Hakumyu Hijikata Toshizou Party Special

Made a recoding of the 特別番組「もっと集まれ！土方歳三PARTY」　前篇 program that aired on jidaigeki that I'm now sharing.

I only take file requests by DM only and my bare minimum rule will not apply to this or the second part which I plan on recording when it airs in May.

Hakuoki Drama CD - Shimabara Disturbance Track 6 Translation

Well, this is the last track of the second drama I really wanted to have translated... which I honestly did first and finished back in May 2020. Lol. I did this one first since the tl I had was missing the cast comments but then someone uploaded it so i was able to finish this completely... 

Anyway, here’s the conclusion!

It probably says something about my interests when I saw the You Can Call Me Bill documentary in theatres that I was probably the youngest person in the audience. Also, I was able to post this right away since I translated this way back in January 2021... as I have a tendency to do shorter things first lol.

Now that this is done, I'm finally going to get to that Warframe update which I still have yet to start... also I don't think I'll be translating anything else this week since I want to try and finish one of my piano arrangements this week for Morimyu week... one of the side effects to having eye problems was that I did more music stuff since I just needed to do a lot of listening for that.

random Acrylic Stand split

I made an interest check earlier this week and got some response, so I'm making a proper post this time.

The goods for Shinkai Hijikata hen include these little acrylic stands of the characters. They come at 12cm x 5cm x 0.3cm and cost 800jpy per piece.

They are unfortunately fully random, it's not "buy a box, get them all" kind of random. That's why I would like to organise a group order to increase our chances of getting the characters we want (the first 4, in my case).

Joining in this group order would come with a few conditions:

Priority of Hijikata, Chizuru, Okita and Saitou will go to me, and Kazama to @ununotter

There is no guarantee you'll get all the character(s) you want (but I'll do my best)

Characters will be assigned on a first come, first served basis

You will get the amount you sign up for

Signing up is definite (no withdrawing when the result isn't exactly what you asked for)

For example: For person 1 (1 piece, wishes for Harada, Chizuru, Amagiri), person 2 (3 pieces, wishes for Heisuke, Shinpachi, Harada) and myself (3 pieces), we buy 7 pieces in total. The result is Hijikata, Amagiri, Koudou, Okita, Harada, Harada, Heisuke. I would get Hijikata and Okita. Person 1 would get a Harada. Person 2 would get Harada and Heisuke. Amagiri and Koudou would then be divided between me and person 2, so we both get the 3 pieces we signed up for.

Hijikata: Hah... Your hair, which had been done up into a bun, is all messed up. Can you call Osen? She can help you with your hair again.

(door opens and closes after Chizuru leaves)

Hijikata: Hey, Heisuke, why are you so panicked? Did you do something that you're ashamed of?

Toudou: It's not like that! It's just that she suddenly came close that I panicked. We were talking about asking Chizuru about what a woman/girl would do.

Harada: We got sidetracked halfway though.

Hijikata: Things that women do?

Okita: It's quite pitiful that she always has to wear men's clothes, so we just wanted to do something for her. But it appears that Demon Vice-Commander-san doesn't think that.

Hakuoki Drama CD - Shimabara Disturbance Track 2 English translation

Heya, I know this is late... but my eye problems continued until the symptoms got better last Tuesday, on April 2nd. Long story short, I had difficulties keeping my eyes physically open without them feeling irritated or hurting after 6pm, which really cut away my time to translate for the past two weeks as I normally translate in the evenings, which didn’t help when I was actively cutting back on my screen time while that happened. Overall, my symptoms seemed to have cleared up for the most part since I started using Hypochlorous acid as recommended by my optometrist and I have thankfully stopped needing to walk around with a damp towel everywhere for relief. 

Anyway, I decided to post these as soon as I finish them to make up for the post-less March... I’m about a quarter way through track 3 (it and track 4 are over 10min), but I already have 5 and 6 done so it hopefully won’t take too long? I’m really sorry bout that!

Also, for various reasons, I've decided not to tag the characters for the rest of this drama for the time being. I'll tag them a week after I post the last track... if I remember to.

(door opens)

Saito: Ah! Yu-Yukimura! No, I wasn't doing anything. Anyway, can I have some of your time? There's something I wanted to tell you...

Saito: Nn, then, excuse me.

(door closes)

Saito: Yukimura, um, ermhm... What I'm going to say isn't important, no, not only is it a trivial matter that doesn't matter at all... Um.... 

(footsteps from outside)

Harada: Hey, Chizuru, you there?

(Door opens)

Harada: Fu... Sorry, looks like you already have a guest? 

Saito: No, it's fine, you have something to speak about?

Sen: Do you understand how cruel you all are to her?

Saito; We have our own circumstances. 

Sen:....

Saito: But, what you say is understandable. 

Sen: Eh.

Saito: I did say that I wanted to speak to you. I just want Yukimura to be able to dress in a beautiful kimono/I want Yukimura to wear a beautiful kimono [can be interpreted either way]. Would it be possible to borrow a room at Shimabara? If she goes there, she’ll be able to act as a woman as she wishes to

Sen: Ah, Chizuru-chan will definitely be happy! Then, leave all the preparations to me! I'll bring out our most beautiful kimono! I also have to tell Kimigiku about this too!

So... I'm super tired. My sleep schedule had been royally screwed up so I could stay awake for the LSO exam... where I was awake for most of the night and slept during the day like a rasetsu since I cannot for the life of me feel energized at 8 am in the morning, and that is what it took for me to feel not exhausted for an exam in the morning lol.

Anyway, my eyes are acting up again (fourth fucking time...), so I won't be translating until they get better... which will probably just mean that I won't post until next week since each this time this has happened, my eyes have experienced irritation for a week at the longest.

Also, I think I will be translating the original Hakumyu Saito-hen given the responses I got from that poll I did a while ago... thank you to those that responded.

Hakumyu Saito-hen Translations

So... I'm pretty sure that most people who haven't been able to join the original Hakumyu fancom on LJ know that the original Saito-hen's subtitles can only be obtained from the original fancom... though I've acquired Chinese subtitles of the musical recently.

Assuming that no one else is re-translating the original Saito-hen right now, should I work on translating it (though I will most definitely be cutting corners on the songs and using other translations I've been given permission to use since I have like absolute zero creativity when it comes to lyrics)?

(Note: If I do commit to doing this, this will result in a severe decrease in normal Hakuoki translations until I finish with them)

Please don't choose the last option unless you mean it (also dm me who actually is just to prove it's not a fraudulent vote)... in which case I will not (I despise the idea of project sniping), though I intend to finish the Shimabara Disturbance drama before I do anything related to this.

For the record, it is not possible to contact the original translator(s?) of Saito-hen and Okita-hen as I've asked about that before.
