What do you think of your twin?
Of Yuzu? [Puts food down and stares at Anon] Yuzu is amazing, though I don't really see what that has to do with you.
What, are you one of her secret admirers of something? Here.. Have this-- [Throws bowl at anon idly] --Yuzu made that. Now.. Go have your little fantasies elsewhere, hm?

Karin had hardly taken a bite out of her food, so it would seem suspicious if she were to get up and leave now, though she suddenly had an urge to. This man just happened to give off an aura that she didn't like. It was dangerous. Now, normally that wouldn't bother her--considering all the things she faced--but the man in front of her made her edgy, and she didn't like showing emotions like that. She preferred a calm atmosphere, a silent atmosphere.
Apparently she wouldn't get that, since the man started talking to her--sliding into the seat across from her. She stared determinedly down at her food, a passive expression on her face as she did so, nibbling on the concoction. She was used to strange foods, having known Orihime for a while, but this school really did come up with some odd combinations. She missed the simple and traditional style cooking her sister usually did.
She was planning on just finishing up her food and then leaving, without speaking to the man, but apparently he wasn't going to allow that if his question was anything to go by. The preteen raised a steady gaze and met the other's eyes, an impassive stare challenging his amused one.
"Kurosaki Karin," She answered calmly, pushing her food to the side--it just didn't seem appealing at the moment, even though she had come to the cafeteria starving.
Tumblr media
The girl sighed and glanced around the room, searching for a face that she knew wouldn't be there. Of course her twin wouldn't be present. She cooked for herself and quite a few other people, so it was rather obvious that she wouldn't be buying her food. She supposed she wasn't really looking for her sister, but rather a way to escape.
Seeing no exit she sighed again, and finally turned back to the man, meeting his disturbing eyes--she couldn't help but feel edgy again, with the way they looked at her.
"You're an Uchiha, right?" The raven finally decided to ask, seeing as the conversation wasn't going anywhere, due to her dull answer before. She had come to realize that most of the Uchiha's looked alike. Pale skin, black hair, dark eyes. Though she had only really met one of the Uchihas. Uchiha Sasuke, to be exact, though they hadn't talked in a while.
Karin, so far, didn't like that family. From what she had seen of Sasuke they were snappy and easy to anger. She just wasn't interested in things like that. The girl licked her lips and raised an eyebrow at the other, her grey eyes studying him.
"Yeah. You're an Uchiha. I can tell."
▹{[Madara&Karin]}◃
Another day of nothing to do. After the past events of people talking about a student named Grimmjow, and another named Nnoitra, nothing had actually happened around the school that was worth mentioning. Madara could’ve always graded the essays that had been turned in - if a student had actually turned theirs in. Since he always assigned obscene amounts of work, he never got the assignments in the next day. It couldn’t be helped.
The Uchiha really had nothing to do. There were no decent books around his office, nor were there any students that were causing mischief that he could get the tiniest bit of amusement out of. He silently wondered where the boy named Suigetsu was, since he normally caused mayhem throughout the school.
After getting up from his desk, Madara headed out of his classroom. If there was nothing to do there, he might as well look for amusement elsewhere. Of course, the question there was where he’d get it from.
A bored look in the obsidian eyes of the Uchiha, he made his way through the quiet halls of Iwakiri. Not a person in sight. Madara let out a quiet sigh, then changed his route. He had noticed a clock in the hallway and realized that it was lunch time, meaning almost all the students would be in the lunchroom. Now the question was who would be the one giving him the amusement.
The doors of the cafeteria swung open when Madara pushed against them. The amount of people who were standing around emptied when they saw who it was in the doorway, which caused the man to smirk. He always enjoyed the fact that he intimidated people.
Now to scan the room for victims. All the tables seemed to be filled, actually. That was slightly frustrating. Who was he to ‘talk’ to, when all the tables were filled?
And that’s when all his questions were answered.
There was a chair open at the table of a raven-haired girl. He was unsure of her name, but she seemed promising - to give him at least a tiny bit of amusement to last for a while.
Madara picked up an apple out of the lunch line before making a B-line towards the girl. Of course, by now she had already noticed him heading towards her.
“Need anything?”
Tumblr media
“Hm? Actually, I do,” he said plainly as he continued to make his way over towards the girl. “I need a place to sit - mind if I sit here?” he asked, sitting down in the chair across from the girl, not allowing her to answer. After taking a small bite of his apple, Madara finally spoke up to start a conversation,
“And your name would be?”

Today was uneventful. Strangely so. Usually she couldn't go a day at Iwakiri without something happening, or at least witnessing something happen. Though, again, the dullness might come from her avoiding the crowds. She had went from her dorm, to her class, to her dorm, and was now standing near the garden--her favorite place to think.
Why did she love it here? Simple. It was beautiful, and even a bit majestic. The flowers swayed in the wind, and usually the only sound was the song of the birds nearby. Though occasionally she could hear shouting in the background, coming from one of the more noisy students (her brother being one of those students).
The raven sighed and turned around, deciding to actually go to Iwakiri's cafeteria today, since she didn't have any lunch. She had told her sister not to make her any this week, since Karin had wanted to practice her cooking. The preteen just so happened to have burned everything, and was frankly getting tired of eating her clumpy attempts of food. And this was how she found herself sitting in an unoccupied corner of the large room, looking disdainfully at the food. Even though it was delectable, nothing compared to her twin's food. Karin had grown quite spoiled in that area.
The girl's head snapped up at the sound of approaching footsteps, and she looked curiously at the person who was walking toward her. "Need anything?"

Karin laughed quietly and raised an eyebrow at the other, challenging his statement. Oh? So he didn't look incapable, did he? That was a straight out lie, considering just how playful his pink hair, tail, and exuberant behavior made him seem.
"Ah, I don't know Hebi-kun, you look pretty incapable to me. You may not be incapable, but you sure do look it. How about you prove your worth by changing the baby next time? It'll be your turn anyways," The raven said, looking down at the pink-headed baby and smiling softly.
It was probably the weirdest thing Karin has ever experienced, looking into a set of eyes that almost perfectly matched her own. Especially since Kaiya's eyes just happened to look so intelligent, like they understood everything. Sometimes, she just didn't understand babies--and at that moment she would do anything to get into Kaiya's head.
Though, just then the preteen happened to realize what Hebi said, and her head snapped up. "No! You can't give her rides on your tail! She could get hurt.. Or.. If you do decide to give her rides on your tail, then do it over one of the beds, okay? So that if she falls it'll be on something soft."
Speaking of beds.. Karin's cheeks flushed a bit pink and she looked away, one of her hands idly playing with Kaiya's soft pink hair. According to the paper she had read, there would be two beds, so she really didn't need to worry.. But still, she was a teenage girl, and the thought of sleeping in the same room as a boy that she didn't really know was embarrassing. Though it really shouldn't matter, since this was their 'baby'.
Ugh, never mind. She really didn't want to think about that. So, instead of continuing to ponder the bedding situation, she spoke.
"Oi! Hebi-kun, which bed are you going to want? We're going to have to put Kaiya into a crib between then so that we can check on her throughout the night, but you'll still be able to choose which bed you want. It doesn't really matter to me, because I'll just take the one you don't choose."
O- Oi! Hebi! The baby's here!
Staring back into wide gray eyes, Hebi tilted his pink haired covered head to the side, confusion written all over his face. Was there something on it? They stared at each other for a couple of more seconds, the baby grabbing his tail and yanking it, though not enough for it to hurt, before Karin spoke again.
“You’re hopeless.”
Her words were quickly followed by the baby being taken away from him, making the short boy pout in indignation. He hadn’t been doing that bad. It wasn’t his fault his wielder and partner were complete idiots who didn’t dignify themselves into talking about things like this to him. Of course, he didn’t even a word in before he was being dragged somewhere—which turned out to be the bathroom. What followed was probably the most awkward Hebi hoped to ever have. Distinguishing between a boy and a girl was easy—if not embarrassing. Though he swore to himself to never, ever, ever, EVER, if he could help it, change a diaper. It was too much work, and weird.
“See? Now Kaiya’s all nice and clean,”
That broke him from his distracted thoughts and he looked down at the smiling baby, raising a pink eyebrow as Karin bent down and kissed the top of the baby’s head. She sure was enjoying this. But staring back down at wide, innocent gray eyes, Hebi couldn’t help but feel a bubble of excitement run through him. She really was so cute.
“Your dad’s not as incapable as he looks. He’s just a bit clueless about the real world.. But, hey, I’ll teach him, right? Your mom won’t let you get hurt…”
The words—he didn’t know why—made a blush streak across his pale face, nicely matching his hair.
“I’m not incapable, and I don’t look it either! And how many times do I have to say it? It’s not my fault those other two are humongous idiots,” he said, trying to defend himself, the flush on his face not receding however.
“Gah! This is so weird,” Hebi whined, scrubbing his face with his small hands in hopes of dispelling whatever weirdness had come over him, “I’m not gonna hurt you Kaiya,” he said, this time directly at the baby, patting it gently on the head, “I’m gonna be the best daddy ever and give you rides on my tail,” he grinned, receiving a wide smile from the baby in response.

Karin's smile grew a bit more at her sister's enthusiasm, and she couldn't help but roll her eyes. Her sister really was weird, though, again--everyone in the Kurosaki family was weird. They always had been, and there was really no changing that.
"Hey, you're not supposed to laugh at me, Yuzu," The raven mumbled, scratching at her head self-consciously. It wasn't her fault she was crap at cooking.. Her sister had tried teaching her before, but the preteen just never got the hang of it.
Sure, Karin could memorize things.. But that's not all there was to cooking. It took skill too, and she just happened to lack that. That's why she had opted to just be the strong one in the family, since that was all she could do. Instead of cooking she wouldn't cry. Simple.
"Oh! Uhm.. You don't have to clean. This is a surprise for you, so you shouldn't have to work."
Surprise? @Yuzu

She deadpanned, staring at the shorter boy curiously. There was no way in hell he was serious. No way in hell. Though, after staring at him for a moment longer, she soon realized that..
"You're hopeless."
Karin took a slow step forward--paused, and then snatched the baby out of Hebi's arms, afraid that unless she explained the basics of child care to him, he would end up killing the poor thing. Without further waiting, the raven tucked the baby into one of her arms, so that she had a free one, and grabbed Hebi's wrist, dragging him into the bathroom, where she would teach him how to change a diaper.
There was no way she was going to care of the baby all by herself, without at least a little help. And this is exactly why Karin found herself explaining to Hebi how to tell apart a girl and a boy, moving on quickly when that subject finished, and showing him how to change a diaper. She even made sure to tell him to use baby powder in the diaper, so that the baby didn't get a rash. She didn't even care that most people would have faltered in this subject, due to it's awkwardness. The raven had never understood why people would be shy about subjects like this.
"See? Now Kaiya's all nice and clean," Karin smiled, staring down at the cooing baby, before bending down and kissing it's forehead, though she didn't even realize what she was doing, until she felt the baby's hand come up and caress her cheek--almost as if it were as curious about her as she was about it.
"Don't worry, Kaiya," She said softly, "Your dad's not as incapable as he looks. He's just a bit clueless about the real world.. But, hey, I'll teach him, right? Your mom won't let you get hurt..."
O- Oi! Hebi! The baby's here!
Seeing the arm reach over his shoulder and towards the baby, and lifting the little thing up. Standing up and watching as Karin checked it, Hebi almost dropped it when it was suddenly dumped—placed really, he just likes to exaggerate—in his arms, hands automatically snaking around it to hold it up. Securing it tight against his chest, he turned glaring blue eyes at the taller girl. Though before he could say anything, she was already speaking.
“Oh Kami-sama, yes—it’s a girl. Definitely a girl. Say, Hebi, you’re first, okay? You can change the diaper,”
Mouth making an ‘o’, Hebi looked down at the pink haired little baby girl, poking her cheek—with his tail since his arms were busy—once more. Before looking up at Karin again.
“How do you know if it’s a girl?” he asked, completely oblivious, before tilting his head to the side, “Change the diaper? What’s that?” he added, small pink eyebrows furrowing as the taller girl wiped her hands on her shirt. Was the baby dirty? Tail still poking the baby’s soft cheek, Hebi smiled. It really was very cute.
Glancing up—when had he gone to looking down at the baby once more he didn’t know—as Karin asked about her name. Frankly, he didn’t have a single idea. He had been planning on just naming it ‘It’ or something, though his smile widened at the suggestion.
“Kaiya…” he repeated, looking down at the pink haired baby. At that moment, she let out a soft, cooing sound and Hebi nodded, “I think she likes it!”

She glanced over when she heard Hebi come stand beside her, though she found herself staring at the baby not long after. It really was adorable, though she wouldn't admit that. If she was anything, it was stubborn. Well.. About certain things, at least. She was a pushover when it came to her sister.
"'What do I think it is'? What do you mean by that?" Karin looked over at him again, raising an eyebrow skeptically. He was asking about the gender, right? Because he wasn't stupid enough to be asking, literally, what it was. She hoped he wasn't at least. Because if he turned out to be, then she'd have a hell of a time taking care of the baby.
The raven bent down beside Hebi and the baby, reaching an arm out hesitantly to lift it up. And then a second later---
"Oh Kami-sama, yes--it's a girl. Definitely a girl. Say, Hebi, you're first, okay? You can change the diaper," The preteen basically shoved the cute baby into his arms, though she was sure to be careful. Just because she had seen something horrible, didn't mean she was careless enough to hurt the innocent thing.
Karin wiped her hands on her shirt, though there was really no reason to, and took a step away from the two similar looking balls of doom--Hebi and the baby.
"So," She began, acting as if she hadn't just given a human time bomb to her partner, "What should we name her?" Karin paused, and looked away--almost shyly--before continuing. "I've always liked the name Kaiya, because it means forgiveness.. But--Anyways. Do you have any ideas?"
O- Oi! Hebi! The baby's here!
Scrolling down the Academy’s network ‘dash’ [someone people call it that so Hebi decided to call it that as well], Hebi rolled his eyes at many things, chuckled at others and then completely stopped as he saw one that caught his eye.
Tumblr media
The babies were there already?! Looking down at the bottom right of the computer screen—as Renji taught him that that was where the date and hour of each day was located—Hebi saw that the babies were scheduled for today. But, so early in the morning? Well, whatever. With a shrug, the short boy jumped from the chair and walked over to the suspicious looking apartment complex. [Again, it was a word he had seen in the Headmaster’s post.] The walk didn’t take long—or maybe he had been jogging so what—but the building that greeted his sight was impossible to miss and eye narrowing worthy. Just where the hell did this thing come from anyways?
Another shrug, Hebi opened the door, going to the center desk and asking where his and Karin’s room was supposed to be. Second floor, left, third door on the right was what the suspicious looking attendant told him. After getting lost a couple of times—he forgot alright?—the pink haired boy found a slightly ajar door and after peeking in found the correct place.
Seeing Karin bent over a wiggling bundle, Hebi quickened his pace, but before he could say anything, the dark haired girl spoke. Heh, nice.
“Yo, Hebi, over here. Come look at this thing.. It’s absolutely hideous.”
Coming to a stand besides the taller girl, Hebi looked down at what looked to be like a smaller—way smaller—version of himself. Pink hair and all. Though, as it opened its eyes and glanced back and forth between the them too, Hebi was greeted with gray eyes—just like Karin’s. Looking back up at the awe struck girl—he could tell, he wasn’t that stupid—the pink haired boy grinned.
“Don’t lie to yourself! It’s cute—it looks like us after all,” he said, bending down and poking it on the cheek.
“What do you think it is?”

O- Oi! Hebi! The baby's here!
The raven didn't hate children. Honestly--she didn't. But to say that she adored them would be a lie. She didn't really care for them at all. The last time she had seen a baby had been back at home, and that had only been at the market. She hadn't even stopped to look at it. Actually, in her opinion, all babies were hideous. Their faces were misshapen, they were usually balled, and they did nothing but barf, poop, cry, and sleep.
So, after all of this, why was Karin awake early, dressed, and zooming out of her dorm to find the house that would be assigned to her and Hebi? And why in hell was she so excited? Also, when she was thinking about it, why was she-- Wait.. No.. Why was she at the house already? She hadn't been running that fast.
The preteen stopped in front of the large building, bending over to catch her breath. Then, before she could chicken out, she barged into the house and marched into the living room (only stopping for a minute to take in the elegant architecture) where she found the baby.
But... Why was it so.. cute?
Tumblr media
Karin stared in surprised at the infant, taking in it's stunning hair--which was a pink that almost perfectly matched Hebi's--and it's soft sleeping face. Really, what was with the headmaster's sense of humor? The baby looked like it could have actually come from her and Hebi... Which was quite disturbing.
She was silent for a while, staring at the baby, until she heard the door open again, and quick footsteps entering the house.
"Yo, Hebi, over here. Come look at this thing.. It's absolutely hideous." Okay, maybe she was lying with the last part. Maybe she was only saying that to be stubborn. But, that didn't matter--because just then the baby's eyes fluttered open, and surprised Karin once again.
It had her eyes...

Damn it, what's with you? You're so care free... This baby won't make it through the week... Oi! Hebi.. I'm counting on you not to do anything too reckless, alright? Don't harm the baby or anything, okay?
Well, I ‘grew up’ with Renji and Saru, that has to count for something right? I mean, they’re pretty big idiots!
Tumblr media
We…don’t? Ooooh~ No throwing it, dropping it, sitting on it, or eating it, got it! [nodnod]…I mean…what? >w> I’ll be the most careful ever!

You'd be mean too, if you grew up with the idiots I did. [Small laugh] I guess that's true. We don't get free food unless we win, though, so we have to keep the baby alive. Which means no throwing it, dropping it, sitting on it.. Or--.. Just be careful, okay?

With parents like us there’s no way it’ll be ugly [griiiin] *doesn’t know what he’s talking about but read it on the headmaster’s post*
…Right..
[Smile] If you say so, Hebi-kun. At least it’ll be better looking than most of the other babies.

After she had left the note for her sister, Karin had got to work. She knew that it was going to take her all day to get it perfect--well, not even perfect, but still good--and so she set out early to work.
Really, time flew by. Failed attempt after failed attempt the hours passed, and before the raven knew it, it was evening. Any minute now her sister would be arriving. And just as the preteen finished her last attempt, the door opened, and in came her excited looking twin.
"Oh, hey," Karin said sheepishly, smiling faintly at her sister--flour covering almost every surface in the girl's dorm room (at that moment she was very glad she didn't have a roommate), including the dark-haired girl herself. "I-- Uhm.. I made you a cake.."
Surprise? @Yuzu
Hey Yuzu, I have something I want to show you, if you’d come to my dorm later today. I’ve been practicing, and I think you’ll really like it - though I can’s say what, since it’s a surprise. I’ll be waiting.
— kurosaki-karin
Yuzu had just entered her room when she spied the folded note on her desk and seeing that it was from her sister she hurriedly read it.
A surprise hmmm…
She was feeling rather curious as to what her twin had planned so abandoning her homework she made a quick beeline for Karin’s dorm room. It had been awhile since she and her twin had been able to spend time together what with all the work the school had been dumping on them recently so she was really looking forward to seeing her.
