Pierrot

Pierrot will always love Colombina, no matter if she cheats on him or treats him badly. Colombina will always love Arlecchino.

When she argues with Arlecchino, she runs to Pierrot just to make Arlecchino jealous. Pierrot smiles, even though he knows he’s only being used. He doesn’t mind, because even a moment with her feels like a dream.

But Colombina always returns to Arlecchino, and Pierrot remains the fool who loved too deeply and ended up with a broken heart. The audience laughs, and he smiles back. Yet, while they laugh at his misfortune, a single tear falls, one that will forever be etched on his face.

The curtain falls, but he stays behind while the others leave. Pierrot lingers, still there. Pierrot cannot exist without Colombina, but Colombina exists without him.

When the curtain rises again, sing, Pierrot, sing. They want to laugh, but sing of love, a love you will never have. Sing for her who never spoke to you of love, a love in which you can never take part.

Sing, Pierrot, a soul too pure in a harsh world, a heart too fragile in a world made of swords.

my opinion, if they made a remake of Tokimeki Tonight (1982), following the manga and maintaining the retro style of the 1982 anime it would become the best known anime of the year, the story is prominent, don't forget that it was one of the manga to inspire sailor moon. 🙏🏻
