OKAY so. some updates

Ive returned the mollies, they were starving out my shrimp and snails, HOWEVER i do have stocking plan for my 29 gallon

Stocking:

10x Pseudomugil gertrudae

1x Male plakat Betta

6x Black kuhlis (may change to a smaller shoal of diff bottom dwellers like a shoal of 4 corys)

?x Cherry shrimp

2x Amano shrimp

4x Mystery snails

GOALS!!

these turd birds are very comfortable with my hand now, i wish i angled the camera better cause i was able to lift them with ease a smidgen above the water and they just sat there

did some maintenance today. trimmed the moss, took out some salvinia (and the bladder snails that were in them), trimmed the tiger lotus so i can force a bushier appearance

last night i got the new 29 out of its box and have it temporarily on my clothing chest till my new stand comes in

once my stand comes in ill be reorganizing my room to get rid of a large shelf i have to make room for my bed and its frame. after that ill be scaping the tank with some tan sand and fluval stratum. i found a really nice piece of driftwood the other day so i gotta camp out at my parents house and boil/clean the hell out of it so i can use it for my scaping. i have rocks and more driftwood coming in soon along with filter media bags for hills, aquarium safe glue, and a few other things

im sticking to my original idea of very low tech full walstad where i have just a heater and an airstone for circulation

got my liquid gh/kh tests in today turns out ive got too little gh in my tank so i went ahead and added some shrimp salt (and fertilizer for the plants) to try and get that up. i started this tank out with VERY soft water- im talking 0s in everything because my parents filtration system takes it all out- so its been a bit tedious getting everything up to level

eventful day honestly, got the new tank (opted for a 29 gal, its easier to handle) and some substrate

ill ne taking hardscape from outside unless luck decides that i dont deserve nice peices of wood and rocks but for the most part ill be getting like.. 11 plant types? substrate i plan for a mix of fluval stratum, tan sand, maybe some gravel if i feel special

gotta figure out a stand for it though... thats gonna be tough LOL

An introduction

Meowdy! This account is honestly just a catch all for my thought process about my aquarium LOL Throwing thoughts into the void when i dont want to bother my friends Im a beginner, have only been doing this since november of 2024 so im still learning and figuring things out about the hobby Ive shown genuine passion and interest in this, its a little silly but its a comforting hobby I try my best to ensure my animals are in a safe environment and living life to its fullest, especially when most of the animals ill be keeping can live upwards of 5 years, some of them even 10 or higher! If i had it my way i would totally have a 50+ gal tank for just the 4 mollies but im just a single person and that is a LOT of room to scape and take care of.. Eventually when i have my forever home ill do another upgrade, but for now a 30 gallon is the extent of my abilities I dont expect or want this blog to become popular at any point in time, i find popularity to be overwhelming. Ill probably hardly post and none of my posts will end up being tagged because again- just a spot to throw thoughts into a void ^^ Thank you for visiting! Bladder snails Will be upgrading to a 30 gallon with the addition of 2x striped kuhlis and 2x otocinclus in the upcoming months!! The sooner the better..
