conceptually stannarrator could be such a compelling dynamic, such a compelling relationship, because it wouldn't & SHOULDN'T ever work.

the narrator being far too needy for even his OWN good, standards that are much too high for anyone to meet, much too controlling, egotistical & much too EVERYTHING to work in a relationship with stanley, ESPECIALLY STANLEY, who's already had to bear the burden of knowing the narrator for longer than anyone ever should.

they both hate each other so much & yet by now are tied together, a conjoined freakish thing of codependency & hatred & trauma that'll never heal. they hate each other & want nothing to do with each other, but if seperated they'd cease to function entirely.

stannarrator could be so compelling, so interesting. & yet the fandom chooses to portray them as sexy twinks, or overly, ripped men who look barely a day over 20, holding yaoi hands & passionately kissing against a wall.
