Fenoglio is around 65 years old and secretly hates ageing, so he dyes his greying hair black (and it looks obvious)

Mo and Resa originally met due to the fact that they both used the same library, and saw each other in there all the time. Eventually, Mo plucked up the courage to ask her out for a coffee

Fulvio (the Black Jacket that disappears in the church) was a local taken from a nearby village and mentored by Basta

Basta’s name comes from his guardians as a child being relentlessly cruel to him and constantly shouting ‘enough’ whenever he did or said anything - OR - his real name is Sebastiano and he shortens it to Basta because he doesn’t like his real name and he appreciates the irony

Capricorn is in his late forties in Inkheart

When the Black Jackets want to send love letters to maids they fancy, they have to dictate them to the apprenticed local lads because they can’t write themselves

Eleanor had a relationship when she was younger but was heartbroken, and henceforth decided that being alone with her books was far better

Basta has tanned skin, black hair, which he wears slicked back, and dark eyes of indeterminate colour

Capricorn isn’t much good at anything except being powerful, he has no obvious talents in any field except violence

Basta has had to learn snippets of other languages in order to go and find copies of Inkheart printed in other countries, Flatnose has tried but isn’t any good at remembering

Dustfinger can also speak a couple of languages, as he often travelled from country to country

Mortola forces all the maids in relationships with Black Jackets to take herbal contraceptives, as Capricorn doesn’t want kids running around the village

you can love a character and still admit when they're wrong. I love basta but can acknowledge his flaws (he has none) and can hold him accountable for his wrongdoings (he's never done anything wrong in his life) and call him out for his actions (which are always correct)

They are a part of the motley folk and are originally from our world. Or Mo's, Meggie's, etc... (never know in this Fandom, do we :3)

I havent figured out every detail of their orogin yet but will soon. You will get to know them properly once I post the final Design.

Inkheart´s Basta

I´d be lying if I said I didn´t have a crush on him as a child...

This is actually pretty close to how I imagine him in my head, I´m happy. Yes, you can see the hint of his macabre necklace, and I chose to give him a carnation as the "red flower he wears like a warning".

No idea wether there´s even an Inkheart fandom to see this (@kyra7 @takahero ?), but here you are.
