Doing some more "staying warm observing" with the SeeStar tonight. Moon, m63 and m101. These were processed on my phone only using android software and SeeStar software. #astrophotography 🔭

Some fall foliage today at the observatory cottage. I really do love this time of year! #leafpeeping

I took some older moon data and learned how to process the data so that the moon mineral colors were visible. That was a lot of fun! I love the results! #Astrophotography 🔭 📷

I will raise your eclipse photo and offer you thousands (maybe simultaneously) 🤣
M13 Hercules Great Globular Cluster and Galaxies: Oddly I've only imaged M13 on my VERY first night of imaging many moons ago in 2017. So put some hours of capture into this one. The galaxy to the right there is NGC6207, and there are many galaxies if you look around. An LRGB image with almost 4 hours of data. #astrophotography 🔭📷
And yes this means I was skunked by clouds at the eclipse. 🤣

The Whale Galaxy (NGC 4631) - Lots of friends to go along with this eye-candy. Be sure to scan all the small galaxy smudges in this shot. Almost 6 hours of exposure time including both an RGB and narrowband filters. Cropped special - galaxy season style. #astrophotography #astronomy 🔭📷 #photography

A few years in the making. As I capture more and more data in this region, I am amazed at the dusty detail that is there. I will continue to capture data on this one into the 32 hour mark. So far about 10 hours of integration time. 25% RGB data and 75% HOO narrowband data for an RGBHOO image.

Here is IC410 The Tadpoles in HaRGB with data from over a few years time. Taken from my observatory in Hickory Grove, PA. #astrophotography #astronomy #photography 🔭📷
Attached to this description is the starless version of the image, which is fascinating to observe. It is mind boggling how some objects are even more breathtaking without the distraction of stars.

Processing some older data - HaRGB of SH2-155, The Cave Nebula. I have always found this object to be fascinating, and I do plan to capture MORE data on it over the years and go much deeper. Just love the hydrogen gas formations that make up the object and surrounding gas clouds. Stellarvue SVX102T Refractor, ASI2600MM Pro and about 4 hours of integration time captured from 2020 - 2022. 🔭

I have always wanted a Questar #telescope, and was never really willing to take the plunge. I always thought, what is better than a Questar Telescope? An antique one!!! Yes I recently scored a great deal on a 1967 model with quartz optics (that still performs well). Serial number 3135. I've been cleaning and polishing it up. I'm so pleased with it, and have ordered some replacement parts to complete the restoration. Can't wait to do planetary #astrophotography 🔭 #astronomy

While #KopernikAstroFest was really Kopernik "Rainfest" on the first night, I still had a great time tinkering with the observatory hardware. A 20" OGS Astrograph, a C14 Edge setup, a 6" Astrophysics F/12 Planetary Killer and a plethora of yard scopes/dobs.

Last weekend I spent 4 days at Cherry Springs State Park attending the Black Forest Star Party. What a great time. Over three clear nights at the darksky park, I imaged for 6 hours of data and observed well over 100 objects. Here are some shots of my base camp there. 🔭 #astronomy #astrophotography #StarParty #BFSP

I had an excellent time at the #stellafane convention last weekend. This is my #telescope setup on the observing field. It was so great to see old friends and lovers of #astronomy. A 16" f/4 New Moon Telescopes custom made Dobsonian. We scored 2 clear nights with at least 75 objects observed. 🔭

Here is the Pelican Nebula in the HaRGB palette. Captured the data on 6/18/23 using my SVX102T and a ZWO2600MM Pro monochrome camera. The gas in the upper left is the North American Nebula. #astronomy 🔭🧪 #astrophotography #science #photography
