This is my KP journey, I will be taking a very scientific approach to my KP and will be mainly using products available in NZ/AUS. Hopefully this blog can give you some good tips.

Mild Soaps: So I have tried mild soaps before and I found it harder to maintain a good body odour. I love to smell nice and clean, its much harder to achieve this when using mild soaps. However I’ll look into it and see if there is some good smelling mild soaps that aren’t bar soap! Recommendations would be good thanks Avoiding hot baths/Showers: I absolutely love long hot showers and the occasional bath. However I really do think hot showers are bad for KP. I have noticed my skin goes tomato red after a nice hot shower. So unfortunately I will be doing lukewarm showers from now on :( Home Humidity: I don’t have the greatest home humidity at the moment unfortunately. However I bought an alternative to this which is an Aroma Diffuser from Kmart, which may help. I have also bought some Lavender oil for the diffuser which has lots of skin benefits that helps with dry skin, anti inflammatory, fights acne and detoxifies https://www.kmart.co.nz/product/aroma-diffuser/1625835 https://www.chemistwarehouse.co.nz/buy/74893/thursday-plantation-lavender-oil-100-pure-50ml?gclid=CjwKCAjwtNf6BRAwEiwAkt6UQgJTGa0gRK1AQ5iKRqEFJBnBIMJeUnMb0HmkGgs8QSl3yj7r87zlhxoCRxAQAvD_BwE Salyicylic Acid 2%: One of the most important creams I think you need for KP. It helps removes and loosens dry and dead skin. Basically a really soft non abrasive exfoliant. This one I found at Mecca looks good. https://www.meccabeauty.co.nz/malin-goetz/salicylic-gel/I-043617.html Urea Cream 20%: Another important cream you need for KP. Basically Urea cream locks in moisture, so your skins stays moisturised over a longer period of time. So Instead of 20% Urea Cream I have found a cream that has 40% Urea Cream in it, more the better right? https://www.fishpond.co.nz/Beauty/PurSources-Urea-40-Healing-Cream-Best-Callus-Remover-Soothes-and-Softens-Thick-Cracked-Rough-Dead-and-Dry-Skin-Moisturises-and-Rehydrates-Skin-to-Healthy-Appearance-Free-Pumice-Stone-120ml/0867806000302 Topical Tretonion: So basically this type of cream keeps your skin clear, so really good for acne. I have used this cream before for my KP, the NZ brand is called Retrieve Cream, I think it is also the same for AUS. I did notice a slight but not major difference when using it after about two weeks. The cream is about $50NZD per tube which lasts at the very most 3 weeks. If you are applying it to big areas such as the arms or legs, its unlikely that you will be able to see the full benefits of only one tube of the cream. You would likely need multiple tubes of cream to start seeing real differences across a couple of months. At the moment I wont be using this type of cream, maybe I will if its the only option I have left. (You will also need a prescription for this) https://www.medsafe.govt.nz/profs/Datasheet/r/retrievecream.pdf Triamicinolone Acetonide 0.1% or Desonide: Both are topical corticosteroid anti-inflammatory creams only to be used for a temporary amount of time. I have found DermAid Soft 0.5% Cream which I will use at the beginning of my treatment and will stop using this cream once the tube is finished. https://www.chemistwarehouse.co.nz/buy/44825/dermaid-soft-0-5-eczema-cream-30g Skin Softening Cream: Im assuming this means moisturiser, may need to look more into this. I’ve decided to use an oil moisturiser for my treatment which is suppose to be good for KP. Im going to be using Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula Moisturizing Body Oil. https://www.chemistwarehouse.co.nz/buy/36528/palmers-cocoa-butter-formula-moisturising-body-oil-250ml?gclid=CjwKCAjwtNf6BRAwEiwAkt6UQhy08fsvhHZLLQ1PfBfIVGE4Rna-mkemCOxRh9pEkiGysgK8fDqX-RoCHpQQAvD_BwE
