This blog will no longer be maintained, any and all questions regarding the themes I have released here will not be answered.

I will not be retiring any designs I have released here, but they will be available as is, meaning that they will not be maintained, nor will they be updated should Tumblr roll out new updates, and I will not fix broken themes. I will also no longer provide support.

Welcome to Pneuma Themes! I'm Rizu, a 20-something years old girl working as your neighborhood software/quality engineer and the webmistress of this little corner on the Internet where I escape the daily lines of codes I encounter daily by making questionable design decisions at 12 AM.

This blog is made as a response to my concern that my identity at kuzuriha no longer accommodates me as a person and as a creative outlet and the fact that starting from scratch is far easier than revamping the entire portfolio I have over there since 6, 7 years ago. I previously stated on the blog that one of the reasons I'm not creating any more themes is I don't want to deal with lines of codes after work, but in reality, I really miss creating themes. This is one of the few creative outlets I have, and while I might not be as talented or my themes might not be as pretty or beautiful as everyone's else here, it is the thought of sharing what I create and people finding that what I created suits their taste that brings me back here.

I am looking forward to creating things again and sharing my creations with you all!

i might...rebrand? start fresh? i don’t know at this point of time. this blog has been with me for more than 7 years and it’s always on the back on my mind and this is my baby even if this blog went into complete silence for almost six, seven months. i might not be as good as others at this trade, my designs might be uninspired and i recognize that but i am proud of every single theme i did even if i get discouraged sometimes (well, a lot of times, honestly).

but i also have outgrown my identity of 7 years ago. i no longer feel this identity can accommodate me, and it’s bugging me.

nothing is set in stone at this point. i will definitely return but under a new brand or still staying here, i don’t know. well, i will see you guys around.

An update

I’m honestly not sure who notices me but anyway. I don’t know when I will back with a new theme or anything at all --I will still be around periodically to reblog things but I am not sure when I will release a new code as I’m now a full time developer and I don’t want to deal with chunks of code after work. fixing empty images in themes

When removing an image from an image option in your customization panel, tumblr designates an “empty” transparent image in its place, with the url https://assets.tumblr.com/images/x.gif?v=1.

However as of July 23rd 2021, I’ve noticed that tumblr decided to add “hide” to those empty images. It detects the transparent image url, then adds a randomly generated attribute name, which has the property of display:none!important. This can be counter productive to the functionality of most themes out there, as an “empty” image should still take up space. but display:none doesn’t appear at all.

Interestingly, this issue only happens to <img> images. Images declared via background-image:url() are not affected.

To fix this, paste the following before the closing body tag </body> in your theme’s html (jQuery is not required):

var imgs = document.querySelectorAll("img"); Array.prototype.forEach.call(imgs, function(invis){ if(invis.src.indexOf("assets.tumblr.com/images/x.gif") > -1){ invis.setAttribute("src","https://cdn.glitch.com/bdf00c8f-434a-46d9-a514-ec8332ec176a/1x1.png"); } });

This script targets all images, and if the image url matches the transparent one from tumblr, it replaces it with another transparent image. This will stop tumblr from automatically adding a hide function to empty images.

character/member/muse page with featuring a flickity carousel and navigation. i’ve tried to make this as responsive as possible, so the images are not set height/widths. try use HD photos - they’ll position themselves automatically. this thing can be a bit difficult and confusing to customise, so please only use if you have a fair idea how to edit a custom page - there is some notes in the code but it assumes a basic understanding.

Nyiur

Nyiur is a header Tumblr theme for writing-heavy blogs. It’s simple and clean with readable fonts. A good theme for writers and blogger, but not limited for others. A redesign of my old theme that was made in 2016, under the same name.
