Some new promotional posters for the Oogie Boogie Bash this year -- the downside is, people have pointed out that it looks AI-generated, as the hands on Mickey, Hades, and Doofenschmirtz have either an incorrect amount of fingers, or look 'off'.

Not really surprised they would potentially do this, but upset considering this is the first Oogie Boogie Bash without Ken Page, and I would hope this event could properly commemorate his legacy as a beloved Disney villain. </3

Summary: After winning the battle to save the Scare Floor, Rapunzel takes it upon herself to convince Oogie Boogie to join the Guardians. Working with an unpredictable personality akin to chance, she decides she must go with Oogie’s flow and beat him at his game to do so.

I know that I wanted to do "Malleus and Ramshackle" first, but for some reason, that wip did not want to fly for my brain, so I'm just trying to get the groove back in my writing and see where it takes me. This has been in my wip for months.

For the prompt "Distract You To Win", I was playing Disney Mirrorverse at the time with Oogie's chapter and I got fascinated with Rapunzel as well due to her going off on her own to battle and have some character study. I thought, "Huh? What if Rapunzel had a hand of Oogie becoming a guardian?" So I went with a prompt of Rapunzel beating Oogie at his game. I chose a game that Rapunzel would most likely play which worked out because while developing Oogie's bugs, I made a headcanon that Oogie's purple spider is the only one who cares and plays Chess. This one shot is the result. I admit that it might be a little OOC, but I figured given the scenario and that Disney Mirrorverse is technically an AU to begin with, I let it slide.

I just want to say that it's almost been a year since they discontinued Mirrorverse and I still miss it with its flaws and all. The character interactions were the best and it really had potential. Rapunzel and Oogie wouldn't be best friends per say, but I like the idea while Rapunzel still finds Oogie scary and disgusting, she's able to make friends just like the patrons at Snuggly Duckling.

I hope you all enjoy this one and that more Mirrorverse fics will come.

Guys are we gonna acknowledge how much oogie boogie was being manipulated in the battle for the pumpkin king? Edgar is obviously using oogie boogie to try to keep his rule because from what I’ve seen oogie is easily manipulated by people promising to give him things he wants and we see that oogie listens to whatever Edgar says he knows that Jack is kind and smarter than oogie so he doesn’t want him to win because he would most likely take charge instead of Edgar

Still, if Tim didn’t write the poem, then we wouldn’t have a marvelous movie. I now have a love-hate relationship with stores having the Halloween and Christmas inventory out early. Because that’s how the poem came to existence.

I hope it's as annoying as the 30+ years Henry Selick spent where he heard the vast majority calling the film he directed for 3+ years a "Tim Burton movie". I hope it's as annoying as the times he had to listen to people thanking Burton for Nightmare and calling him a "genius" for it. I hope it's as annoying as Disney was when they slapped Tim Burton's name in the title only 3 weeks before the movie came out to market it. I hope it's as annoying as Henry Selick watching people call Coraline a "Tim Burton movie" because they heard it was from the same director as The Nightmare Before Christmas.

I hope it's that annoying.

Villains inspired by Cab Calloway my beloved:

Like honestly, these villains have the most entertaining personalities and gimmicks/themes I've seen.

I love how even though they share the same inspiration, they each have unique character designs.

Note Oogie is the oldest villain here, so when you think about it, he's like the blueprint for Dr. Facilier and King Dice.

(I mean they literally took two pieces of the theming from Oogie and split it amongst King Dice and Dr. Facilier)

Dude was so good at being bad, he set the bar in the little 15 minutes of screen time he had.
