Killing Clint Barton, Chapter 11
Who here has seen a moose? Great. Let's pretend, for the sake argument, that you haven't. Awesome.
Winterhawk (eventually), Major Character Death (obviously), Darkly Funny (hopefully), written for @killacharacterbingo , posting as a WIP but I promise it'll wrap up when the pool closes for the summer.
Excerpt:
“I’m not leaving you in the loop!” “Nah, it’s fine,” says Clint, waving his hand. “If I can get you out, then maybe I can figure how to get me out. Or maybe you can figure it out from the other side. You can be my Al! Either way, you’re the priority here.” “That’s insane.” Clint gives him a look, gesturing around them, as if to say, What about this isn’t insane? Bucky sighs and rubs his head. “Fine. What is your brilliant plan to get me out of the loop?” “Easy,” says Clint. “Kill me.” “What? No!” “You know you want to!” says Clint in a sing-song.
I mean, he kinda does, Clint's not entirely wrong. Read the chapter on AO3.

„Picking From a Different Challenge/Event” prompt how does that work ?
Search out another writing challenge/event that you like (if you aren't part of any other writing challenges already) and, as long as the other challenge is fine with this (be that stated in the rules, clarified by admin, or whatever), pick a prompt from that other challenge and write a death inspired by it.

Nursery Rhyme
A nursery rhyme is a traditional poem, usually simple as it is geared towards children. Many nursery rhymes have dark origins, since they were created during dark and hard times.
This prompt refers to any ideas inspired by or derived from nursery rhymes (be they from the real world or from a piece of fiction), as well as any storylines that could fit in with the general requirements of a nursery rhyme as made up by the author.

Cordyceps
Cordyceps are a genus of fungi, of which many are parasitic. While cordyceps has some medicinal uses, it is most commonly known for being the "zombie fungus."
For parasitic cordyceps, their sole concern is their propagation. They will infect an insect host, usually an ant, and for a period of time give no symptoms (after all, ants who are detected to be sick are kicked from the colony, which would make it harder for cordyceps to propagate). Once symptoms begin, the infected ant has its nervous system overtaken by the cordyceps. Its brain is notably left untouched, meaning the ant is essentially held hostage within its own body.
It will be forced to move to a moist area ideal for the growth of cordyceps, bite into the vein of a leaf, and wait for death. In the meantime, the cordyceps will feed on the host's innards. Once it is dead, its body will be used to propagate more cordyceps spores, infecting more ants.
At any given point in time, only a few ants in a colony will be affected. The goal of cordyceps isn't to overtake as many hosts as possible. Rather, to reproduce itself while maintaining balance in its ecosystem. Without balance, its ecosystem could be threatened and that, in turn, would put the fungi in jeopardy.
A cordyceps infection is 100% lethal.
Cordyceps have been used in fiction (for instance, in The Last Of Us) as a means of explaining a zombie apocalypse. For the purpose of this prompt, you may use cordyceps in any way you like, with any number of hosts, and as much or as little scientific accuracy as desired. If, instead of using cordyceps, one prefers to use another, similar element that behaves in a similar fashion (fantastic/sci-fi or otherwise), it would fall under this prompt too.

Killing Clint Barton, Chapter 10
I promise no one gets eaten in this chapter.
Winterhawk (eventually), Major Character Death (obviously), Darkly Funny (hopefully), written for @killacharacterbingo , posting as a WIP but I promise it'll wrap up when the pool closes for the summer.
Excerpt:
“What d’you think’s gonna happen when we catch up to him anyway?” asks Bucky. “Maybe he saves you from… I dunno, what’s gonna kill you out here? A rampaging squirrel or something?” Clint barks a laugh. “A poisonous cloud of pollen?” “Death by sunburn.” “A completely random lightning bolt,” says Clint cheerfully. “Teutonic shift,” says Bucky. “Which results in a crack so you fall into the center of the earth.” “You read Jules Verne?” “Of course I read Jules Verne. Plotted out the route Stevie and I were gonna take around the world, even.” “How long would it have taken you?” “Less than eighty days, but Stevie insisted on breaks so’s we could see the sights.” Clint barked out a laugh. “Coulson gave up yelling at me for eating the local shit whenever I was on assignment. You get salmonella from a street vendor one time.” Bucky groans. “Yeah, let’s leave that method off the list, please. I ain’t cleaning up after that.” “Not much fun for me, either,” says Clint wryly. It’s quiet for a moment; Bucky listens to the sound of the grass crunching under their feet; the birds singing on the far edges of the meadow. The cool breeze ruffling his hair. “Does it hurt?” says Bucky finally. “What?” “When you die. Does it hurt?”
Read Clint's surprisingly thoughtful answer on AO3.

Killing Clint Barton, Chapter 9
I apologize in advance for what will hopefully be the creepiest chapter in this story. (No promises, though; there's at least five squares where I'm clueless what to do.)
Winterhawk (eventually), Major Character Death (obviously), Darkly Funny (hopefully), written for @killacharacterbingo , posting as a WIP but I promise it'll wrap up when the pool closes for the summer.
Excerpt:
There’s a choking sound, but that’s all. “Holy shit,” whispers Clint. “Did that guy just kill him?” “Yeah,” says Bucky tonelessly. Not that he saw. But he recognizes the sound of it, the gurgle of blood in a throat. There’s something quiet about the kill, though, something eerie and unusual. Something not right. “And none of the rest of them even—?” says Clint, his voice shaking. That’s it. None of the rest of them. “How many?” asks Bucky. “Five,” says Clint. They’d watched one friend kill another… and none of them had said a word in protest.
Hey, anyone hungry? Awesome. Head to AO3.

Killing Clint Barton, Chapter 8
Happy belated Steve Rogers birthday! If I'd been really thinking ahead, I would have killed Clint with fireworks (it's one of my squares); sadly, I am not thinking ahead. Much. (Also, I have other plans for the fireworks.)
Winterhawk (eventually), Major Character Death (obviously), Darkly Funny (hopefully), written for @killacharacterbingo , posting as a WIP but I promise it'll wrap up when the pool closes for the summer.
Excerpt:
“Well, that didn’t—are you sitting on top of me?” splutters Clint. “So the way I see it, your way isn’t working out too well,” says Bucky casually, cleaning his nails with the knife he found in his pocket. “It’s working fine,” says Clint, grumpy as he shoves at Bucky’s legs, which are draped over Clint’s chest. They don’t move. “Get off me.” “If your way was working,” says Bucky, “I wouldn’t have had to watch you die by puppy and we wouldn’t be sitting in a basement bunker in Siberia in 1958.” Clint stops shoving. “Shit.”
Bucky takes charge (kinda) on AO3.

Killing Clint Barton, Chapter 6
Sun's out, guns out! Or arrows. Or bows. Whatever, it's hot out here, people. New chapter of my @killacharacterbingo fic!
Winterhawk (eventually), Major Character Death (obviously), Darkly Funny (hopefully), posting as a WIP but I promise it'll wrap up when the pool closes for the summer.
Excerpt:
It happens fast. One minute Barton is talking and throwing back his coffee and taking a bite of his own apple. The next minute his face is turning red and he drops the mug on the sofa and he’s reaching for his throat, choking… Bucky moves fast, spins him around, wraps his arms around Barton’s chest and pulls. A chunk of apple flies right out of his mouth, lands with a plop on the coffee table. Lucky gives it a cursory sniff, then ignores it to flop back on the couch. “Shit,” swears Barton, rubbing his chest. “What the fuck did you do that for?”
Yeah, Buck, stop trying to save Clint's life already, sheesh. Someone might think you actually like the guy.

Killing Clint Barton, Chapter 5
It's sunny and warm: die, Clint, die. It's a new chapter of my @killacharacterbingo fic!
Winterhawk (eventually), Major Character Death (obviously), Darkly Funny (hopefully), posting as a WIP but I promise it'll wrap up when the pool closes for the summer.
Excerpt:
Barton sits up next to him; Bucky’s only vaguely aware of the man touching his stomach gently, before standing up. “Okay,” he says, voice strange and bright. “So. Let’s figure out where—” “You goddamn fucking idiot!” growls Bucky, and flings himself at Barton, knocking him straight to the floor again. “Did you actually fucking kill yourself on purpose, you absolute moron? Why the hell did you shove me out of the way? I could have stopped that damn bullet without it killing anyone! Did you forget I have a metal hand?” Barton stares, slack-jawed, at Barnes, who holds his hand up at him, mouth tight and royally pissed. “You remember?” says Barton, utterly dumbfounded. “You died right in front of me!” yells Bucky. “Your blood was in my mouth, of course I fucking remember!” “You do remember!” yells Barton, delighted, reaching out and pulling Bucky into an impromptu hug. “Oh my God, this is fantastic, I can’t believe it, I have been so fucking lonely—” “Get off of me, you lunatic!” yells Bucky. “What the fuck is going on!”
Find out why I've had Imagine Dragons' "Radioactive" stuck in my head all week long.

Can you explain the you have to kill the same character for every prompt on your card?
Lets say I wanna kill Bucky Barnes for prompt Car crash? I couldnt kill Clint Barton for another prompt like poison?
Is it one card per character?
Exactly. It is one card per character. If you kill Bucky Barnes for Car crash, you have to kill him too for Poison, and for any other prompt on your card. Same character. 25 times.
You aren't obligated to write a fic/chapter for every prompt. If there's a prompt you got that you just don't like/don't have an idea for/don't want to write, you don't have to. Primarily this is about having fun. A blackout card isn't mandatory. You can write for as many or as little prompts as you want, but all of them must be about the same character.
Negotiations available with admin on our discord. However, negotiations generally revolve around specific interpretations of prompts, maybe an exception to one prompt as a whole. Having multiple characters in the same card is non-negotiable, as it goes against the spirit of the challenge.
