Chapter Two
Now that Denki was trying to change, he found it even more difficult to focus in class. He knew that if he wanted to improve his close combat skills, he was going to need a teacher, aka actual teaching instruction, because he was not about to train with Bakugou and Kirishima just to get slapped around like a ragdoll.
But, the only instructor that came to mind was Aizawa Sensei, because he was the teacher he was the most familiar with, but when he actually thought about it, Aizawa knew how to fight without relying on a physical quirk. Even the amount of people he saw sensei fight at the USJ was enough all on its own to want him specifically to teach him.
So, Denki waited until the end of the school day to talk to Aizawa. Normally, he wouldn’t volunteer himself for extra classes and such, but just like everyone else in his class, he wanted to be a hero. He wanted to be someone other people could count on, someone people could respect. So, he calmed the pounding of his heart, and once everyone left the classroom, walked up to Aizawa’s desk, “Aizawa sensei, can I train with you to help me improve my combat skills?”

Taking Charge Chapter One
“Your letter came!” Denki’s mom hollered from across the house.
“Really! Ok coming!” Denki hopped from his desk chair and sprinted to the kitchen, grabbing his letter immediately and heading back to his room.
“Wait hunny, do I get to see if you got in?” Mom stood there expectantly with her hands on her hip.
“Moooooom, I already told you that I want to open it by myself. You’ve gotta wait.”
“Fine, but I better hear from you soon.”
“Alright, alright.” Denki closed the door in his room and made himself comfortable on his bed, clutching the letter as if it held the moon and stars. He tore open the letter and began to read from the top of the page.
Denki’s screech scared the bejeebers out of his mom, “I got in! I GOT IN!” He ran out of his room and gave his mom a hug.
“I’m so proud of you,” their celebrations interrupted by a door slamming open.
“What’s all this damn racket.” Denki’s father stared daggers into his wife and child.
“I got into UA.” Father ripped the letter out of his hands and read it.
“Barely from the looks of it.”
“Dad, you don’t know how many people apply to UA. I still beat out a lot.”
Father rolled his eyes, shoving the letter back at his son, “I’ll let you live out this pipe dream of yours, but you’ll soon realize that you need an actual job.” He stomped off, leaving back to his office.
Denki’s breaths became uneven as he left to go back to working on his homework.
