chubby woman.

LOVE failed chosen ones. Chosen ones who failed and chosen ones who aren’t special and never were and chosen ones by chance and chosen ones by a choice not their own and chosen ones who succeeded at what cost

genuinely one of my favourite details about Bram Stokers Dracula that isn't really transferred to the pop culture is that vampires have irridescent eyes, they appear brown at a glance, however when light is reflected on them they seem to go red!

Don’t forget to periodically cull the books you didn’t like, books that no longer interest you, books that have little or no personal value. Donate, sell, trade in or recycle to make room for better things. A library evolves, hopefully for the better. The goal shouldn’t be perpetual accumulation imo.

write for yourself. put your fantasies on paper. no one knows what you are writing. no one knows what's in your head. no one is going to write it for you. if you don't write down your ideas they will disappear. if you are too scared to write your thoughts then don't write, try something different. if writing is the only way, get to writing. no one else's opinion matters. no one else's opinion will ever matter

ways to start writing more efficiently
stop writing with the word count on!
use a font like comic sans -- trick your brain into thinking that it's not important, that the writing can be stupid, if it's in a stupid font (if you can't tell i despise comic sans)
time yourself to get to a goal
or give yourself a certain amount of time
quantity >> quality in the first draft(s)!
jot down what you want to happen in that chapter
try organizing your writing (nanowrimo, for example)
do *not* reread! it doesn't need to make sense, it just needs to be there
try not to stick yourself to something you saw on tumblr. what works for someone else doesn't necessarily work for you!
take breaks. time those breaks.
practice writing short stories / oneshots of your characters.
try getting all your writing done within a certain goal (as much as I can for 30 minutes) rather than writing 5 minutes on or off
write down every little wormy idea that comes into your brain! sure, it's probably for a different plot, but maybe you can work it in somehow?
on that note, mash elements of your plots together rather than starting a whole new story
see maybe what little writing competitions you can submit your work to
proclaim your goal to the wide web for some peer pressure
rewards yourself. cheer on every thousand-word milestone. brag to your friends that you've written something, anything.
don't think of the big goal—don't think of publishing, or posting, etc. think of the end of your chapter, the development of your character, where it goes.
switch your writing environment! where are you most productive?
make a playlist only for when you write. never for anything else.
getting off tumblr, probably.
have people remind you of your goals.
remember that it all comes with discipline, but also your mental health is the most important!! don't sacrifice half your sleep to meet your nanowrimo goals. try to recognize when it's taking you too long and close the document. do something else. come back later.
take care of yourself. <3 use this post as a breather (or reminder to start!)

Reading a Terry Pratchett book is literally just: Here's a funny little joke Here's something that you can tell is a joke but don't get and will only figure out five years later Here's a surprisingly cool fantasy concept Here's a unique and well written simile Here's a lil guy Here's something that has aged depressingly well into the modern day Here's something that has aged remarkably queer into the modern day Here's a character that you can barely understand what he's saying Here is the most terrifying and deeply disturbing concept you have ever heard, casually mentioned Here is the dumbest fucking pun you've ever heard but in the best way Here is a quote so profound that it makes you view morality and the world in a different way Here is a plot twist that you can't tell if it's genius or stupid Congratulations! You've finished the book! It has fundamentally changed you as a person and you will never be the same!

I literally looked it up because I wanted to know specifics and
Platonic (adj): (of love or friendship) intimate and affectionate but not sexual
Y'all are literally describing platonic relationships!!! Platonic doesn't mean boring or simple or unfeeling!!! Intimate AND affectionate but not sexual!!! It's RIGHT THERE
"these characters' relationship is just too weird to be platonic" "they can't be Just Friends they're way too weird" "they may not be dating but whatever they have going on is way too weird to be platonic" i'm starting to think none of you guys know what 'platonic' means tbh. anyways, skill issue.
