The image of Kwon Jiyong playing as Seeker for the International Quidditch Team will forever remain engraved in his mind, his quick movements across the sports section of the Daily Prophet and Jungkook’s own memory from the time he saw his role model play at the Quidditch World Cup serving as the best motivation to drive Jungkook towards a singular thought: that he was going to play Quidditch.

He mounts his first broomstick when he is ten-years-old, gripping the handle of his brother’s Comet 260 and climbing several feet in just a few seconds as per the careful instructions. His natural talent of quick wit and quicker reflex earned the attention of his brother’s friendly Quidditch team, where he spends the summer practicing. Even during the fall, with his brother and his friendly Quidditch team whisked off to Hogwarts, Jungkook would practice whenever he could—using the hand-me-down old broomsticks once owned by his brother and the occasional throws of small objects made by his parents.

At his Hogwart’s letter arriving in the mail a year later, he leaves his hand-me-down broomsticks and the Quidditch roar in his heart within the comfort of his home. After all, first-years hardly ever make their House Quidditch team. That was in accordance to Jungkook’s own thoughts as he set the goal of undergoing his first year without attracting too much attention to himself and just focusing on doing well in his classes and studies.

However, it doesn’t take too long for Jungkook to realize that his aforementioned natural talent of quick wit and quicker reflexes would follow him straight into his first flying lesson—where something as simple as mounting his broomstick earns him the attention of Madam Hooch and simultaneously changes his life.

A/N: I’ve tried to change my writing style a little bit by putting sentences together differently and transitioning into other actions more smoothly in this fic. In some areas, I still fall into old habits and I can see that, but I tried! Additionally, I didn’t mean for this to be as long as it is! I started this story around summertime of 2019, but I kinda abandoned it and only recently decided to finish it(Because I’m procrastinating “You Need Us Pt. 4”).

You never really knew if you should resent and hate your “gift” or if you should appreciate and thank whatever force for it since you had turned it into your everyday job - not only could you not bleed to death but vampires would pay insane amounts of money to feed on you and you would never have to worry about being drained in an alley somewhere which, unfortunately, did happen to some people. 

The pros outweighed the cons, the majority of the time anyway. 

You had a certain intoxicating smell which made you easy to find for vampires and your blood was equally exhilarating for them to taste - it made you more desirable than other humans, though so far you hadn’t had any bad experiences with vampires since you basically offered yourself on a silver platter to them, as long as they played by certain rules while they were in your house. 

The majority of your clients were regulars, it was extremely rare that you took on new ones and the ones that you saw often, meaning once or twice a week, had grown fond of you and you’d come to know that they’d protect you at any cost. They always asked if everything was okay, if you needed anything or if anyone was giving you trouble. Truth be told, you had come to be fond of every single one of them too, sometimes not even charging them for coming to feed on you. A couple of them you had even seen outside of work for casual evenings and you always felt safe in their presence. None of them had ever overstepped the line, they were extremely gentle, polite and sweet. Maybe it was because the majority of them were thousands of years old and had come to know how to conduct themselves? Time was different for them and they preferred enjoying the play instead of diving in and ravaging their prey. 

Stretching your neck you adjusted a few of the candles that were placed on the table near the window. The window was the height of the wall, and as long as the room you were in, providing you with a huge view of the city. Your apartment was a large, modern design, black and white in colour scheme, located on the 7th floor. Entering the front door it was an open plan with a fireplace, a door going into your bedroom, another to the kitchen, one to a bathroom and one to a guest bedroom. It was a lucrative area and the rent wasn’t cheap but you made the money to be able to pay for it, plus some. 

Adjusting the shirt of your casual attire, you prepared yourself for your next client - he always came around on Fridays and Tuesdays, even between the usual days he’d show up late at night and wake you up while you were in bed, but you didn’t mind, he was a good man. Sometimes he just wanted to see you, or talk and he’d become a close friend.

An elbow nudging into your side pulled you back into consciousness, a small gasp leaving your mouth as you jerked your head back up. You gathered your surroundings haphazardly, a subtle frown finding your lips as you realized that you had somehow slept through your entire lecture, the shuffle of students as they began to gather their things and slide out the lecture hall greeting you.

“Morning, princess. Thought you’d never wake up.” The silvery voice of your best friend mocked.

Turning towards Jungkook, you furthered your frown, a small sound of annoyance escaping you.

“How did we end up with a verbal laxative as a professor?”

The brown-haired boy let out an attractive laugh, reaching over as he began to pack his things.

“He’s not that bad. This lecture was actually interesting – if you had only stayed awake long enough to notice.” He countered.

You sighed, moving to mirror your best friend’s actions, “Ugh, sorry, sorry. I haven’t been sleeping much lately…” You threw your bag over your shoulder, making your way down and across the room, your loyal guard dog trailing closely behind you.

You held back a snicker at your own thoughts.

Although Jungkook had explicitly told you that he wasn’t fond of the dog comparison, it didn’t change the fact that he did keep you within arms reach at all times. You weren’t too fussed. You knew it was his alpha nature that couldn’t help but follow his omega best friend close.

Third night of no sleep whatsoever, no matter how many cups of camomile tea he drank before bed, or how much he danced and worked out to tire himself out, or how much asmr he listened to, nothing was working. He knew what he ought to do. He’d known you’d ruined good sleep for him for posterity the moment he’d woken up beside you three mornings prior. You’d been the little spoon, him the big. It was called Jeon’s Kitchen. It was a café that was super underrated for its location was hidden from the busy streets, yet it served the best coffee and pastries that you’ve ever tasted in your whole years of living.

You push the door of the café and the bell rings, signaling your arrival. The fresh smell of baked bread and coffee instantly hits your nose, and you almost roll your eyes back from its heavenly scent. Folding your wet umbrella close, you greet the man from the other side of the glass counter. “Good morning Mr. Jeon!”
