Scammer pretending to be Palestinian v4
The purpose of this post is to compile a quick list of accounts confirmed to be stealing their information off of legitimate fundraisers or otherwise are shown to be taking their posts off Facebook and using it themselves. This list is intended to be a quick access point so if searched someone will see info explaining why the blog they shared from is a scam. Before asking if a blog is a scam, please refer to this post for better details regarding these particular scams:
Please keep in mind this post isn’t to say all Palestinian blogs needing aid are scammers; Rather, the purpose of this post is just to keep track of the accounts that scammers are using. As it goes on for months on end, this post may update accordingly with new urls so please make sure you’re checking the original post if viewing a reblog. You can see a few sources here for commonly used content stolen by scammers. You can find the third version of this list here.
As of 4/27/2024, here is the list of current scam accounts:
| fuzzyyouthcreation | nightpeacemaker | maddiemartines | shtunbsing | happilydopepirate | naomiglowy | severepandacomputer | reallyatomicinternet | scentedwinnerlady | oneahamdihamed | tenaciouspiratetyphoon
Names below are associated with these scammers, and may appear across multiple accounts. This is an entirely new list as the other one may have names that no longer are used. These names often are from real people being impersonated. They are not linked, related to, or associated to the person they may claim to be.
Rawan Abu'M (this name is impersonating a real person from a legitimate GoFundMe.) | maryline Otieno | Nicholas Ochieng | Jeff Owino | Grahy Marwa | Taheera Abdallah | Gloria Naomi | Amisi Twaleh | Salima Abdallah
To report scam accounts: Report -> Something Else -> Illegal uses or Content -> Phishing (If possible)
What else to do: Alert anyone sharing the scam posts and show them it’s a scam by linking to any post that explains how.

Is @ Haneenatya a scam blog? They didn't send me an ask like most do and instead followed me, but idk the fact they aren't that old of a blog, didn't answer me on their blog when I asked about something that confused me about their gofundme description, but instead sent me an ask? I geuss that could be just being new to the platform, but idk it feels odd, feels like they didnt want the question on their blog for some reason, what do you think?
As I’ve stated before, some Palestenians are new to tumblr and don’t quite know how to work it. And as I also state, not every one of them asking for mutual aid is a scammer. I also would like to point out that that the blog doesn’t show the common signs I explain in my posts and links to their own fundraiser which isn’t something scammers would generally do, as the scammers I show would link to a PayPal account and not the fundraiser they stole from. They likely don’t know how to use tumblr properly, and figured sending an ask would work just as fine. As long as they gave you what you were asking about, there’s nothing on the account that would raise my suspicions.
Though I would suggest someone please tell newcomers to not spam tag their posts with tags unrelated to the content otherwise not directed toward the one I’m being asked about. Just in general.

Some simple tips to figuring out what might be a scam post:
1. How a long ago was the mutual aid post made? Is it the only original post on the account or is there several more? Regular users may make several posts regarding their situation or have some memes or just daily life occurrences.
2. Has the blog interacted with anyone beyond sending an ask? Are the reblogs all from a trending topic? How many posts does the blog have? Are there many, or a few? Some accounts may make a few posts then only answer asks.
3. Will the account answer any simple questions you asked? If you nicely ask them to clarify important details, do they give acceptable answers that make sense? If they want insulin, what happens if you send them a link to resources to help with the cost? Take into consideration that someone needing aid would answer your offer appropriately.
4. Is the account very new or very old? Are the posts made within minutes of the rest? If you check other notes with timestamps on, are the reblog dates matching with what the post says? If you find a date doesn’t match, what happens when you ask the account about it? This is usually something to keep in mind when you get asks for aid if you barely get asks in general.
5. Did the account send you an ask that seems off? If you search the ask, what do you find? Are there other accounts who sent the same ask with the same pfp? Often there is constant repetition of the same ask, pfp, and story.
6. If you find another account had a similar ask being sent out, what happens if you ask the sender about the previous blogs? What do they tell you? Take the answer they give you into consideration before coming to a conclusion.
7. If an account wants you to DM them via sending an ask, ask them why they prefer DMs instead of asks and if they just want money from you. This may happen if your DMs are limited to only those you follow.

oneahamdihamed just popped up while searching around, it’s the same scammer as the others just now starting up another scam attempt. Don’t give them money once their post gets the PayPal added.

Gonna take a break for the rest of today since I’m home from my week long vacation. Just pretty tired overall and almost didn’t know if we’d get here since mom’s keys were acting up.
I’ll answer asks and update things tomorrow morning since I’ll be less tired.
On the other hand, my injury from my fall is healed up now and doesn’t hurt as much as it was when I left a week ago. It doesn’t look as bad as it did when I left either. Still a little sore, but it’s better.

Hey! Soo when I get scam asks, I really want to call them out in answering it and say nope publicly but is this a wise choice? Or should I just report them? Because I’m thinking that they’ll know I’m onto them & can delete their account and start over or report me even. I just know you get harassed by them a lot so idk if it’s a good thing to call them out directly lol but also it could be good?😂
Also I hope you’re good and enjoyed your vacation!
Answering and calling them out is fine, that way if people search around they’ll see asks that call out the scammer.
They harass me but their asks are usually kinda lame tbh lol
It was fun!~

But Kyra if I may say something. A Palestinian saying that detailed scam guides might be doing harm is different than a random person on the internet saying so. There are arguments to be made but since this is within our community (that is tumblr community) and we have control over it, we might as well listen to Hussein, who is palestinian. If all of us who know how to scam spot help you and other scam busters when we come across such asks. Maybe that can solve some of the issues that you intended with such detailed post?
Our opinions on scammers and how to deal with them can vary. I know Hussein is Palestinian and that’s why I try to tell people to search around before they go around bothering other Palestinian users. There is plenty of guides written by me that would answer a good few asks I often get.
I was tagged in a post and made my own post stating stuff, had a discussion regarding opinions, and that was that. I’m not the only scam buster, there are more out there.
I will continue doing what I do. And that’s updating my lists and guides when possible while posting sources to my other account.
(Not really sure if I understood what you were saying completely, but I hope I did.)

I think I’ve gotten most of the new accounts here. Please let me know if I missed any.
Scammer pretending to be a Palestinian v3
Now running their scam for about 2 months straight, this scammer is known to take their posts from real GoFundMe’s (Examples of used content) and reuse them as their own even going as far as impersonating the real Palestinian who created the original fundraiser. One of the common tactics is that you’ll get their asks if you regularly share Palestine content on your blog. Please check to see how old the pinned post is and see if you find its contents elsewhere if you search part of the post in a preferred search engine. Be aware that the scam accounts listed here are not the owners of any GoFundMe’s and will usually claim they have one pending. Their pfps are almost always images stolen off the fundraisers too.
As of 4/26/2024, here is the current list of scam accounts pretending they are someone in Palestine needing mutual aid:
generouslovewolf | maddiemartines | shtunningd/ shtunbsing | nightpeacemaker | fuzzyyouthcreation | almostoptimisticsheep
Not pretending to be in Palestine but from somewhere else using the names the same scammer uses:
(TBA)
And here is a growing list of names the scammer has used. These may often be reused for different scams later on so keep an eye out for them when you get asks from relatively new accounts:
Nour Samar | maryline lucy | Fred Odhiambo | Jeff Owino | Valentine Nakuti | Conslata Obwanga | JACINTA SITATI | David Okoth | Martín Mutugi | Daudi Likuyani | William Ngonyo | Fred Agy | George Ochieng | BONFACE ODHIAMBO | Sila Keli | John Chacha | benson komen | Alvin Omondi | Jacinta Sitati | Daudi Likuyani | Noah Keter | Faith Joram | Rawan AbuMahady (any PayPal’s using this name are scammers who have stolen it off a real GoFundMe. The real person does not have a PayPal account that they post on tumblr.) | Asnet Wangila | Remmy Cheptau | HAMDI AHMED | Johy Chacha | Aisha Mahmood | Salima Abdallah | Raha Habib | JOSEPH AYUGI
How to report scam accounts: Report -> Something Else -> Illegal uses or Content -> Phishing
Please keep in mind this post isn’t to say all Palestine mutual aid blogs are scams! Rather, this post is meant to explain that there is a scammer pretending to be one and stealing posts from real ones. They will always reblog only a few Palestine posts and then reblog nothing else aside from answering asks.
If you happen to find a new one, please let me know! This is a new version of the previous one.

Some quick tips to spotting accounts that are pretending to be a Palestinian needing mutual aid. Please keep in mind that not all of them are scam accounts, and that some may legitimate blogs who just aren’t too knowledgeable on how tumblr works. This guide is based around what I go by when checking certain blogs and usually it’s a quick giveaway the blog is a scam.
1. You was sent the ask as someone who regularly shares Palestine related content such as regular news updates of posts by other Palestinians who are regularly giving updates. You may also get these asks from sharing a popular post that is from the Palestine tag. If you post often about Palestine, you will always start getting these asks. These askers don’t care if you state don’t send the asks. They will anyway. Unfortunately minors also get sent asks.
2. The ask has odd formatting such as having odd quotation marks in it or unusual formatting that may indicate it’s been edited and copied from somewhere else. Often the ask is the same thing as the post itself minus a link to a donation site. These asks rarely change so searching it should pull up if it’s been sent to other bloggers.
3. The account is almost always a few days old or a week old or long depending on how often they have sent asks.
4. The blog has a few Palestine related posts or posts from random tags reblogged to pad out length and then no more. They will have no original posts besides the pinned post while occasionally answering asks that they may have received but otherwise nothing else and no further updates given either.
5. They may have a Linktree link that is called “GoFundMe” as if indicating they have a GoFundMe there. However, they don’t. When clicked on, the Linktree actually goes to a PayPal account whose name may not even match the one their supposed name is. They’ll say it’s a friend, but it’s just the same person not someone else. You’ll see this same name across multiple accounts after a while usually giving away it’s not legitimate even under a different theme.
6. The text used by the blogs are often real stories stolen from legitimate fundraisers and searching parts of it in your preferred search engine should pull up the sources. These sources make no mention of a tumblr account either or don’t have the PayPal account associated with them in the info. Scammers often impersonate a real person in need and will ignore you if you show them the source they copied from.
6. Legitimate Palestinians often link to their own GoFundMe posts that their friends have set up or post links to other social platforms they are found on. They will regularly post updates when possible, post sources to support them when necessary, and also generally have some method of verifying their legitimacy. They may often share links to support others as well or give links to charities that have been shown as reliable. They will have more original posts than just a single pinned one and regularly speak to other tumblr accounts beyond just an ask. Please don’t bother them with asks about possible scam accounts. There are many guides out there that can do that for you if you search.
7. Scammers don’t know anything about Palestine and will often have trouble once you ask them anything beyond the mutual aid post. They don’t know the languages decently and you can tell it pretty easily if you’re one who uses it regularly. Whatever the scammers use is often just copied off the site they got the post from.
8. These scammers can and will use names stolen off real Palestinians to look more legitimate and trustworthy. They change names constantly once one of their PayPal accounts is shut down.
Please don’t let these scams deter you from sending support where it needs to go. Even if you can’t donate personally, there are other ways to help. If you are sending money, please make sure that it’s going to where it’s needed and the place it’s sent has been verified accordingly. If you find a blog is a scammer, and have been able to prove it, please make sure to alert anyone sharing the post and report the account.
