Finally uploaded. I guess I'm uploading everything asap, because the other vids are much longer.

A Complete Vid
I finally managed to get Adobe Media Encoder working. Before now it would get stuck at 100% but not actually complete it's task. Here's what I've got to show so far. Update - After a four hour upload, YouTube notifies me that I need to verify my account to upload a video longer than 15 minutes. You'd think the app would be able to tell the video length at attempted upload.

Bigger Update
So I've continued to email creatives and content creators about being interviewed for my capstone, and the only person to every respond was Andy Bumatai, even though he passed on doing a interview. The people I've tried to contact, in no particular order are: https://www.youtube.com/@triggerpod = A pair of British comedians that interview various people about modern culture, https://www.youtube.com/@BaggageClaim = A young woman that creates video essays on modern culture, https://www.youtube.com/@AshleyAFrawley = A first nation's woman that's an academic in the UK that speaks on social/political issues, https://www.youtube.com/@BenjaminABoyce = A writer that usually interviews people who's stories are suppressed because they go against an accepted narrative: for example people that detransition, and much more, though they might be controversial: such as YoungRippa and the Geeks & Gamers crew etc.
Outside of my failures to connect with other creatives I also lost a pivot point to my interviews where I tried to interview people on the College section of Omegle, but Omegle got shut down recently. While I failed to get any footage from the site before it closed, there are other chat apps that could facilitate interviews with people in the Zoomer generation.
While on Omegle I did have a somewhat fruitful conversation with an Indian girl named, Vishnu, attending Indiana State University (we talked for over half an hour and the whole time I thought she was talking about a college in India, ie I kept hearing India when she said Indiana: I promise, I wasn't drunk). Had she not been drinking alcohol throughout the night, I would have loved getting her verbal consent to interview her. Be that as it may, she did give her opinion on modern culture and a summary of thoughts is that people are pushing things to the extremes.

Headway
I interviewed my half-brother over discord. Unfortunately the audio was skewed due to the brother having a fan running. Anthony is kinda busy and it's hard to connect with him, I texted him a few times to attempt the interview this week and I'm hoping he responds. Jared (former boss) is down for an interview when ever.
Outside of trying to fix the audio on the interview I have, I've been trying to create a "professional" intro to the series, and I'm sharing what I've got right now. I hope it's not too long.

Progress
I was able to get in contact with my cousin that is a comedian. It turns out he moved to California, so I'll have to interview him through Zoom or Discord. I neglected to interview my half-brother because I did not want to ruin the mood of his post-marriage "bliss"... heh. I WILL interview them this week.
Outside of that I managed to get a bunch of drone footage and here's a glimpse at what I was able to capture.

Interview Details
Running through how I intend to interview people for my capstone. Some ideas that I neglected to touch on.
Communities often create the rules that govern their established "safe space" and it is not "fair" that new comers dictate how those rules should be changed through coercion by using moral/virtue shaming.
Equity is not just or fair. The idea that we need to all end up at the same place/outcomes ignores the fact that we are similar, not the same. If a person works harder or smarter, they deserve more than someone that isn't etc.
Modern social movements seem to pretend that you can achieve 100% resolution of any problem they set out to fix, when in reality no one is capable of achieving 100% because all humans are flawed and we have a diversity of thought/opinion. As Thomas Sowell points out "There are no solutions only trade offs."

I've been getting practice with the Drone, which I'll be using to create my title/introduction for my docu-series. Here are some images that I captured with said drone. (I do plan on getting interview footage in the next few days and will post the raw footage when I'm able to grab it)

B-roll
In my last progress report I had intended to share a video of Andy Bumatai addressing some of the social issues in a YouTube short of his daily podcast called "Daily Pidgin Podcast," but decided instead to compile videos/clips of comedians or intellectuals succinctly expressing their views on social, ideological or political topics/narratives to be used as potential b-roll for my capstone. Here are a few examples.

Progress on Capstone
Where I'm at now is currently in the grind to find people to interview. While I do want to have more spontaneous interviews with students on campus, I also want to get the perspectives of creatives in the field. For instance I emailed Mr. Andy Bumatai and actually got a response.
While I wasn't successful at scheduling an interview with Mr. Bumatai, I did run into a former boss/manager of mine at Waianae Store, and succeeded at getting him to agree to be interviewed.
My first steps are interviewing my former boss and then using that interview to inform how I conduct my future interviews. I have an idea on the questions that I'll ask, such as: "Is there anything within the social, cultural or political sphere that you are concerned about, what is it, and can you defend your position?" I'll then try to act as a foil to their own perspectives to coax out what people really think/feel and in the end we can try to workshop any issues that come up about these topics, whether it be accuracy, solutions, calls to action etc.
Some fears I have is that people will not be willing to share their opinions due to our current social climate suppressing free thought/speech through a heavy handed lash-back at anyone not adhering to what's deemed to be the appropriate perspectives. I think I lot of people just say what's accepted but don't really hold those ideas to be true. Some may call it cowardice, but I don't blame them, because it's much easier to go along to get along than fight the current. I just hope I can inspire a few to help turn the tide.
