One of my favorite spreads I drew for the Morphological Diversity in Pokemon Species Vol 2. zine a while back, featuring my favorite Eeveelutions, Espeon and Umbreon.
The book is out of print now, so I’m formatting my pages for posting so that everyone can enjoy. If you’d like to purchase a digital copy and see all the other great Pokemon variants that other artists came up with, you can do so here.
More to come soon!
EDIT: Limited prints of this image are available as 12x18″ posters!! Online Shop

Sure!
Tip 1 : Don’t.
Tip 2 : Kidding. But seriously though- Morgrem are a handful to rear, even for the most understanding and caring people. I really do not recommend capturing one until you’re confident in your skills as a Pokemon Trainer.
Morgrem can and will try your patience- they’re hardwired to challenge authority, and will coax you into a fury if they can, purely because it amuses them.
They’re the midway evolution of the Impidimp line- the definition of a moody teenager- and they’re still learning how to temper themselves. They’re headstrong and snippy and aren’t too keen on taking orders from those that haven’t earned their respect.
Every Morgrem wants to be the ‘leader’ of their own pack, which means challenging anyone and anything to prove themselves. They’ll use dirty tricks to get their way if they have to- pranks, thievery, and even bouts of Fake Tears are common for the species, so if you’re wanting to train one, you’ll need to learn the difference between your Morgrem actually being in distress and them purely seeking attention.
Tumblr media
As general advice:
-Morgrem are moody, that much is true- but you should never reprimand them harshly. They themselves are struggling to understand why they’re acting out- for them, it’s instinctive, and their new body has likely confused them. Their poor attitude will fade as they near their second evolution. In the meanwhile, gentle correction of their behavior works best, coupled with positive reinforcement.
-Morgrem crave sugars and sweet foods. They grow quickly, and will seek out any kind of candies or treats they can get their hands on just for a bit of energy. Make sure your Morgrem eats a balanced diet, and that they don’t gorge themselves on empty calories. It’s recommended not to give them anything high in sucrose or fructose past midnight, or else they might not sleep well.
-Your Morgrem’s hair will need to be brushed at least thrice a week, until they learn to care for it themselves. Any standard comb or brush will work fine, combined with a mild dry shampoo. It’s important to start a steady grooming regime early on, as their final evolution will need it. Most Morgrem have little issue in having their hair brushed- some even fall asleep during grooming. However, if your Morgrem fidgets or refuses to be combed, a careful application of Sweet Scent can lull them into obedience.
-If your Morgrem repeatedly disrespects your authority and shows no improvement, there’s always the option to wrestle them yourself. It’s not the best solution, but they’re small enough to grapple with little risk of injury to a human. It’s been proven that Morgrem that have lost a fight are less likely to challenge their opponent in the future. Remember to grab them by the hair first, if you do attempt this, and be careful never to use excessive force- grappling should be light and playful, so you don’t damage your Pokemon’s trust in you.
-Invest in purchasing a small safe. Morgrems are curious little stickyfingers who will snatch anything not bolted down. A safe for your wallet and keys is a lifesaver if you’ve got a Morgrem in your home.
-Never leave two Morgrem alone in the same room. The second they’re out of sight of their handlers they will challenge each other- and because they have no concept of actual surrender, you might return to a rather gruesome scene.

Grimmsnarl are surprisingly decent caretakers, with older individuals exhibiting an almost paternal-like care towards young Pokemon, especially those of their own evolutionary line.
While Morgrem can be somewhat volatile if their temper is ill, Grimmsnarl aren’t  considered aggressive so long as their territory isn’t directly encroached upon, and even then, they often give a warning call prior to attacking. The fear and revulsion around Grimmsnarls in Galar likely stems from their less-than-lovable facial features and their reclusive natures, which has caused a great many unflattering myth involving the Impidimp line to blossom.
They’re a very misunderstood species of Pokemon, and research is still ongoing regarding their habits and just where exactly Impidimp come from. Hopefully, in time, careful study will shed light on this species, to better our knowledge of the Pokemon world.
As a note, though Grimmsnarl themselves aren’t exceptionally aggressive unless approached, it’s doubly unwise to approach a wild grimm that’s carrying young Pokemon on its back- They’re viciously protective of their wards and will defend them from any perceived threat with even greater ferocity than normally displayed.
It’s advised not to wander too far into the depths of Glimwood Tangle in order to avoid stumbling onto such an encounter, and measures have already been taken to prevent novice trainers from getting lost in the woods on the way to Ballonlea.

Carefully, and with an incredible amount of patience!
Tumblr media
If you’re quiet- and I mean, extremely quiet, you can sometimes catch glimpses of Hatterene groups living peacefully within Glimwood Tangle.
While we tend to think of Hatterene as solitary Pokemon due to their dislike of noise or psychic impulses, adults actually tend to cluster together in communal bands of 3 to 5 individuals. These close-knit packs of Hatterene carve out territories in Glimwood in order to raise their young in relative peace, often helping one-another with maternal duties and taking turns guarding each other’s offspring.
Hatterene, for the most part, are surprisingly gentle when it comes to rearing their own children- They’ve been seen gathering berries and other foraged foods to feed their young, often hand-feeding the smallest of their flock until they’re able to themselves.
Unsurprisingly, as a Psychic-type, Hatterene are strong empaths who care greatly for their young, and, in turn, their young imprint on their parent almost immediately. Hatenna and Hattrem rarely wander away from their mother unless watched after by another trusted Hatterene- in fact, children of this line rarely leave their parent’s side by choice, and most Hatenna and Hattrem that are found by trainers are usually only alone because their nest was previously disturbed and they were unable to locate their siblings/mother.
[Worth noting; It’s common for bands of Hatterene to contain at least one elderly individual in charge of grooming the Hatenna and Hattrem; in return, this elder is also given food by the younger Hatterene in the group. They’re one of the few Pokemon lines that care for old, feeble individuals- ain’t that neat?]
Hatterene, bizarrely, have also been observed to ‘employ’ other Pokemon as babysitters- often at the threat of death, a Hatterene will force another Pokemon to look after their brood for a short amount of time. This usually only occurs if the Hatterene can find no companion of its own species, though it’s certainly one of the more peculiar behaviors of this Pokemon line.
