I was walking through the toy aisle at Target when I found this thing and had a VIOLENT AND IMMEDIATE FLASHBACK to when JP first came out and they had a bunch of REALLY COOL T Rex toys that I would have sold one of my scrawny small-child limbs for but my mother wouldn’t get me one because they were “too violent and also ate people” :(

Okay so I have a question- do guys who work in retail get creepy people hitting on them too? Or is that strictly a female problem?

Sorry, I still don´t understand Tumblr. Apologies for repeating myself.
I´d like to add too, that maybe the reason why Scorpia is kind of in the middle of being mistreated and being "tolerated" is because the Horde is now where her kingdom used to be. She mentioned before that her father welcomed the Horde and thus the reason for her to be Force Captain.
Also, that may be the reason Shadow Weaver couldn´t stand Catra even when she was a child. Thinking something like: "this lowly creature wants to be friends with my best traineé" and then forcing that way of thinking on the other children. Or maybe Magicats tried very hard to fight Horde while they were arriving, but were exterminated and Catra was taken as a war prize, something to show off Horde´s destructive power. Scorpions were submissive so Horde decided not to kill them, I guess (?). We don´t know if Scorpia´s father is alive after all.
Or maybe is an Etherian thing. Even princesses seem to be affected by this way of thinking (Scorpia explaining that she didn´t feel welcomed with the other princesses). Maybe hybrids or full anthropomorphic animals are perceived as inferior, wild and stupid, thus not fit for ruling and unworthy of attention and friendship. That would explain why Scorpions were so kind or easily accepted Horde presence while others kingdom were against it. Perhaps Hordak promised full integration/understanding and they fell for his trap.
Catra thoughts
You know how everyone in the Fright zone treated Catra like Adora’s pet/sidekick? I personally think that that comes from a place of racism.
Catra is treated like a pet, and shes feline in nature. She’s hated by everyone for no good reason and shes the only one who looks like that. You can say its because she slacked off and is “disrespectful”, but remember that that is a learned defense mechanism. She was a child once, and wasnt always like that.
Remember how Scorpia said she was treated differently for the way she looked by the princesses? And doesnt appear to have any friends (Catra aside) despite being so sweet and friendly? That’s the same situation, and Catra knows it. Remember her “how dare they treat you like that just because you’re different!” rant? Yeah, me too.
I just think its shifty that the cat girl is treated like a pet, and I really do think that it’s because of her race.

My friend, there's a lot going on w/ Adora I think you missed. The Horde (& trauma from it) is still very much part of her. She constantly struggles w/ anxiety, worries she's not good enough & blames herself when anything goes wrong. She's incapable of relaxing & always on edge, has has limited social skills, thinks in tactical terms & tries to plan everything to perfection. She gets triggered by the mere possibility of Shadow Weaver's presence & treats Angella like a commanding officer.
Hey, thank you a lot for your answer and sorry for the late reply. I agree, she shows signs of anxiety,  and obviously has social skills problems, however, I believe it is not showed enough.
As I said before, you´re right, her incapacity of relaxation, her constant struggle for perfectionism and tactical thinking ARE sequels from the Horde (and thank you a lot for pointing them), but, as I mentioned before on my post, she was indoctrinated, and she lived in a cult/military confinement, there should be a lot more of psychological sequels (signs of PTSD, depression, extreme longing, weird coping mechanisms, and overall indoctrinated thoughts f.e /princesses eat people, don´t trust them that much/) and I don´t want 5 minutes of literal explanation from the writers, but more details on her behavior. I´m basing these statements on real-life soldiers, those who´d seen war, they suffer a lot for years of psychological sequels, and those are soldiers that went voluntarily and didn´t spend all of their lives being soldiers, so can you imagine how many struggles a person living since near birth on a cult/military confinement that recently discovered that there´s a world out there would face?
Adora is an amazing character, but I feel her development is incomplete or a least rushed (?) in some sense. Maybe the writers could not show us a lot more due to 24 min per episode and it´s comprehensible, but, I have my doubts since we know A LOT more about Catra´s issues than Adora´s, and is usually shown in so little time.
And now that I´m ranting again (sorry), I have so many problems with Adora just accepting She-ra and leaving her whole life behind without a second thought (but now that I think more about it, it shows that Adora usually behaves on pure instinct XD)
Tumblr media
(I´ve spent like 15 minutes looking for a meme that represented how bad I have it for a kid´s show, but since I´m so bad at them… here´s a cat)
