What Do I Do Now?

Hello guys, long time no see! 

Well, technically only 25-ish or so people follow me, but I like to write these posts for myself just as much for you guys too so here we go! 

I’ve been home now for just over 6 months, in fact I just hit my one year anniversary of my departure date a week ago. Pretty sad, and I am missing my exchange life tremendously. Not to say, finishing up my last year of university hasn't been super amazing, but whats next?! Am I supposed to do more school, like society tells me to? Do I look for work, or do I go back out travelling like my heart truly wants (cheesy, I know but bear with me).

I mean, why are 21 year-olds supposed to have their shit together by the time they graduate. Personally, Im NOT looking to settle down any time soon, and I want to do all things I want now, because when Im married with kids and a mortgage, Im not going to want to go backpacking through South America! 

Hopefully this last semester will give me some insight on what to do with my life, but for now I can look forward to having a mini exchange reunion soon!  Its so fab that we all live so close and OLIVIA IS FLYING OUT HERE, WOOP WOOP. So that should be fun. 

Until then, ill sign this post off with some classic British slang (like the good old days)

Toronto Bound.

Cheers England to an amazing 6 months! This amazing country, as well as Wales and Scotland have treated me and my fellow exchange friends wonderfully while we were on our exchange. Going to be a little weird going back to Canada.... Between bars, climate, food and the accents things have been much different these past six months ! Well... At least I'm going home in time for the Stanley Cup final right ? Haha six months out of Canada, but hockey still runs deep in my veins. I guess some things will never change. Hip hip Cheerio England ! I'll be back in no time :) P.S I'm six bloody months I've never actually heard someone say 'hip hip cheerio'

I spy the Eiffel Tower 👀🇫🇷 .... ALSO so happy I got to go to Paris' infamous 'Love Lock' bridge yesterday. Unfortunately these tokens of love are too heavy and the bridge can no longer support the weight. When we cruised by the bridge again today (literally cruised on a boat 😁) we found that more than half of these locks had been already been taken down, and city officials expect to have the bridge completely cleared by tonight ! 😢 (at Paris, France)

Lecco, Italy! One of the few towns that boarders the beautiful Lake Como in Northern Italy. We actually ha a choice between going to Milan or Lake Como for the day and I'm so glad we chose the ladder! I was also in amazement as Lake Como served as the wedding location for Padmé and Anakin Skywalker in episode 2 of the Star Wars movies .... yes I was freaking out on the inside yet trying to keep my cool in front of Olivia and her family The quick weekend trip to Italy was filled with lots of pasta, risotto and all you can eat pizza and gelato !! HOW PERFECT. We were also in the hands of Olivia's amazing family who treated me like one of their own :) Ciao Italy ! I'll hopefully be back soon! 🇮🇹

Oh Athens, I'm so sorry you're given such a bad reputation! My 24 hours in the capital city of Greece might have been one of my top moments thus far! Apart from the typical European cat calling and crazy people trying to grab you and sell you stuff ... I LOVE THIS CITY! The ruins were just amazing to see and all light up at night. We stayed at the Pella Inn hostel which had this amazing rooftop patio where you could see the Acropolis. The hostel also offered a killer (free!) walking tour and also paired us in a room with some great Aussies and Americans. We ended our 13 days in Greece with a best gyros, which I will surely miss! Epfetesto Greece, you were amazing! ("Thank you" in Greece & yes I 100% butchered the spelling)

The largest of the Greek islands, Crete, has a much different landscape than Santorini. Travellers flock from all over to see the white buildings built into rock in Santorini, but Crete defiantly has more natural beauty. We're staying in Plakias amongst some crazy mountains, hiking trails and beautiful beaches! I've definitely seen my adventurous side this week as Liv and I embarked on a 4 hour upstream river "walk" , which turned out to be climbing water falls the whole time. Looking back the beauty of the climb was totally worth it. After a week in Santorini and 4 days here in Plakias, we are now onto another part of the island as we prepare for out flight to Athens ! Greece has been amazing thus far and I cannot wait to see what the capital has to offer too!

Greece !

Arrived in Greece this morning after 24 sleepless hours of travel from England. Needless to say, my body will SHUT DOWN if not given enough sleep... good to know for the future. I arrived at my hotel in Santorini at 6 am and of course no one was around because it's Europe and everyone is extremely lax hahaha. I slept outside on the concrete for 2 hours with some other stranded Americans until the hotel opened. We couldn't check in unlit noon, so we left our bags and went for a walk around Fira, despite being exhausted. Two hours later we never made it to the cities core but got lost amongst some lovely Greek homes and beautiful Orthodox churches (which happen to be on every block!!). We came back and after some confusion with the hotel actually ended up being put in the same room as the Americans. A top floor double room overlooking the Aegean Sea, our pool and Fira can't give us any reason to complain. The surprise fireworks in Fira just now added a nice touch too! Olivia arrives tonight and I'm so excited to start our adventures together ! Hopefully the money holds out hahaha, because I've already got a nice visa bill awaiting my arrival home in Canada !
