Joseph Christian Leyendecker (1874-1951) • Advertisement for Arrow collars and shirts (Cluett, Peabody & Co. Inc.) • c. 1918
"The Arrow Collar Man" was the name given to the trade character portrayed by various models. This particular model was Charles Beech, the long-time partner of J.C. Leyendecker. He modeled extensively for Leyendecker's ads in the early decades of the 20th century. Not exclusively for Arrow shirts but also for other products such as Interwoven socks and several covers of prominent magazines.
