hey, i made a whole post responding to your vague but you know what? let me just clarify this again for @iamadequate1.

i made a post that was was a reply to someone who asked me whether OFMD or black sails was better as part of an existing conversation, and i gave them my opinion. i did say in the post replies to the person i was engaged in conversation with that i enjoyed ofmd, and that ofmd and black sails belong to different genres, and i was comparing them solely in terms of the category of “queer pirate tv shows” and the general parameters of whether a show is “good” e.g. writing, character arcs etc. obviously this is a subjective opinion!!

and yes i did tag it ofmd and black sails because that was in the initial question and also it's my blog and i tag rigorously as a rule! it's not a call to fight or shit on the other show/fandom (unless you took it as one, which imo says more about you than me).

i'm honestly really surprised that your reaction was so hostile to my post. anyway, i really don’t think making a single post on tumblr in response to a specific question means that i’m pitting one show against the other or that i’m working towards the end of queer rep in media and being offensive to the queer community etc. sometimes we just have opinions and think that one thing is better than another and we can still enjoy both!!

God it is weird to see people play a zero-sum game with queer media, like one must be the Best Queer Show and destroy all the others a la Highlander.

It's working against yourselves, against representation in media, against other queer people, and honestly just being offensive and boring.
