In Another Life

Has this been done already? Anyway, this is very much an unfinished and messy sketch, but I had an idea and I just had to get it out.

My inspiration first came from this JC Leyendecker(icon) piece, and because I'm suffering from Phantom of the Opera brainrot, I immediately thought of Erik.
Then, upon looking for examples of what his mother might've worn during the 1830-1840s in France, I stumbled upon this lovely portrait of a woman named Countess Ada Lovelace. And after browsing her Wikipedia(expert researcher here lol) and seeing how incredibly intelligent, passionate, and ambitious she was, I just knew she would be a perfect insert as Erik's mother. Now, I'm pretty sure she never even stepped foot in France, but I think the timeline matches close enough for when she became a mother and when Erik would've been a child, and that's good enough for me lol
I'm no Leyendecker, so I'll probably never actually finish this but if anyone feels inspired to do a finished piece based on this idea or something similar, please do! Just make sure to tag me in it cause I want to see! I need to see this man's inner child healed!!!!! 😭😭

James Hume & Holly-Anne Hull, Phantom of the Opera 2022
A few things about James Hume that I feel compelled to say:
Did he...smile a little after the ring return?!? My heart is hurting.
He does a signature "hand on heart" thing that I couldn't quite capture well in gifs, but it convinces me his Erik did not live long after that final lair.
I wish so badly he could've played the role more. Between him and James Gant, he is not James the Lesser. I said what I said!

AI industry groups are urging an appeals court to block what they say is the largest copyright class action ever certified. They’ve warned that a single lawsuit raised by three authors over Anthropic’s AI training now threatens to “financially ruin” the entire AI industry if up to 7 million claimants end up joining the litigation and forcing a settlement.

I never make claims about "the best" but after much consideration I've broken my own rule and have come to the conclusion that '06 Earl Carpenter was the best Phantom kisser IMO. I have no further comments at this time and will not be taking questions.

Not sure if I'm allowed to do this (so someone tell me if I need to trash this post) but I just can't witness this Anthony Warlow near-hand touch and not do something about it.

Favorite Final Lairs
Peter Karrie & Elizabeth DeGrazia, Phantom of the Opera 1998
Hard to find a more unhinged final lair than this one. It is a serious emotional roller coaster, but there are so many Karrie things that are just uniquely...Karrie. Watching the way he moves as Erik is like looking at a masterclass in immersion.

As the school year starts, I beg yall to check out one of my favorite charities DonorsChoose.
It’s a website where teachers specifically list items they need for the upcoming school year, you can see these items and their price, and you can donate however much (or little) you want. The items in their list are shipped directly to the teachers.
You can also specifically filter campaigns by historically underfunded schools, by grade, by topic, by supplies, etc. There’s also campaigns where your donations are matched, meaning if you give $3, $6 will actually be sent by someone else matching your donation.
If you have even a few dollars to spare and you’re angry how little teachers are paid, I recommend just looking at the site or sharing it with friends.
By the way, I discovered this website through the TedTalk “How America’s public schools keep kids in poverty” by Kandice Sumner which I highly recommend watching.
