Rereading book 1 of kotlc is so insane like tell me why Mr. Forkle rescues two 12 year olds (he was gonna leave one behind) after they were kidnapped and sedated/drugged for 10 days with no food or water (lowk his fault) and then just leaves them somewhere they've never been before and tells them if they can't figure out how to get back within a few DAYS he might come back to help

it's actually so important to me how jerejean are slowly getting used to each other's touch without it ever being a huge and dramatic thing. like the way jeremy is constantly tugging at jean's hands to stop him from hurting himself. or the way jean is always grabbing jeremy's chin to get him to listen/to make a point. the way jeremy hugs jean in tsc. the way jean effortlessly takes jeremy's weight to help him off the court after he injures himself and it's not a big deal to have him pressed so close that way. the way jeremy folds his hand over jean's fingers and squeezes when he hands him back the nickel in the car after picking him up from rhemann's house. the way jean immediately latches onto jeremy's wrist so he doesn't lose him in the crowd on 4th of july and then feels comfortable enough to tap out his list against jeremy's wrist. the way jean literally ghosts his mouth over jeremy's cheek leaning down to talk into his ear during the fireworks. the way jean feels comfortable enough to lean over jeremy on the bed in the hotel before the banquet. the way jean lends a hand to lift jeremy up off the floor after their first night sleeping in the new apartment. and the way jeremy did the same for jean when he asked to go for a run in tsc. i just feel like nora is beautifully setting them up in a way that when they do eventually cross that line into sexual intimacy it'll be not easier, but perhaps less daunting. because for jean especially if he starts to spiral or panic he could tell himself it's just jeremy. he knows his weight pressed into his side as he's held him up, he knows the feel of jeremy's hands in his or on his wrist, hell he even knows his scent. it doesn't have to be scary because it's just jeremy and jean knows him. he's familiar. he's gentle. he's safe.

I was thinking, and.. what if the original Council, instead of having gemstones, were assigned one of the prime sources? The sun, moon, and starlight

So..

And all of the prime sources are stated that ‘The sources unite without fighting to take control’, which is probably what the Council was meant to be when it was first made

I'm rereading the series rn and I'm only on book one cuz lol but I thought of this post and I actually don't think Shannon forgot. From my perspective Sophie already IS a keeper. They store all of this information inside her head that gets "unlocked," especially secrets that have either been forgotten or only shared with the Council. As the story progresses, she is slowly unraveling all of the "forgotten" secrets of elvin history and the world (think Vespera's torture chamber or whatever, bringing the Neverseen and Black Swan to the forefront, Elysian, etc). The series is named that because Sophie is a Keeper, not for the Council though but for the Lost Cities themselves.

Anyone else feel like Shannon forgot abt the whole keeper side plot (should it even be called a side plot atp??) like in the first book Quintin or wtv his name is (I kinda forgot 😭) mentioned that Sophie could be the most powerful keeper and then it was never mentioned again i mean yeah something was said in stellarlune abt Sophie potentially being a keeper for the councillors but either way I feel like way more should’ve been done with that especially because ITS THE NAME OF THE SERIES
