A brave little warrior headed into battle

 to face the evil scum.

“Your skin will rend and your bones will rattle,”

they said, “and you shall surely succumb!”

But he didn’t falter, he didn’t prattle; 

he knew why he had come!

He grabbed his lantern by the handle,

with no need for sword or gun.

The light he carried in hand and heart then shone and dazzled,

driving the evil back from where it had come!

Here’s something I did for The Happy Newspaper’s next issue, which also happens to be the One Year Anniversary! This is such a wonderful project that I’ve been so excited and honored to do work for over the last year. It’s filled with oodles of good things going on in the world right now, things that we all need to hear to add counterweight to all of the trouble and worry of the world we live in.
