Totally Doctor Who - 1x04

I wanted to share two coffee paintings with a high personal value to me 🙏

Both depict scenes from Medieval Week in Visby, Sweden. The first one features a friend with her dog just outside Visby city wall. The second is my close friend and her daughter (my goddaughter 🥹) in a tender moment. I painted these for a little exhibition at Medieval Week 2023 - hopefully, I can do a bigger exhibition there sometime in the future 🙏

I finished my first little gouache study, and I think it came out rather nice 🫶 I've already got another portrait of David sketched up - both pictures were suggestions from my bestie @davidtennan-t so you have her to thank for that 😉 You'll find a short making-of-video below 🙏

After 514 days, I was finally reunited with my bestie @davidtennan-t - sitting in her room now, playing around with gouache. Her place is my second home, and where I feel most at peace 🥹 Going on adventures together is amazing, but simply getting to spend time together, have a good yap, do arts and crafts... nothing beats it. Trying to absorb all the energy I can from these precious days together ❤️

I've shared this before, but as I'm thinking of remaking this as a painting to produce prints, I thought it was worth posting again, with more pictures 🙏

I painted this phone case during the pandemic, and used it for a while - it held up pretty well with many layers of varnish. It would be fun to recreate it, and possibly make prints to sell 🙏 More images below:

I was very happy with the background in particular, and hopefully, I could capture their likeness better with a bit more space and time 😝

Some WIP pictures - I switched out the sketched background behind Aziraphale and opted for the stained window instead. Painted with acrylic paint on a flexible phone case 😊

Working on a study in gouache, which is quite a new medium to me. Naturally, making a portrait of David Tennant seemed like the best subject matter 🙏 Fingers crossed it all comes together 🤞😅

Say what you will about the series final tonight... but I need justice for our poor girl Ruby! She was being completely gaslighted in the end, whether Poppy was ever real in any context... and in the end, she gets no answers! She doesn't even get the "I love you", but Belinda does 😭😂 If Billie is the new Doctor, I want her to make a beeline to see Ruby and let her know what actually went down 🙏

While I was selling my art at a convention last weekend, I suddenly had a vision in my mind that I just had to paint.

In these horrible times of trans rights being stripped away in several countries, I wanted to celebrate lgbtqia+ in all forms, as well as Doctor Who for its firm support of the community 🙏

Hopefully, I'll have stickers and prints ready for my final market before summer 🤞
