went into work yesterday going "oh we're not usually busy on memorial day, it'll be a chill day :)" so i was left with a skeleton crew

came out of it exhausted beyond words after spending the shift managing two in store workers, one who is new and is still learning everything, and another who just turned 18 and is now learning to do everything he couldn't do prior, while the night was really busy. it got so overwhelming hearing "song" "song" "hey song" "song i need help" "song im lost what pizza is this for" "song what settings do i do" "song this lady needs a refund" "song how do i input a half and half" "song i need help voiding this" "song i cant find this customers order" "song how do i input a thin crust" "song where's-" "song can you-" "song-" "song-" "SONG HELP" every ten seconds when i'm trying to make all the orders on the continuously growing order list at the makeline to get them out on time 😭

HERE IT IS: THE FINAL RPG WORLD COMIC!

A recent episode of my show OK KO!, “A Hero’s Fate” is a fully-absorbed finale of my old comic RPG World. RPG World was a comic that I made when I was a teenager(Starting in August 2000). A lot of people ended up liking the comic and I was a little too young to take that fact seriously. I never finished the comic’s story because… I was a flighty teenager and I ended up going to animation school. After a fruitful decade-plus of working in animation, I was thrilled to return to my old characters.

Originally the story wasn’t going to have any specific call-outs to the comic but the storyboard team for the episode, Ryann Shannon and Parker Simmons crafted a narrative around Hero and KO learning to value the people in their lives AND their heroic ambitions.

Ryann created an epilogue to the episode which showed Hero returning to comic form to finish his story. I felt very embarrassed by this but it made so much sense in the story’s context. I leaned into it and using her rough version as a guide, drew the full ending page myself. I rummaged thru my supplies and broke out the same set of pens I used to ink the comic with, and scanned it on my same old scanner. I tried to emulate my coloring style from back then(MAN ALIVE I was SO into gradients)… I used to do the comic three times a week so doing it again was a surreal experience. 

The whole thing has ended up being very cathartic. Knowing that Hero and Cherry will live on in endless worldwide repeats of this episode is mindblowing.

p.s. If this post inspires you to go look up and read RPG World, I pre-emptively apologize for my clumsy and possibly offensive teenage writing and artistic skills. I barely knew what I was doing! I’m shocked that people even liked it!

Hello! We’re Traversal Peaks— a Discord roleplay group centered around farming sims such as Harvest Moon, Rune Factory, and many more!

Set in an alternate universe to the canon games, players can choose a character from a list of our accepted games and make them their own: interact with fellow muses, participate in community events, and take part in a world that is continuously being updated and expanded. 

What we have to offer:

◇ A warm, welcoming space with tons of creatives! With a thriving art community and plenty of talented writers, we’re proud of the growing community we’ve fostered.

◇ Consistent activity, events, and festivals! We hold frequent events for members to participate in, and have a year-round running festival calendar. In addition, members are permitted to run special events of their own! With over 50 active muses such as Gray, Popuri, Forte and Volkanon, Traversal Peaks is a consistently active and constantly growing community.

◇ A wide selection of canon characters to choose from! Though we initially started as a Story of Seasons and Rune Factory server, our masterlist has expanded to include characters from games such as Stardew Valley, My Time at Sandrock, and more! Choose your favorite characters and play out their day to day lives. Additionally, the masterlist is planned to expand once Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma releases! 

Some additional points to know about the server:

◇ Traversal Peaks uses canon characters only— meaning, no OCs. That being said, characters in the server’s universe are considered altered versions, meaning that they can be changed and customized within reasonable limitations.

◇ Traversal Peaks is an 18+ server. While the majority of server content is PG-13, we do have NSFW channels, and thus do not accept members under the age of 18.

Though the roleplay scene in the farming sim community is sparse, we’re proud of the community we’re building, and hope to welcome other fans of this genre into it. If you love writing, worldbuilding, and farming sims, come join us in Traversal Peaks!
