Staying in the library while other students went to their club rooms became a part of your routine. You felt a sense of comfort within the dark oak shelves and the scent of books. The silence enveloped the entire room—a remedy after long hours of chaos within the classroom. You stayed in this very library until Charles’ soccer practices would finish—which he then goes over to you with the cheeky grin he always wore.

It hadn’t been long since the classes ended—but as usual—you were already engrossed in the novel you were reading. The chair across you shifted, you paid no mind as you obviously aren’t the only student who comes to the library. A minute might have passed, or two, maybe three before the person’s index finger went on top of your book and pushed it down.

You were immediately snapped out of your daydreams and were greeted by no other than your boyfriend's annoyed pout. Surprise washed over your collected demeanour.

"Charles?" You spoke up, still a bit surprised. "About time you noticed me, ma chérie!" He responded with a light huff before the librarian from who knows where hushed him. He scowls after being hushed, looking like a scolded stubborn child.

"Don’t you have full time practice today?" You questioned. His hand immediately drags to his chest feigning hurt. "Ow, just say that you hate being around me!" You couldn’t help but be amused by your boyfriend’s antics. Noticing your having no response, he sighed and continued.

"Well, yeah! But practice was soooo boring. Not even a single person on the field was able to receive any of my passes!" You stifled your laugh—he was always like this, at this point, you shouldn’t even question it anymore. "So you decided to run away?" Your voice cracking—a laugh trying to spill out.

"Hell yeah! I was sneaky with it, you know? You should’ve seen me go into the lockers and bolted straight to here!" He tales like a child who was able to steal an ice pop from the farthest back of the freezer.

"Uhuh, sure. But you should definitely go back to pract—"

"Blah blah blah" He covers his ears. 'What a child!' You immediately shut your mouth, and when he noticed so, he put his hands down too.

"You should appreciate me finding time for you more, ma chérie!" Before you could respond—he continues. The nerve!

"And no matter how many times you tell me to go, I simply won’t! 'cause I’m a contrarian, remember?" You deadpanned.

Right. Whatever you say falls into his deaf ears. Right.

But you thought about it, "So, if I tell you to stay, will you go to your practice instead?" No answer. Guess that scores something.

"Then will you stay with me, mon chere?" You tried to be slick, but of course—

"I knew you loved me!" He grinned, immediately pushing himself out of the chair and over the table to fling himself onto you. "Huh?" You were taken aback.

"Thought you were a—" "Exceptions, ma chérie. Exceptions." There really wasn’t any winning against this boy.

You heave a sigh, your fingers running into his blonde locks. He took a seat—this time—beside you.

"Aren’t you going to get scolded by your coach that you’re cutting practice like.. the third time this week?" Concern was written all over your face. On the other hand, he was all smug and carefree. "So what~? Not my fault that it gets so boring without you around!" His head immediately falls onto your lap.

"Now, come on. I need my dose of your attention." There it is again. That shit-eating grin of his, because he knows full well you’d do anything he wants.

"You’re truly insufferable" your fingers cradle his soft hair. "Yet you still stay" he retorts with content. You couldn’t help but laugh at his response. After all, it was true.

You both were lost in each other's comfortable silence. Well that is before he sat back up.

"Something wrong, Charles?" You tilt your head in confusion. He had a simple smile—but his eyes glinted with playfulness. "What antic do you have up your sleeve this time?" Your brow raised and a half smile plastered on your lips.

"Spoil me" huh.

"What do you—" "Kisses" at this point he seemed like a dog wagging his tail full of excitement. "I don’t know if I’m dating a boy or a baby" you sighed with a smile.

Your hands cupped his face as you planted small kisses on his cheeks, forehead, the tip of his nose, and the sides of his lips. He was enjoying this a little bit too much—as much as you were too.

Then someone ran towards your table. He stopped. His hands on his knees and his breathing ragged. You both stopped your lovey-dovey momentum to look at the panting boy.

"C-charles—" the poor boy huffed, "coach— coach is furious at you" he continued. Charles immediately dulled, "Tell him I’m skipping—" "Nah, dude. He threatened us with 100 pushups if you don’t show up for the next 10 minutes!"

Charles let out a groan. "Fine! I’ll be there..after 10 minutes that is" he cockily grinned before you hit his head with your novel. "You’re going now whether you like it or not, Charles." His head whipped faster than light towards you. "But—!" "We’ll buy macarons on our way home after. My treat"

He stood up. Like completely stood still. "Ma’am, yes, ma’am!" He saluted. He really was a fool.

You waved him goodbye as he went out of the library with his teammate.

He really was a fool for you.. and macarons.
