I cannot express how much I actually hate Chat GPT and how absolutely fucking stupid people are. What do you mean you’re surprised? If you’re comfortable talking to AI you have absolutely spent enough time on any social media site to know that algorithms and tracking your searching so they can offer you ads tailored to you among other things and that’s only what we’re aware of. You are literally using a device with ALL OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION ON IT to talk to AI. What did you think was going to happen? Have you never googled yourself or someone else? Any of your information can be obtained by anyone, anywhere at anytime if they know where to look. But an AI - the thing that is LITERALLY A MACHINE - is the big surprise? Bro, open your fucking eyes and take a single second to think for yourself.

I have type 2 Narcolepsy. Studies have shown that serious viral infections can cause people to develop Narcolepsy if they are already genetically susceptible to having it. This includes covid. That is what happened to me.

I am all for immersion in fanfic by using accurate terminology, slang/language and speech markers or anything else that falls under that umbrella. But is it just me or is it hard when reading something and explicit language is traded for whatever would be used in universe as opposed to something I’m used to using/reading/hearing?

A direct example would be in Star Wars.

Kark/Kriff/Frag = fuck

I completely understand wanting the immersion, but sometimes it almost seems to break it more than it keeps it? I’m working on writing a Star Wars Jedi: Survivor fanfic and during my writing I’ve automatically been using real world vs lore accurate versions or occasionally mixing the two.

In the end I’m mainly writing the fic for myself, but I want to be able to share it with others and hopefully have them enjoy it and I have concerns that by not using only lore accurate terminology it will make it harder for people to enjoy.

Some examples of how it appears in what I’m writing:

“Oh sure, telling Saw to go fuck himself definitely isn’t imperative.” Gabs scoffed, with a roll of her eyes.
