    ❝ maybe once i actually see some sort of demon i’ll accept it. until then, you’re just gonna have to deal with me thinking it’s all bs. ❞ and now that she knew it bothered kieran, she was probably going to be extra loud about how much she didn’t believe in any supernatural. why it even bothered the other girl she couldn’t even guess. sure, she was very opinionated, but it didn’t seem to bother anyone else in the squad. god, kieran was on her last nerve already. she would be lucky if billie didn’t attack her before the demons. ❝ again, i came here to spend time with my friends and see how beautiful norway was. it isn’t like we’re going to be locked in some room, solely investigating supernatural. get the stick out of your butt. ❞  

    There were so many curse words and mean things going through Kieran’s brain at the moment. She was so annoyed that it felt like her blood was boiling. She didn’t want Billie there. It would have been a better trip without her-- or so Kieran liked to tell herself. “Get the stick out of my ass? Really?” She scoffed. “Maybe I would be able to if there wasn’t some fake bitch here, leeching off the rest of us.”

Sometimes it does things just because it can.” Kimberly looked at the brunette and shrugged. “But sure lets hope and think positively. “ Kimberly wasn’t afraid for much. “I put my things in my agenda on my phone.” She chuckled. “Organization, Kieran.” She told her in a sing-song way. “Thanks.” She chuckled. “It’s lighter than most of me animations but still rather sad. I think you’ve seen it. I don’t know have you?” She smiled. “it’s called Shelter. Original song and everything.  “ 

    “Jesus fucking Christ Kimberly. Lighten up a little bit.” Kieran pushed some of her hair out of her face. “You’re basically asking to be murdered or possessed with that attitude.” She leaned back in her chair. As excited as Kieran was for the trip, she knew that there was danger involved. She knew they were dipping their toes into a risky situation. Hearing someone be so sure that something bad would happen to them put a knot in her stomach. Maybe changing the subject wouldn’t be a bad idea. “Did you put it up on your channel? It sounds really familiar.” She grabbed another nacho off the plate. “Whether I’ve seen it or not, I’m sure it’s phenomenal and worth a win for sure.”

Most just want to cause pain, Kieran. “ She hummed as she took another piece of nacho from her plate as she listened to the other talk and lightly laughed. “Well, you have to be careful. People do always try to hack you. Write your passwords down on your phone. “ She smiled as she took the water bottle and took a drink from it. “Me? Hmm, lets see.  I guess just getting more music out there and doing more short films. One of them actually got nominated in the film festival this summer. I’m excited for it.” 

    “I’m trying to think positively here, Kimmy!” She laughed. “I feel like positive energy should help ward off evil or something like that. It sounds like something that would work, at least in like a movie or something.” She shrugged. Kieran didn’t want to be hurt. She knew there was the possibility of it happening, whether it was by something supernatural or just by something out in the forest in general. Of course no one did. But she was more worried about being mangled and living through it it than actually dying. “I feel like the only way to keep anyone from finding anything is just to never put anything important on my electronic shit.” She shook her head, sighing. Then, at the mention of Kim’s short film, she sat up in her seat. “Oh my god! That’s so dope! That’s so fucking cool dude. I’m so pumped for you. Is it one I’ve seen? If not, I need to see it like, ASAP.”

Looking away for a moment, Terrell resettled himself into his chair again. He had already gone too far and he wouldn’t be able to avoid this conversation anymore. “Look… meeting Billie is the best thing to ever happen to me. She’s beautiful, and smart, and funny, and kind, and one of the best people you’ll ever meet.” He stated, before readjusting in his seat again, being extremely uncomfortable with admitting where the conversation was going to go. “And I… I think I’m getting feelings for her. It started out as just a joke cause our fans shipped us but… I really do think I like her. In that way.”

    Regardless of how she felt about Billie, Kieran loved gossip. She was incredibly nosy. In the past she would try to play it cool and pretend that she wasn’t. But enough people knew her well enough to know that she was always wanting to hear about other people’s business. She couldn’t deny it anymore. She was also a sucker for romance, and relationships. So now that Terrell was telling her this, she couldn’t help but block out how she felt about Billie and focus on his own situation, not hers. 

    “Okay well first of all,” She started, “You guys are hella close and everybody knows that. And I’m pretty sure she hell has a crush on you. Like, from a girl’s perspective? It seems like she does, just from watching videos of you guys together.” She flipped some of her hair over her shoulder. “People ship you for a reason. You guys have good chemistry and the fans are good at picking up on that. It’s not like always the case that people who get shipped together actually like each other, obviously, but it does happen. I feel like you’re probably worrying too much.”

“She never did anything to hurt you. She never tried to use you. I know you think she did, but honestly, she never did.” Terrell honestly had no idea how to get through to the younger woman. He wished he could, as he knew how much it was stressing out the woman he was interested in, but he wasn’t sure how to make things better for either of them. “I just… it doesn’t matter, okay? I’m probably making a mistake by trying to do what i want to do but… I dunno. I have to take the chance.” He stated simply, realizing that he knew that he had no reason to tell her any of this, but he felt he needed to get it out.

    She let out a loud and heavy sigh. “Okay well now you’ve made it sound like you’re about to make a horrible decision and regardless of how I feel about Billie, I can’t watch you set yourself up for failure like you clearly think you’re doing." Kieran knew that trying to get him to open up about whatever he was talking about after pretty much attacking him and his friendship with Billie wasn’t really the best idea. It made zero sense, but so did most of the decisions Kieran made. “What are you talking about? And don’t say nothing. Because you obviously need to talk about it if you’re bringing it up to me, of all fucking people.”

At the sudden outburst of scorn and vitriol at his best friend, Terrell instantly sat straight up. He had been doing his absolute best to be a mediator between the two women, but he wasn’t the type of person who could sit back and let someone attack his best friend and him. “Can you just back off for a second? Where the hell is this even coming from? You attacked her out of nowhere because she had stayed up late the night before a couple videos. That’s being fake. She’s been by my side through thick and thin. I’ve been here for her as well. That’s truth. That’s loyalty. She’s my best friend. And I feel terrible because I might jeopardize that soon but… that’s the cost of loyalty. But what would you know about loyalty?”

    “How is it fake to not want to put up with someone using you? It’s fake now to stand up for yourself? Is that how this works now? Okay, cool.” She rolled her eyes. Kieran had completely and utterly convinced herself that she had truly been wronged. She believed that Billie had been using her, that she hadn’t really been a friend at all and that her motives had been strictly selfish. She was very good at convincing herself of things, regardless of their true validity. “What the fuck are you talking about, jeopardizing your friendship? She clearly doesn’t mean that much to you if you’re willing to do some bullshit that’s gonna risk your ‘precious’ friendship.”

’ true. but devil’s forest has a certain ring to it. ’ his low voice sounds tired, almost unfocused or uncaring. it was like he was born with two settings, passionate insurgent or lethargic traveler. it didn’t mean, however, that he wasn’t thinking on similar lines as the other, to the way her body felt pressed against his or the warmth of her skin. slowly, he pushed himself up from the couch, long limbs hanging lazily by his side. ‘ do we want to look it up or do we want to get lost ? ’

    “Let’s just go get lost.” She stood up as he did. “And if we get too tired wandering around then you can just give me a piggy back ride until we make it back to the hotel.” Kieran grinned widely. She headed towards the door of the hotel room and down the hall to the elevator. As they waited to get to the lobby, she leaned back against the wall of the elevator and looked up at him. “So, since this is supposed to be our scariest and most dangerous location yet, does that mean you’re prepared to protect me if anything goes wrong?” She lifted a hand to grab a strand of her hair, playing with it as she talked. “I mean, I can usually take care of myself but it wouldn’t hurt to have a big strong man like yourself at my side.”
