My dad said I should "get a real job" and not pursue art. But if Trump is firing cancer researchers, I might as well follow my dreams.Changing the pfp eventually hopefully it'll annoy me enough to draw one.

they are barring wikipedia. they are barring spotify. they are barring important news - both national news and world news. they are barring mental health forums and LGBTQ related things and so much more. this is not about protecting children, it has never been about protecting children.
the online safety act is an insane privacy breach, and if that does not scare you then you need to think harder about it. it is going to end up in a massive data leak - all the information is getting collected by random third party systems. can we trust them? no. can we even hold them accountable? no. because the government couldn’t even make their own system to do these age checks.
and i hear you - it is important that kids don’t see porn. but even if all this was about protecting kids, it’s sloppy and useless. it’s easy (for now) to get around with a vpn and the only thing the act doing is censoring things that it shouldnt. if the government wanted to protect kids, they would do something concrete about it - they would be putting more funding into education, for example.
of course the policy isnt called “national surveillance”. they’re not going to call it that. everything will be hidden behind things that people want.
so email your MP, and tell other people that this is WAY more than blocking porn from children - this is the first step towards national surveillance.

My fellow Americans, they want to enforce this on us too. Call your senators. These laws are about control and corporate greed. A cursory glance at our nation's recently passed laws and actions will inform you that these people do not care about the safety of children. This is about control. Don't let them tread on you. Not to fearmonger, but many communities would be devastated by this lack of anonymity. Furries, kpop stans, artists, nsfw artists, musicians, bloggers, youtubers, weirdcore, all of you are at risk of losing the ability to express yourselves. We have a right to internet safety. We have a right to privacy. And do you really think that actual predators wouldn't take the opportunity to hack us and learn our government IDs, our routines, our preferences, via this act? Hell, data leaks happen all the time. Your whole identity could be leaked on accident. We are being put in danger instead of teaching kids basic internet safety and conduct. We are being censored instead of making spaces online specifically for kids like those Papa's pizzeria games.
Support our friends in Europe if you can and let's protect our internet freedoms.
Reading the new checks that might come in due to the Online Safety Act in the UK and this is actually bullshit

And how will I prove my age?
There’s a number of methods a site or app might use to ask you to confirm your age. They might do this check themselves or use another company to do the check. These methods include:
Facial age estimation – you show your face via photo or video, and technology analyses it to estimate your age.
Open banking – you give permission for the age-check service to securely access information from your bank about whether you are over 18. The age-check service then confirms this with the site or app.
Digital identity services – these include digital identity wallets, which can securely store and share information which proves your age in a digital format.
Credit card age checks – you provide your credit card details and a payment processor checks if the card is valid. As you must be over 18 to obtain a credit card this shows you are over 18.
Email-based age estimation – you provide your email address, and technology analyses other online services where it has been used – such as banking or utility providers - to estimate your age.
Mobile network operator age checks – you give your permission for an age-check service to confirm whether or not your mobile phone number has age filters applied to it. If there are no restrictions, this confirms you are over 18.
Photo-ID matching – this is similar to a check when you show a document. For example, you upload an image of a document that shows your face and age, and an image of yourself at the same time – these are compared to confirm if the document is yours.

Not only is this such a fucking breach of privacy, but this is going to hurt adults in vulnerable and abusive situations. Some adults don’t have bank accounts or credit cards or even a fucking phone. I’m one of them. I could not give half of this information even if I wanted to. What the fuck is this. Fuck the UK government. This isn’t going to protect kids, this is just going to hurt adults, and I know full well when they say “sites that allow pornography” they’re going to be going after sites that have huge amounts of queer content, like tumblr and Ao3. Queer kids are gonna lose their fucking communities because of this shit. Abuse victims are going to lose online support systems because of this.
I’m genuinely fucked off about this, and worried about whether I’m going to lose every single one of my online friends. Anyone in the UK, please email your MP and sign this petition. It needs to reach 100k signatures to pass through Parliament.
I’m only hoping the backlash will be big enough for them to stop implementing these measures.

Some advice
Disclaimer: This has nothing to do with my personal life nor current drama it's just something I'm thinking about. My best advice for interpersonal relationships in general is to not focus on what your people are not doing. Focus on what is actually being done. You can take note of lack but don't focus on it.
Millions of people don't drink, smoke, hit their spouses, don't cheat, don't buy gifts, don't game, don't read, don't fly like Superman, don't practice alchemy, don't portal to different realities. Good or bad, what someone does not do is not what distinguishes them from anyone else.
People in your circle are distinguished by what they do and how you feel about it. Sure, your new partner doesn't smoke or hit you but you STILL know they're being flirtatious with others when you're out even though you've said it makes you uncomfortable so what does it matter if they don't smoke? There are millions of other people who don't smoke, that doesn't make him automatically a better partner than someone who does smoke. It's still bad, you should not discount his bad actions just because he doesn't do another bad action.
Similarly, if you're watching a lot of tiktoks where these people get elaborate gifts from their partners and you're like "Well my partner hasn't done that," a lot of other people ALSO have not bought you elaborate expensive gifts, like your parents, your friends, your coworkers, the strangers that pass you on the street and so on. Are we going to hold it against them? Nope. So why hold the lack of action against your partner? Why not focus instead on what have they done? If it's nothing then yeah you should probably leave them. If it's small things, maybe that's all they could do. If it's big things you didn't want, maybe talk to them about that. If your friend gossips about you, focus on that instead of how they "haven't left you yet" or whatever. If your friend steals from you, focus on that instead of how they don't bully you in front of others. If your friend has always been there for you, who cares that they haven't achieved your idea of success?
Focusing on what people haven't done is kind of like comparing them to a hypothetical version that hasn't even come into existence. Relationships built on hypotheticals cannot last because they are not based in reality. I suppose my point is overall don't focus on the hypothetical versions of people but it's much easier to get to that point by starting out with negative (as in lack, not bad) action.
So similarly, you can't date someone because they "might" be rich "later on" because they ARE NOT rich now. Also that still kind of makes you a gold digger because you are STILL dating based on economic status and it isn't even an economic status based in reality. Also this applies to your intra personal relationship as well. YOU CAN NOT JUDGE YOURSELF BASED ON WHAT YOU HAVE NOT DONE! You didn't go to college, okay, cool. What does that have to do with your current tangible version of yourself? Do you want to go to college? Bring that into reality. Don't beat yourself up about it, you're bullying yourself based on something you never did. You can't do it? Okay, then it's not worth thinking about.
To contextualize how silly this line of thinking is, you also haven't shot lasers out of your eyes. Are you going to lament or praise that? No? Because it's not possible? How do you know the other crap is? It never happened. You might have been rejected from every college.
Obviously this is not a blanket statement bc there are things like prevention and in that case focusing on what you prevented is important. But like focus on what people are instead of what they are not is my point. If you disagree, please explain, I like learning.

Have you considered buying breakaway glass? Like what movies use as props? I have considered it but it sounds pretty expensive as far as habits go. I mean you could also learn to make like fragile edible stuff to destroy like caramels or other hard candies. You just need sugar or brown sugar and you could probably safely break those if you'd like. IDK it's a thought.
I swear, if I don't lock in, there's going to be some major injuries on my skull really soon (non lethal, don't worry about it)...
Please brain, work with me...

If you make new applicants make an account for someone to apply
You waste my time, you collect my information, you don't even pay me to do your silly little tests, your otiose forums or even the account chicanery you make me undergo every time I try to fill a minimum wage position. Does it feel good making me fill out forums for free while you can't be bothered to send an original rejection email not sent from ChatGPT? I have been going through this for months being pulled every which way and for what? To lose my mind in a job????

It's so much easier to blame people for their tragedies because if you admit that the world is flawed you realize that all those bad things can be inflicted on you

That or termites on those million dollar properties and I may be stupid for saying this but how the fuck does a house cost a 100 million dollars? that bitch better bring people back from the dead or some shit for that price.
