you don’t have to participate in all the prompts. you can post something for one of the days, or two, or six! it’s up to you and how inspired/motivated you are.

and you can do both things: you can post on tumblr and contribute to the ao3 collection. the ao3 collection is there as a way to make finding all the kingdon week fics posted to ao3 easier. and tagging this account on a tumblr post ensures we can reblog it. it’s up to you how you share your fic but we’d love to have it on our ao3 collection and our tumblr page both!

i do not. i'm not sure i would be able to keep up with the work of maintaining it but i do know there's probably many creators there who would love to participate in this event.

is it too late to change the prompts? feels like it's more adaptive to fics

the first prompt of each day has been selected to act as the challenge for gif makers/video editors/artists.

prompts like colors, scenes, and minimalism are pretty self-explanatory and we believe they work well for visual mediums and are pretty easy to follow.

the prompts of summer, innovation, love, and mixed media are broader so that every creator can interpret them in whatever way works best for them.

summer could, for example, refer to drawing fanart about mel and langdon going to the beach, or making a gifset with lyrics from a song that refers to summer months.

innovation can inspire creators to use a technique they've never used before, like new transitions in videos.

the love prompt could be fulfilled by creating a gifset about love languages, or drawing mel and langdon kissing, or adding hearts to a video edit.

and mixed media means someone could incorporate book quotes into their gifset, or draw mel and langdon watching tv, or make a video edit with voice overs from famous romantic comedies.

the prompts are meant to inspire so there really is a lot of freedom to play with them and make them work for you. but we really believe there is a lot that can be done with them!

can we enter already written / published works if they fall within the theme?

the goal of this event is to encourage writers and other artists to create new kingdon works, so unfortunately already published works don't count towards the event.

if you have an already written story that you haven't published yet, maybe you can wait to post it until june 2nd - june 8th. in that case we would accept it as a fic created for the event!

hello! so excited for this week and already drafting stuff! (and thanks for the hard work of organizing it!) -- will there be an associated challenge/collection on ao3? I only post my fic there, so trying to figure out the best way to participate :)

no one is obligated to add their fics to it if they do not want to do it, but it would be super special if we could collect them all together there throughout the week <3

from june 2nd to june 8th we are celebrating kingdon (mel king/frank langdon) and everything we love about them, individually and together ♡

you can participate by writing fics, making gifsets, editing videos, drawing fanart, creating playlists, posting meta,... basically anything and everything you can think of as long as it centers around mel and langdon, and their relationship to each other.

every day has two prompts that are meant to inspire and motivate creators. they are just guidelines and can be interpreted as literally or as loosely as you want. so have fun with them and be creative!

this event is predominantly to celebrate kingdon romantically, but we also accept creations that focus on their friendship if there's a pre-relationship aspect to it or if there's romantic undertones to it.

there is no minimum or maximum word count for fics created for this event.

nsfw and explicit creations are allowed for this event. please make sure you tag these creations appropriately in whatever platforms you're using (tumblr, ao3, etc)
