went to the theatre cafe in london the other day, and not to be overdramatic but it’s the best place in the world probably. they have amazing memorabilia on the walls (inc. the broomstick from the first london performances of wicked, omg) and play showtunes all the time and the wifi code is stagey24601 which sums it up really.
if you’re ever in london, GO - it’s on shaftesbury avenue opposite queens theatre (les mis).

As much as I love WWRY and I mean love, I really agree with a lot of this.
Fuck me it’s exhausting when a piece of media hits multiple NOPEs at once.
I just got back from watching We Will Rock You and I’m pissed as a woman, a storyteller, a queer person, AND a millennial. Like, holy cow people, could we maybe stagger this shit a little better next time??

God I hate it when you can SEE female characters being aggressively shoehorned into a romance based solely on Their Assigned Role As Love Interest.
Never mind their personality up until that point – never mind the fact they’ve LITERALLY been written to receive every overture of romance with bafflement or downright fucking discomfort – the time has come for the hero to Have His Girl and by jove he will!
The worst part about this? Most of the audience will just fucking take it. We’ve been trained so long and so well to just accept that this is how shit goes, that any critical thought into believable character motivations is all but short circuited.
I’m so, so SICK of watching engaging, intelligent female characters all but place their personalities into nondescript boxes and set them aside when the moment for Requisite Romantic Culmination hits. The Padmé Amidala’s and the Scaramouche’s deserve fucking better okay, and I sure as hell do too.

She sighed and put her phone down. "I'm sorry. But /who/ are you?" She asked. "I don't remember asking you to come over here." She said pointedly.

“Waiting for a text or something?” Liddy asked when the woman returned. She’d noticed her checking her phone or whatever, and that was a feeling that the young, curly haired woman kw all too well.

Killer Queen blinked slowly and then shook her head. "It's a bit unprofessional, isn't it?" She asked and shifted away from her, discreetly. She took a drink of her coffee seeing if the girl would leave her alone.

She looked up from her phone. "I guess you could say that." She said and put it away before examining her odd choice of clothing.

Be the villain you were born to be. Stop waiting for someone to come along and corrupt you. Succumb to the darkness yourself.

She ate and then took out her communicator to check her emails. Killer Queen got up and asked for a new coffee, as hers had already gone cold.
She Sings The Revolution/ Closed: Whatsy& Killer Queen
She wrapped her hands around the cup, enjoying the warmth, and began to sip it. Looking around she could see that most of the patrons weren’t looking at her anymore, at least, not directly. They were sneakng glances out of the corners of their eyes, honestly believing that they were being discreet. She chuckled softly at that and shook her head. People were delusional, but, it was entertaining. She continued to look around, hoping for something interesting to catch her eye.

She looked around for a moment before going to the counter to get a coffee. She leaned over and looked at what they had, taking something to eat before going to an empty table without paying.

The cafe was a bit of a hot spot in the city. Good coffee, and central to everything.
It also happened to be where the Queen went to cool off if someone pissed her off at work. Sometimes the officers' ignorance was unbearable, and she had to get away from the building. Killer Queen walked into the cafe alone as usual. While it was normally a near crime to dress differently then the others, no one said a word against her when she did with her high heels and leather suit.

The wait staff eyed her with distaste. One of the waitresses brought her the coffee, carelessly dropping the cup before her. "Anything else?" She asked out of obligation, and nothing else. She tapped her foot once- twice. Before leaving without an answer.

Liddy’s blood was still pumping quickly, adrenaline coursing through her veins as she stopped inside the first coffee shop she came to and turned to look out the window at the grimy town. The crowd out there was dying down now, posters and signs and banners from the protest that had just ended littering the ground and the last police cars driving off toward their precincts. Things had gotten a bit wild, as they often did with the underbelly, and rioting had broken out.
She’d been one of the first to see the patrol cars pulling up, but, had decided to hang around for as long as should could and absorb the energy around her, breathe it in and feel it thrum and buzz inside of her body. Finally, she’d dashed, deciding it was best to avoid arrest this time.
She turned away from the window after several minutes, aware of patrons’ eyes on her. She knew exactly what they were thinking. Good for nothing, trouble maker, dirty punk. She didn’t care. Maybe it was true. Or maybe they were missing out on who she really was. Either way, she’d soak up the extra attention.
She strolled lazily over to the counter, her hot pink Doc Marten boots thudding against the tile floor, and paid for a coffee before occupying a table near the center of the room.

She nodded curtly and followed her. "And you. So when did you move here?"
“What?”
