TWIN PEAKS: THE RETURN (2017)
PART 11: THERE'S A FIRE WHERE YOU ARE GOING
omg so much happened. miriam is alive but barely? shelly jumped on the hood of a car and got flown off? the black hole? ruth's body was found, but they still haven't found major briggs head. and now william is dead. of course my favourite part of this episode was in the RR diner. but i do have one question and that is whether shelly ever actually works, she is always on the run from her job i swear. but i loved the scene between her and bobby. all scenes in the RR diner are so reminiscent of the original series, and the little kid who shot the gun then the lady who wouldn't stop honking and the kids in that car?? i have no clue whats going on. also i couldn't help but notice the 7even reference? with dougie and the box in the middle of nowhere. this episode was one of my favourites so far.
PART 12: LET'S ROCK
ok new member of the blue rose task force! i took a long break from this show but all i have been thinking about is twin peaks this whole time so thats saying something i fear. and maybe its because i took a break but i really appreciated the establishing and nature shots for some reason. i guess i've just missed being in this world and atmosphere. sarah palmer however, someone help her. like she is not ok and i do not blame her. and of course the moment i have been waiting for basically this whole season but audrey is here and she is back and better than ever. she looks so good and i can't wait for her to get more involved hopefully. i still have no inkling at all at what the ending of this show is going to be but i wouldn't be surprised at anything weird or just nothing if that were to be the case.

THE MATERIALISTS (2025)
i loved past lives and how celine song captured it. although i might have a bias that lead me to really enjoy this movie. usually i find slow movies boring but celine song does them so well. i had no thought once of what the time was and when is it over. i love how much talking between two people there are. i do agree however that the marketing for this movie did get it wrong, my impression going in was that it was going to be a classic almost comedy with these two guys fighting for dakota johnsons character. but instead it held so many conversations of dating and self image and worth, with a pretty sad undertone. i will say i loved the evolution of lucy going from the numbers and checking the boxes mindset to finally realising that none of that matters and instead its something that can't be explained. i really did enjoy the moments where dating and how people want to feel valuable and all this other stuff i think those moments were my favourite out of the whole movie. song's writing and direction is amazing but i can't get over her writing ability, the only word i can find to describe it is poetic and lovely. it's weird it makes me feel almost sentimental about peoples ability to converse and describe how they feel to each other and the audience. again my bias towards celine song might have made this film much better in my mind but i can't wait to see what she does next and hopes she makes movies forever and continues writing stories that hold so much depth and longing and beautiful words said.

BREAKING BAD; SEASON ONE (2008)
wow. starting another show. this is honestly groundbreaking for me because i am so much more of a movie person. but i am willing to continue. season one was a really solid start, it wasn't too long, it was just enough to get me intrigued you could say. of course my favourite character at the moment is jesse. because honestly he's a fashion icon i can't lie. i will say the start of it did go a little slow because i honestly expected the whole meth lab business to start pretty early on but of course we had to have a little setback to make duo and business even stronger. i don't dislike skylar and walt's family it's just these scenes i find the least interesting and so i don't care too much for them. i really enjoy when jesse and walt get to have some comedic moments those are my favourite parts so far. however i still really enjoyed it and i will be continuing on once i finally finish twin peaks return LOL. i would have more to say but honestly i finished season one a couple weeks ago and i have yet to continue on with season two so i don't remember absolutely everything, that's ok though i will get to it

10 THINGS I HATE ABOUT YOU
i haven't been watching anything recently. honestly i've been going through it and because of a man of all things. i rewrote the 10 things poem and wanted to share. it's not good really but i just want it out there especially because it's not like i can send it to him. i've been writing so much that i just want to send something out there into the world.
i hate the way you always find something to say, and the way you make me care.
i hate the way you make me aware.
i hate it when you look at me like that.
i hate how tall you are, or that you don’t seem to care.
i hate you so much that it makes me sick it even makes me cry.
i hate the way you’re so smart.
i hate it when you kiss me.
i hate it when you make me feel special, even worse when i feel invisible.
i hate that you’re not around, and the fact you didn’t try.
but mostly, i hate the way i don’t hate you not even close, not even a little bit, not even at all.

TWIN PEAKS: THE RETURN (2017)
PART 9: THIS IS THE CHAIR
audrey is getting closer now that we saw johnny. this episode very much had its focus on major briggs and his death and now this palace they have to go to, to find out what happened to cooper. having the code reveal that there is two coopers. i also completely forgot about william hastings, i just feel like so much plot and characters were introduced that are all kinda confusing and somewhat connected that i am forgetting what has happened and am trying to catch up as the story continues. but this episode started to connect all the plots and has started to make it easier to get what is going on. AND SKY FERRERIA?!
PART 10: LAURA IS THE ONE
ok why is audrey's son literally the devil reincarnate. he is the worst, i hope he dies from attacking miriam then to mrs horne and johnny. something else that is sad to see as well is shelly's daughter has succumbed to the same fate as shelly when she was with leo. and of course nadine and her drapes! love that its going well for her. and again i just feel as though there is so many characters to keep track of that we don't get enough time for each character and what they deserve honestly. omg and the scene with cole remembering laura!

TWIN PEAKS: THE RETURN (2017)
PART 7: THERE'S A BODY ALL RIGHT
i sos so so so loved the final scene of this episode in the diner with the cozy lighting and music. very reminiscent. in this episode we find laura palmers missing pages except for one of them, and we see trumans cool ass desk. then onto major briggs whose prints are found on a body that doesn't match his description? i feel as though we are seeing glimpses of the real coop shining through dougie now. first with the coffee then having an interest in the police badge and then knowing what to do when the guy comes charging at him with a gun. it's almost like cooper is trying to get through but is stuck.
PART 8: GOTTA LIGHT?
as weird and absurd and confusing as this episode seems at first. its so captivating and impressive and amazing that this could happen. especially as recent as this episode is - shows now are so concerned with getting viewership with getting a fanbase to get tik tok or whatever to talk about it. this episode here is just imagination and imagination and a vision. and i liked this episode. i think its so cool that as weird as it may seem it is all connected to laura palmer and more specifically as shown here; leland and sarah palmer. showing that bob was an entity of evil created and was brought upon the palmers for which is why bob hates laura is a great way of showing what we know, that bob is an entity and manifestation of evil that men do.

TWIN PEAKS: THE RETURN (2017)
PART 5: CASE FILES
dougie is literally a sim. and honestly sometimes i wish i was him, he has actually done nothing everyone just pushes him into place and he is all good and oblivious which i kinda want. ok but amanda seyfried?! how did i not know she was in this. they have some big names in here that aren't from the original damn. i did love seeing norma and shelly at the diner again, i hope we see more of their friendship because even in the original they were such cute friends. i still kinda am confused about the evil doppelganger in prison though i'm not gonna lie so i am hoping we see more of him and also that box because i haven't stopped thinking about it.
PART 6: DON'T DIE
diane reveal!!! finally and can't believe its laura dern?! again this show and the cast is insane. i will say that kid getting run over i swear i have seen that clip with like kinetic sand playing above it somewhere on the internet. i did really enjoy the music playing in the back when that guy appeared who did unfortunately kill the two ladies but its because i miss the use of sound and music in twin peaks. twin peaks used music to make it atmospheric and also as it seemed to not have a silent moment which this definitely has a lot of which can cause some scenes to drag on

TWIN PEAKS: THE RETURN (2017)
PART 3: CALL FOR HELP
this was a slower and to be frank really absurd episode. being introduced to dougie, who is from what i have gathered is the evil doppelgangers copy so he isn't sent to the black lodge. i did kinda love dougie at the casino but the more i think about the different coopers the more confused i become honestly. the only part i didn't really like was the scene about the bunnies, i don't know i thought it was kinda boring, and i really like lucy but she has become sort of a caricature of who she once was
PART 4: ...BRINGS BACK SOME MEMORIES
MICHAEL CERA LOLOLOLOL. he is such a silly guy. i definitely see him being andy's and lucy's child. i do wish that more music was incorporated into this season. the first two seasons relied heavily on always having some sort of score in the back, so much so, that i can't really think back to a time where it was silent. i hope that it starts to happen more and more in this series. i would really like to see some more about the murders that happened in front of the box and evil coop. and bobby is back. i hope we get to see some more shelly and i am patiently waiting for audrey with maybe just some cameos from ben.

TWIN PEAKS: THE RETURN (2017)
PART 1: MY LOG HAS A MESSAGE FOR YOU
omg i loved this. its still so weird and twin peaks but so fresh. this episode followed a man observing a billionaires mysterious box, while in south dakota police find a gruesome scene where matthew lillard's fingerprints are found?! i had no clue matthew lillard was in this. and hawk receives a message about dale cooper from the log lady. i loved the start and end with the giant and the black and white. also curious who the other character kyle maclachan play is. and of course its not just hawk but deputy. as it should. i will say having a look at all the episodes layed out on paramount reminds me of american horror story for some reason, but as a former avid ahs watcher and fan i am excited. also i could not imagine waiting over 25 years for a return but grateful that it even got to happen at all.
PART 2: THE STARS TURN AND A TIME PRESENTS ITSELF
yayyyy shelly is back! and james, hopefully this time he actually does something worth while. i do wonder how the box and twin peaks is connected especially because of cooper finding himself in there then leaving. kinda love how the arm is now this thing on a tree. and honestly everything about this episode didn't really make sense, which is what twin peaks is all about i have come to learn, i mean not too much happened either. if you understand you're watching it wrong i fear. i do really like the direction this return is heading and am excited to see what will unfold and also audreyyy. and how the returning characters will be and what their life is like.

TWIN PEAKS: THE MISSING PIECES (2014)
its crazy to me that all these great scenes were cut. i am so glad we were able to eventually get them but i do wish fire walk with with me was just an extended version of what we got. like i wanna see bobby crash out over baby laxatives to be honest. the deleted scenes definitely helped give context or help extend out a scene when looking back at fire walk with me. definitely enjoyed this extra content - 3.5/5 stars

TWIN PEAKS: FIRE WALK WITH ME (1992)
thank you to david lynch for creating and presenting us with this indescribable world of twin peaks. this town, even though tortuous and heinous, i seem to look at twin peaks in the same way cooper does, which is this cozy town with these quirky characters i can get lost in. this movie is the prequel to the series and follows the events before laura palmers death. before i get to laura and her tragic story, i just wanna say i was so confused at first in regards to donna. thats not my donna i fear and it was just weird honestly which is saying something because of how weird this world is. now for laura. laura has such a tragic tragic story. i am so glad that lynch decided to focus on her story, but i am eager to watch the missing pieces because i heard it creates better connections between scenes and gives context to many scenes in here, so after that i think i will have a better view of it as a whole. anyway. sheryl lee's performance was phenomenal. finding out that her father is bob was heartbreaking and even the scene at the dinner table where he insists she must wash her hands was so sad. i will say the series causes you to in a way dismiss leland for what he has done, or even see it as not as bad because he was possessed by this manifestation of the evil of man. but this film truly shows him for how disgusting and deranged he is. i am very excited to watch the missing pieces then see this in the theatres in like 2 weeks, which the cinemas make me appreciate anything even further. this series and world is heartbreaking and weird and wonderful and cozy and i am so glad i watched it. and after finishing TMP and the return i will for sure return to mulholland drive then go on a lynch marathon because surprisingly i have only seen mulholland drive of his works and that needs to change.

CONCLAVE (2024)
of course due to recent world events i felt as though watching this was suiting and also lowkey interesting. which i was surprised by honestly because growing up in catholic school it deterred me heavily from religion altogether pretty much but i did find this aspect of it interesting. this movie was very well done and beautiful to look at. this film follows the selection of a new pope with a conspiracy at the heart of it. of course ralph fiennes like always was amazing, i don't think he could ever go wrong, he really just is an amazing, consistent actor. and i also did very much enjoy stanley tucci. i particularly really loved and was engrossed into the argument between fiennes and tucci's characters where tucci just becomes so desperate trying to get lawrence to see his point of view and the fight that this selection truly is. another scene i really liked was the scenes where they sat in these blue chairs in a lecture style room - the spotlight on them was visually interesting and really pretty to look at. and also shoutout to the props costume teams. the attention to detail in both the sets, props and outfits was impressive and made the world feel so much more real and really helped me delve into the conclave. however i cannot possibly talk about this film without mentioning the fact that this truly is just another version of mean girls specifically with lawrence printing out the documents and handing them out was so regina. and of course tedesco hitting his vape was really silly. they felt so messy and they just wanted to gossip. and i say let them. but now i am curious if this is really accurate because if it is i find that funny and it probably is tbh. i did see a tweet saying that if conclave had come out this year, specifically around this time then they would have an academy award in the bag and i wholeheartedly agree, and do believe that conclave should have taken home at least one more award. - 3.5/5 stars

TWIN PEAKS S2 EP22
BEYOND LIFE AND DEATH
wow. i finished the original series. of course i still have FWWM to watch and i am going to see that in cinemas in like 2 weeks which i am excited for. i enjoyed that this episode didn't have the big wrap up and conclusion like many shows do, and i kinda like that it left me with more questions. because twin peaks and what lynch was able to do wasn't like a regular show, it confused people it subverted expectations. it's david lynch. of course the most interesting part about this episode was the red room/the black lodge. we see cooper entering and getting stuck in there as it seems time is altered once in this waiting room for the evil. cooper encounters laura/not laura where she tells him that she will see him in 25 years. meanwhile. now i did look up explanations for this hand symbol and i have come to the conclusion that laura is saying that real cooper will be stuck in the black lodge for 25 years meanwhile the hand symbol is to be known to mean fear not. reassuring him in some way. i found the black lodge to resemble the great northern in a way which i think was actually going to happen but it didn't end up happening. cooper entering different 'rooms' with different inhabitants like a hotel. i also did notice some parallels to the first episode, with bobby wearing his jacket, sarah palmer wearing a similar outfit but this time she is a messenger for bob? nadine got her memory back. this episode was great, i love the red room/black lodge even though i still don't really have a full grasp on what it symbolises and means but hopefully that some more understanding will come with FWWM, missing pieces and the return.
"lived in my head mostly."
"that's not a bad neighbourhood."

TWIN PEAKS S2 EP20&21
EPISODE 20 - THE PATH TO THE BLACK HOUSE
aaaaaa so close to the end of season 2. this episode and probably next are definitely going to set up for the big finale and wrap up and conclusion. we find out earle was removed from project blue book - the one major briggs is involved in. in which briggs has really been going through it. does bobby even know anything that has happened to him LOL? speaking of bobby though he realised that he was fumbling a baddie and he had to check himself. and we find out the map in the owl cave is actually a map to the black lodge. i am curious about miss twin peaks and who is going to win and potentially die, i would not be surprised if lana did end up dying because she won by her husband. also what is up with that lady in the diner and cooper shaking? catherine and andrew find a silver block in the box, is that also somehow connected? and of course at the end of the episode, the giant is back trying to deter cooper from allowing annie running for miss twin peaks which i would not be surprised if she was killed either and finally with the ending revealing bob is back.
EPISODE 21 - MISS TWIN PEAKS
i can feel the end nearing. this episode we see that leo has started to recognise and want shelly to be safe? which is funny because he used to want to hurt her so i wonder why he has changed his mind. of course the mention of the black lodge, with it holding the evil within the town. and the potential key being the one in the silver box eckhardt had left. cooper and harry found out about the bonsai while briggs is tweaking out and now that i think about it they just left him in the station alone? but i do believe briggs will play an important part in the finale in some way based on the words he was mumbling under his breath. now i will say i was a bit distracted by miss twin peaks because donna and shelly looked so so good, speaking of donna but ben horne is her father? and the final scene when earle had turned the lights off, when they started to flash and everything was so chaotic and disorientating i thought that was actually so sick and was amazing visually, and like i guessed annie has been taken. i honestly could not come up with any idea of what the finale will reveal or hold but that just makes it more fun to watch and find out for myself.

SINNERS (2025)
!!!SPOILERS AHEAD!!!
set in 1932 two brothers, both played by michael b jordan, return to their hometown to start again only to discover something evil is lurking. sinners was an amazing movie. of course the first hour is setting up every character and although it did drag on a little bit, i was waiting for the horror to begin but this is the only gripe i had with the film. beside from the pacing at the start everything else was so good. all the performances were amazing, i will say i was very aware in the first 10 min that michael b jordan played both brothers but after we met and got an idea of which brother is which it disappeared and felt somewhat real. when i saw that miles caton was being introduced, i was astounded honestly, because he was amazing, not only was his performance amazing but his singing too. do not even get me started on the music. of course this movie centres around music specifically blues, and focuses on the transcendence of music through generations and to other beings, which ultimately ties into the vampires with their connectedness and being able to see each others memories and therefore the interconnection between generations within the vampires as well. i loved the way ryan coogler was able to make this story about race, about discrimination, about inequality into the way he did and he did a fantastic job. especially considering this was his first original film. this movie was so interesting not even just entertainment wise, but historically. i have been looking up historical background and references in this movie and have learnt so much and i would love to look into it further. which i believe is a great sign of a movie, especially one as historical and important as this one. i will say though i am quite fascinated by the irish vampire, remmick. i was not as aware that the irish were also taken and discriminated against in similar ways to african americans around the same time, although the irish's time was temporary. and so the added layer of remmick being irish and the scene were he told them that he knew what was happening to them was a great way to tie the two together. and i would honestly love a dive into the world of the irish as well, and i think also just the irish culture is also as fascinating as the southern black culture that was just poured throughout this film, i think it would be a really cool way to parallel this story into the origins potentially of this cult/clan. i also learnt that around this time - the prohibition and jim crow era that african americans and asian americans actually had an allyship; in that asian americans were seen as "higher" than african americans but "less" than white americans, meaning that asian americans were able to help out because they were allowed to own their own shops but flew under the radar because they weren't seen as equal. of course i cannot talk about this movie without talking about the scene were sammie begins to play a song in the juke joint, with ancestors throughout generations and chinese dancers joining in to create this one big beautiful song and dance that truly shows how music is this entity of its own that shapes the way cultures and generations are and how it connects them all no matter how far they have strayed from a specific culture or lifestyle or way of living with then the blatant cut to remmick when he sings the rocky road to dublin. and of course another favourite scene of mine is the opening scene. i loved the aesthetic of the church as a background to this evil entity that was attached to the music in which sammie carried the pieces of in his hand, i thought this was beautiful. even just the whole southern gothic aesthetic was so so beautiful and i want more movies like this, it was just amazing, i cannot stop thinking about it and praising it honestly. i could watch deep dives into this movie and talk about the historical nature of this movie for so long so i think i will leave it here for now. this was truly one of the best movies i have seen in the cinema in such a long time. bring original films and stories back! - 4.5/5 stars

BLACK MIRROR S7 EP5&6
EPISODE 5 - EULOGY
this black mirror episode followed a man who is able to step inside old photographs where goes back to follow the woman he once loved who has now passed. paul gimatti was of course wonderful, i really liked him in the holdovers and in this he was great. it was a great story of memory and the one who got away but i will say that it wasn't as interesting as other black mirror episodes. i found it to be truly engaging at the end. i really have mixed feelings because even though i did get bored at some points i thought the story was nice. but it did seem like they made this right after the eternal sunshine album came out cause like yeah. - 3/5 stars
EPISODE 6 - USS CALLISTER: INTO INFINITY
wow. the ending of this season of black mirror was so good. i was a fan of the previous USS callister episode but was not as hardcore as everyone else seemed to be so i wasn't that excited going into this episode. but 10 minutes in i realised my mistake. this was really fun and engaging and honestly did a great job of making sure we remembered the story and then continuing it on from there, because i remembered nothing from the last one before starting. i enjoyed all the characters and their dynamic on the ship and of course them watching the real housewives. this was a great ending to this season which was honestly lackluster compared to last season i am not going to lie but not every season or episode can be a hit. - 4/5 stars

TWIN PEAKS S2 EP18&19
EPISODE 18 - ON THE WINGS OF LOVE
this episode we get some great gordon cole. we also find that earle is trying to spy through a bonsai, harry was also nearly murdered but halfway through i forgot that even happened because it had no true impact really but cooper is back in the fbi. i am excited for the lead up and the event of miss twin peaks and what will happen between donna, audrey and shelly. speaking of shelly, cole was so real for being so infatuated with shelly because same honestly. and how she cured his hearing. oh and of course james just dropping a letter of resignation from twin peaks, except he has been so irrelevant that his absence made no difference. the cave however is really interesting and i am curious what the petroglyph means and what is in this owl cave.
EPISODE 19 - VARIATIONS ON RELATIONS
getting close to the end of the season now. i am curious how the show is going to wrap up because this is the last season for however many years it was until the return. of course miss twin peaks will be a big deal but i do wonder if more things will occur etc. we do find out earl intends to find the black lodge and that the poem he sent to shelly was the same poem cooper made to caroline. oh and i did have a little giggle when bobby realised that being pretty gives you an advantage he found out about pretty privilege in that moment. i do wonder if they are going to bring josie back in some way, considering how she died. and in regards to the box eckhardt left that has the zodiac signs in it? but we do also know that briggs saw the petroglyph when he was taken by the light/owls or whatever or whoever took him. leading me to believe that everything is somehow connected to that cave and whoever/whatever resides there, or created it.
