I love that TPCI is doing an official fantasy team competition this year

I did this way too early and have some second thoughts now with the card picks, but it's still fun

If TPCi keeps heading down the road they're heading down, there's literally no point in swinging for a World's invite. They've killed locals by forcing sanctioned events to take place in stores that sell the TCG (who have historically not wanted anything to do with VGC and won't work with VGC locals at all) and made World's pay-to-play by changing the qualifier to a top percentile (top 75 in NA.....!!!) instead of a point cap. It's so disappointing. The game has grown so much in recent years and they just put a massive paywall in place, especially for VGC. Now either you can afford to travel to multiple regionals and international challenges, or you are SOL.

TPCi just screwed the pooch. :))

Looks like they're forcing VG locals to be run at local game and hobby stores now. You know, the places that historically want nothing to do with VG or Go because we're not buying cards. So essentially, the local I've been going to either needs to change locations if it gets lucky enough to find a store willing to host, or it's just gonna die.

I hate it, here.

The stars of this month's MSS/PC

There were only 5 (mss) / 4 (pc) players this month and I still only managed to "top 4" both (we basically all ended up with the same w/l record lol), but hey, points are points lol. Feel pretty good about how I played tonight at least, especially with how unprepared I felt and how little practice I had gotten

Thinking about next year, if I want to try for an actual worlds run or just keep doing this for fun... guess it depends where they're going to host it next year?
