they met at the university of washington in seattle in 1923- both new to mainland usa. toshi's brother liked to host parties and kiwi was a friend of his. they stumbled into each other, both a bit tipsy, and practically fell head over heels. at the same time.

satoshi wasn't the most confident person when they met, but kiwi thought the little jokes he cracked under his breath were hysterical. the more she laughed, the more it got to his head. now he's loud. he is so loud. and he is her favorite person in the entire damn world

kiwi's favorite song is billie holiday's 1938 rendition of You Go To My Head. she likes slower jazz numbers with thoughtful and romantic lyrics because they're great for staring wistfully across the living room at your husband when he's not looking.

her usual routine only demands weekly shampooing (not a bi-daily routine then like it is now) and regular conditioning. straightening her hair usually leads to more frizz than anything else- too much effort in her opinion!

unrelated i used to go through my india ink markers super super fast in jr high and high school because i drew CONSTANTLY with them in my sketchbooks during class and whenever they'd run out of ink i had to refill them right. but i wasn't sure how to go about it without spilling ink everywhere so i asked my dad (dialysis nurse with access to medical tools) if i could get a syringe and he brought home a pre sterilized packaged syringe WITH THE NEEDLE ATTACHMENT because he couldn't get a hold of one without the needle attachment so when my friends came over they saw my ink needle setup and thought i was doing heroin. is any of this illegal by the way
