UK Podcast Enthusiast Meet-Up

Hey everyone! I’m thinking of organising a meet-up for the general podcast fandom for people in the UK, probably around July/August/September in central London. Right now, this is very much in the idea stage and I need to see if there is genuine interest with people before I start to make a page and look at the best dates! Reconsider your actions. Podcast creators don’t owe you anything. They give you hours upon hours of content and media, all for free; and yeah, they’re not perfect, but they don’t have to be. They don’t owe you a particular storyline, or a particular pairing, or a particular headcanon or theory being canon. They put so much time and effort into doing what they do, and showing some gratitude is the least we could all do. Not harassing creators over offhand comments and jokes, and not hacking their personal accounts and generally being dicks.

Doctor who: a group of boys in the neighbourhood have found a carton box and decided to each have a turn at the campfire to make up a giant story about it

I hate hate HATE all those 2edgy 4me theories about kids shows. Like Angelica dreaming up the rugrats, or the ed, edd, and eddy children being ghosts, or literally anything that takes a lighthearted and fun kids show and has to turn it into some tragic take of rape or murder or misinformed mental illness. So you know what? From now on I’m gonna do the exact opposite. Every cool grim-dark show is now because of a bunch of children. To get us started: Game of Thrones: A middle-school DnD campaign with the most angry, vindictive DM who has promised to kill everyone’s player characters (and their family) by the end.
