The End In Sight
As the semester comes to a close and I begin to reflect on all that I have learned I have home to realize that I have gain more than I initially thought I would. I absolutely loved the Venables textbook and plan to share it with my school in hopes of implementing some of the ideas used in the text within the data meetings we already have.
Although I would have loved to work with some other people in the course throughout the semester I did see a benefit in keeping groups consistent. My only wish would have been to have place us in groups based on our content area. I think that we would have been able to find better tools and resources team-wide that would have supported the implementation plan.
Overall I found this class to be interesting and see the benefit of using the Venables text as a tool for analyzing data.

Data Meeting 5
Data Meeting 5 was a refreshing change. It was great to get to work with another person from a different team. I think it gave me the opportunity to deeply look at my own teams SMART goals and consider things that we could have done differently and things that we did really well. The only real tricky part was that we only had a week this time to complete the data meeting and presentation. This shorter time line was a bit difficult but I think that we handled it well and work efficiently to complete the work.
For my presentation I decided to use Keynote again.Keynote is the built Mac presentation software. I was easily able to record the presentation and save it as a movie to upload to Youtube. I will definitely continue to use Keynote for my presentations.

Data Meeting 4
This data meeting went well overall. I really loved that her table gave a concrete example of what she wanted to see. This really helped to clarify the directions and lead to far less confusion.
I found it very easy to find resources that aligned with the standard and would help my students accomplish the SMART goals I set for them.
I used the program Visme to create the presentation. This was a new software and I found it hard to navigate for my purposes. Inserting the table was very hard and I ended up having to just take a screenshot of the table and break it into two pages. While I don’t love the look of this I think it serves the purpose.

Data Meeting 3
Also known as direction confusion. This data meeting was a bit frustrating to say the least. My team and I tried our best and even used Venables to help fill out the provided charts but overall there was a lot of confusion. While we did end up getting support and clearing up some of our confusion I think a sample table or sample SMART goals could have helped eliminate some of our confusions.
I used Keynote for the presentation and found it to be incredibly easy to step up and use. I liked how easy it was to modify as well as record. I will definitely use Keynote again soon.

Live Chat
Tumblr media
Getting into live chats has been much harder than I anticipated. Many chats I have planned to attend are not occurring happening because of summer vacation.

Data Meeting 2 Reflection
Data meeting 2 went very well. I feel like my team and I are starting to get the hang of what needs to be done. A few days before our live meeting we picked that we would use my standards and objectives since I am the only one in our group who is currently teaching.
I selected a lesson plan, from an observation lesson I have previously done involving this standard. I also shared an exit ticket that connected with the standard.
Everyone at this meeting seemed very clear on expectations and were prepared. This helped move the meeting along and allowed us to focus on picking an exploratory question that would help many of our struggling students.
LeVita and Louis worked on a timeline calendar and data for the exit ticket.

Teamwork makes the dream work--Data Meeting 1
Tumblr media
This data discussion went very well. Having everything all in a central data folder made it easy to view each other’s data and ask either other questions and discuss the data. I also really liked collaborating on the google slide presentation using the instant message feature. It made it really easy to collaborate and allowed all group members to participate and have their voices be heard and valued.
One area where I struggled was with the data itself. While I’m very used to conducting and participating in data meetings, using this data was a bit of a struggle. Since I didn’t actually teach the lessons, it was hard to truly gauge how my students performed and why and where some of their struggles came from. This data also didn’t show me some or any of the modifications that were provided, specifically for students with IEPs and ELLs.
