NMJ Final Project  Mastery Journal
In my final course of New Media Journalism Final Project, I knew the objective was to write a thesis for my capstone project. I was not expecting it to be at this caliber level! The first week, we immediately began with the introduction and the literature analysis. It was a bit of a struggle for me because some things came up out of my control, but I was able to work things out and get something to my professor for a grade. I believe this course met my original objective with creating the thesis and breaking down how the project was created and the research it entailed.
I learned so much during this class especially when it came to time management and meeting the requirements for assignments as well as the deadline. I struggled a little in the beginning but I believe I did my best to execute good work on time. I also learned how to formulate a paper in APA style a little better and format citations which can also be challenging to do.
I believe that I will apply all that I have learned from this class both personally and professionally. I know that APA style writing is on a graduate and professional level and that is something that I will be able to use when I decide to go back to school for my PH.D in the future. I am grateful and thankful for once again completing another level of college that I thought I would never be able to do in my life. I am proud to be an alumni twice from Full Sail University and hope to make an impression on the world from the tools, skills and passion that I have gained while attending especially during such a sensitive time.

Public Relations and Reputation Management Mastery Journal
In my Public Relations and Reputation Management class, the course exceeded my expectations in regards to the original objectives set for this month’s class. This class helped me cultivate my networking and writing abilities on social media platforms as well as revamping my website page to create more traffic for my target audience. One of my favorite assignments was revamping my “About Me” page and creating a video introducing myself.
The most challenging assignment from this class was creating an article that promotes a non-profit organization for my “beat” or target audience. The challenging thing about it was finding an organization with reliable and current information and one that would be easy to persuade my audience to support and buy into. Overall, I believe I did a good job with researching viable sources and using the proper tone to relate to my audience. This course stimulated my thinking in regards to researching and making sure that my sources were current and relevant to the topic that I chose.
I appreciated the flexibility throughout the course and how my course instructor, John Reneski, allowed us to “be ourselves” in a sense with our discussions, coursework and assignments. He gave clear instruction but stressed to make the work our own and hone in on our originality. I believe that I will apply all that I have learned from this course professionally as I am pursuing my career as an educator as well as photography on the side. These tools have helped my tremendously with my confidence on camera as well as through social media platforms.
I am elated and relieved that I am so close to finishing the Master’s program for New Media Journalism at Full Sail University. I plan to use all that I have attained during this very challenging time with the many changes that have taken course within the last year.

Cinematography in Multimedia
As a new Cinematographer, this class really helped me sharpen my social media and writing skills. In this course, I learned a lot about being intentional with the content you post as well as researching potential leads to cool stories and articles. I also learned how to properly interview companies and Experts  who have vital information. Another thing that was really fun was learning about infographics; I never knew that would be a vital key to content. Moving forward, I plan to continue perfecting my writing and create more articles as well as Infographics. I also will do more with creating content for social media and building a solid following. I belive my biggest take away from this class was learning how to find creativity in every detail in life and my surroundings.

While taking the Research and Investigation Skills Development course, my learning goals were to cultivate my research skills, build my investigative skills and to learn how to report and journalize content professionally. My expectations of this course were very high as I had already taken a previous course from Dr. Carstens. He is very serious about turning work in on time, grammatical and error free as well as well written. I expected to perform extensive research and conduct interviews in a journalistic setting in order to incorporate my future degree in New Media Journalism.
Throughout the course, I learned multiple objections and skills while interacting with my fellow peers via discussions and responses. I learned how to interview and depict between what interviews were good and bad. One of my favorite assignments were creating the infographic to be an additional media source to support my article that I wrote on one of my favored videographers. Lastly, one of my first assignments that was a bit challenging for me was obtaining public records on a subject matter of my choice. First, I had to get further explanation as to what a public record actually was and how can I obtain a public record.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this class and had so many things to take away from this course. I believe that I have a bit more confidence when conducting an interview, creating content for my website and also creating different types of infographics to condense information in a creative way. I am looking forward to learning many more things and hope to apply them professionally.
