an interesting piece of lolita history has popped up for sale a couple of months ago - a nearly 40 year old cutsew with a "Pretty" (Angelic Pretty) tag, but a "Baby The Stars Shine Bright" on the care instructions tag inside.
Back then, AP was a select shop called "Pretty" that resold other brands, it wasn't until the rebrand to Angelic Pretty in 2001 where they began to produce and sell only their own clothing designs. The seller guesses that this is "probably clothes that were created before BABY, THE STARS SHINE BRIGHT became independent as a brand and was sold under the Pretty tag" - something so rare as to have both an AP/Pretty tag and BTSSB tag, in near-perfect condition; this should be donated to a museum!!

Horror Candy Shop by Angelic Pretty! I feel like this is one of my grail dresses.
It’s made of crepe de chine. I honestly prefer synthetic fabrics for my dresses for care reasons - this was bagged up for a while but didn’t need anything special to look great on the mannequin.
I picked this up from a comm member for a steal. It doesn’t have any accessories but I hope to make some! I bought a fabric that I thought was dead stock but was actually replica :( Now that I actually own the print though I don’t feel so bad about making accessories with it.
The petticoat on the mannequin is 17.8”.
My favorite feature is the bat collar on the bodice! It’s so cute.
