Because my silly girl deserves some badass tech, here's some stuff about my girl Fao's unique exotics, The Parallax Principle and Fox Teeth.
THE PARALLAX PRINCIPLE - Gauntlets
The principle of the matter is that if you leave them seeing double, they won't notice if you shoot once.
Double Blind
When you go invisible leave behind a decoy lasting up to ten seconds that distracts enemies and draws their fire.
If the decoy is destroyed by enemy fire before leaving invisibility, replenish health and ability energy.
FOX TEETH - Bow, Void
“The way I see it, an arrow's just a really far knife."
Bite Through Bone
Precision kills grant Bite Force stacks, which increase damage on the next shot. This stacks up to five times for triple damage on the fifth shot. This effect resets after the sixth shot or the weapon is stowed.
"I mean I don't think I'm the person to speak on the morality of murder," Faolan mused, looking up at Orestes, who was trotting at her heels like a loyal dog.
"No you totally are. You do it so much, you clearly have a nuanced take," he argued, looking down at her.
Faolan paused, lazily flipping a knife over her hand. "...Murder OK when no other option present."
Orestes nodded sagely. "Wise words, my liege. Wise words."
Ulysses is not a great person, and I think that’s the thing that I really need to make clear when I’m writing Reign of Rift. He’s a complicated character, he has very justifiable, moral reasons for doing what he does but he also did just kill an innocent child, because like- revenge. He’s insane! Like he’s a good person now. But Lord Odysseus Ashford of the Rift was not a good guy and test. He was a man with good intentions, going about it in an incredibly violent way.
Which makes sense. Because he was fighting a war and he was the only man on this front but like he did not have to go that hard.
Man who says shit like “they will tear my body asunder at dawn, for my sins are unforgivable and my soul is heavy with guilt.” when you ask him what his weekend plans are
Big fan of the specific dynamic of Sacrifical Platonic devotion. Of course I love you. Of course I would die for you. Of course I would kill for you. Of course I will stand by your side as the stars burn out and the worlds crumble to ashes. Of course I will be with you even when you stray. Of course I will hold you close as it all burns down. Because what else would I do? You’re my friend. I’ll burn it all down if it means you stay warm.
hai i recently had a Conflict Moment that most of the writing I do about Faolan centers around everyone else in her life (namely Ulysses) and how they percive her and then got checked so hard with the oh yea its because she is literally defined in her entirety by those around her.
