I’ve been loving this tool to practice my writing and using it for work emails. As a Korean American my biggest problems are spelling (writing as I hear it) and the spaces between words (띄어쓰기). Even tho it’s still in beta this tool has been invaluable in helping me check my writing!
I was debating if I should get a writing tutor or not but I think for now I will use this and once I have money I’ll get a tutor.

kwotd: 식감 = texture of a food
On Friday I ate at an Indian restaurant. I usually get the Chicken Masala but this time I ordered something different. It was nice and spicy.
I thought there was tofu inside the curry but.. it was actually cheese! It really looked and had the texture of tofu you put in stews but my friend informed me that it was cheese that they put in indian food. On second taste, it did taste a little more cheesy. It was pretty interesting.

I ate at a famous Moroccan sandwhich shop in HBC today. My favorite part was the lamps on the ceiling. I also liked how they played Morrocan music while I ate.

wotd: 양 (portion, amount of food)
Today I had halal from Halal Guys. They’re originally from New York but look’s like they made a Seoul location. It was good but the portion was a little small for me. I need American size portions haha. And there was no free water so points off for that. There should be water since red sauce is spicy.

kwotd= 혼밥 (slang for eating alone. derived from 혼자(alone/by myself) 밥먹어 (eat food)
I ate tacos today. I hadn’t eaten out in Korea for a long time so I’d forgotten that people here don’t eat out alone in public so when I told the worker table for 1 I suddenly remembered and felt a little embarrassed. Later I learned that eating alone in public here is more common and even ‘in style’ nowadays compared to the past. But I feel that people here eat out alone in places like McDonalds and Kimbap houses, not nice restaurants. haha

wotd: ~맛이났다 (tasted like~)
Today I ate a vegan hamburger in Itaewon. It was a fried tofu burger but it tasted like fried chicken. It was good but why does western food have to be so expensiveee

Just like the word selca / 셀카 came out way before ‘selfie’ did.. i like to think korea is ahead of the times with its slang haha
