E.A. Deverell - FREE worksheets (characters, world building, narrator, etc.) and paid courses;

Hiveword - Helps to research any topic to write about (has other resources, too);

BetaBooks - Share your draft with your beta reader (can be more than one), and see where they stopped reading, their comments, etc.;

Charlotte Dillon - Research links;

Writing realistic injuries - The title is pretty self-explanatory: while writing about an injury, take a look at this useful website;

One Stop for Writers - You guys... this website has literally everything we need: a) Description thesaurus collection, b) Character builder, c) Story maps, d) Scene maps & timelines, e) World building surveys, f) Worksheets, f) Tutorials, and much more! Although it has a paid plan ($90/year | $50/6 months | $9/month), you can still get a 2-week FREE trial;

One Stop for Writers Roadmap - It has many tips for you, divided into three different topics: a) How to plan a story, b) How to write a story, c) How to revise a story. The best thing about this? It's FREE!

Story Structure Database - The Story Structure Database is an archive of books and movies, recording all their major plot points;

National Centre for Writing - FREE worksheets and writing courses. Has also paid courses;

Penguin Random House - Has some writing contests and great opportunities;

Crime Reads - Get inspired before writing a crime scene;

The Creative Academy for Writers - "Writers helping writers along every step of the path to publication." It's FREE and has ZOOM writing rooms;

Reedsy - "A trusted place to learn how to successfully publish your book" It has many tips, and tools (generators), contests, prompts lists, etc. FREE;

QueryTracker - Find agents for your books (personally, I've never used this before, but I thought I should feature it here);

Pacemaker - Track your goals (example: Write 50K words - then, everytime you write, you track the number of the words, and it will make a graphic for you with your progress). It's FREE but has a paid plan;

Save the Cat! - The blog of the most known storytelling method. You can find posts, sheets, a software (student discount - 70%), and other things;

From a dark place

[Trigger warning: self harm, suicide attempt]

She had never been strong. Even after everything she had gone through, she was still as frail and sensitive as the thinnest piece of glass. Ready to be broken again, at the will of whomever wanted to crash her with the fists of thoughtlessness, despise and hurt.

So, so many times she had tried to hold it together. To bite the bullet. To keep it civil. To hold the pieces she barely had glued together and already were crumbling between her fingers, once again.

It was just too much. If what a person can endure in a lifetime was somehow measured by the eldest, she felt she had carried pain enough for a five lives. And still —still not strong enough.

Did it matter? Did she matter? Beyond the smiles, the shy recognition, the tolerance, did anyone see her for who she really was? Was she so unworthy that no one was there for her while she was trying so hard to be whoever they wanted?

Does anybody know me?

The weight of the answer pushed the blade through the flesh. It wasn't unbearable. If anything, she welcomed the familiar feeling that stopped the endless rant screaming in her ears. But this time she pushed harder, deeper. Not as if it was planned, but suddenly it all made sense. It was actually the only thing that did. The warmth that sailed on her skin towards her fingertips was nice, calm. She sat down on the border of the bathtub and repeated the same motion again, and again. And then the other wrist. Again, and again.

Slowly, she slid inside the tub and looked at the ceiling. The tears kissed her temples and stuck a few strands of wet hair to her skin. The fluorescent light of the bathroom became too bright, the air a tad too cold, the darkness too inviting.

She, who had fought her whole life to pull through, to clean up the ashes of the fires others burnt, to sow new seeds and nurtured them to see them flower only for them to be stomped on again, and again. She had always had this thought in the back of her mind since she was a little girl. She was not made for this world. It was too hard, too hurtful, too indelicate.

She was already drifting away into that cozy slumber when far away, further than she could've reached, the door trembled.

“Claire? Claire! Let me in!! Claire!!!”

She took a last look at the hinges barely holding on and sighed.

“Go to hell.”

Hi everybody!

I’m slowly getting back in the mood of continuing my fanfics here, so thank you all for bearing with me these past months of complete and utter drought.

I’ve been rummaging an idea I had some time ago and I’d love to execute, but I really need your cooperation with it. I’d love to write something… where you are the ones deciding what’s going to happen next. I’d give you a few choices at the end of every chapter and you can decide where the story goes by voting.

I could not leave him, and I would not. “Jamie,” I said, into the folds of his plaid. “I’m going back with you.” He started back, staring down at me. “The hell you are!” he said. “I am.” I felt very calm, with no trace of doubt. “I can make a kilt of my arisaid; there are enough young boys with the army that I can pass for one. You’ve said yourself it will all be confusion. No one will notice.” “No!” he said. “No, Claire!” His jaw was clenched, and he was glaring at me with a mixture of anger and horror.

“If you’re not afraid, I’m not either,” I said, firming my own jaw. “It will … be over quickly. You said so.” My chin was beginning to quiver, despite my determination. “Jamie—I won’t … I can’t … I bloody won’t live without you, and that’s all!” He opened his mouth, speechless, then closed it, shaking his head. The light over the mountains was failing, painting the clouds with a dull red glow. At last he reached for me, drew me close and held me.

“D’ye think I don’t know?” he asked softly. “It’s me that has the easy part now. For if ye feel for me as I do for you—then I am asking you to tear out your heart and live without it.” His hand stroked my hair, the roughness of his knuckles catching in the blowing strands. “But ye must do it, mo nighean donn. I have compiled all of the Outlander scenes I’ve enhanced into a handy list below. Organized in chronological order and broken up by season. I hope it is useful. Enhanced just means brightened, but it all started out with the Episode 2x04 sex scene, which I did spend a long time enhancing to remove the blue tint.
