Are You Good at Dancing?

Pairing : Kim Taehyung x Reader

Summary : Monotone. Your whole world is black and white, and it was so boring to look at. Robotic maybe, and you just needed to be pulled back into life.

A piano.

Those are black and white, but when played, it gives out the most colorful sounds.

Taehyung, a boy in your sociology class, would call you that all the time. “Pianos are beautiful if you know how to use one.” Is that he would tell you all the time.

Maybe he’s saying you could give off the most color, but haven’t figure yourself out.

Or he might be saying you’re dependent on others to show potential.

Either way, you didn’t care. That boy just spits out nonsense most of the time, so you wouldn’t recommend anyone in trusting his piano logic.

Though he wasn’t wrong. You were begging to suddenly stop existing, or a while time freeze that’ll make you sleep forever. Like, fly into space for a moment and break from your cycle.

“Piano girl.” He winked at you before he sat down. “Are you good at dancing?” Taehyung asked.

“I wouldn’t say I’m good at it.” You answered.

Taehyung smiled at you. “Do you know what it feelings like to float? Like swimming—but it’s February, and we DON’T do drugs—and you know, dancing. Dancing makes you float.” He explained.

You just sat there. What did you say to weird thought of ‘floating’?

“Dance with me.” Taehyung said. “It’s like, skydiving. But instead, we’re not falling. Floating.” He continued to explain. “Let’s go together, Piano Girl.”

Floating, a perfect opportunity for a girl glued to the ground. “Okay.”

It was the same day you saw the boring dance room. You wanted to go home, and strongly regretted agreeing to dance. Dancing was hype, and definitely not floating.

“Do you have color?” Taehyung asked. “You’re like a little robot. A little robot piano girl who lives monotone, and is stuck with a weirdo like me.” He grinned.

“Let’s just dance.” You said rolling your eyes. “I don’t know how to dance.”

Taehyung took out his little speaker. “Don’t worry—“ He started to play soft piano music. “—this will be easy! Piano music is just about floating.” He said winking at you. “After this session, you’ll beg to dance with me again.”

It was awkward at first. Slow dancing?

His hands at your waist with yours on his shoulders. The both of you were out of sync, and it was scary. Like an 8th dance, no one was feeling it. “Sink into it.” He whispered.

It was like magic. The more you moved with Taehyung the more together you became with him. He was lift you up, and you wouldn’t separate from his touch.

Why was this so normal?

The music was colorful. The most color you’ve ever heard in your life, and Taehyung was glowing. Glowing with color.

“I don’t want to stop.” You asked pulling him into a tight embrace. “We’re too in unison to stop now.”

You begged for a moment like this, a time stop. The more you were dancing with Taehyung, it felt like time was no longer with you. Freedom.

You were floating.

“Your colors are so bright.” Taehyung said in awe. “You’re now a playing piano!” He said picking you up and spinning you around.

Obviously, the dancing came to a halt. But, whenever you could, you would dance with Taehyung. You would float with Taehyung.

It was a connection you thought you never needed.

Well, obviously you do.

It was hard talking about him to your friends, hard in self-control, because you could talk about Taehyung for hours.

Your schedules would sometimes feel like they were the exact opposite, so the most you’d get from him is a good night phone call.

But whenever you two were together, the time being apart easily came back.

“(Y/n).” He groans blinking his eyes a few times to walk him up. Taehyung stared at his girlfriend laying beside him and smiled brightly. “Gosh, our only day off together and we just take naps the whole day?” He said running his hand through your hair.

“You make me seem like I’m a bad boyfriend.” He said before placing a kiss onto your forehead.

It was times like these where you really can look at Taehyung and feel like everything was going okay.

You opened your eyes and saw him.

“It feels so nice to wake up and see your face.” You said getting up energized.

The boy in front of you blushed crazy, and looked away from you. “It’s too early to make me feel this way!” Taehyung said pouting.

“It’s 9PM.” You said laying back down, making sure to hold on to your boyfriend’s hand. “I just want to be with you.”

It felt his hand was burning in contact with yours.

“Shut up or I kiss you.”
