Samhain ideas if you’re just too exhausted
It’s no secret that seasonal depression paired with a pandemic take a toll on a lot of people. Sometimes we also just feel exhausted, we have too little time or just too little motivation to do big rituals or fancy ceremonies. Here is for everyone who doesn’t have the energy at the moment but still wants to celebrate this holiday. Blessed Samhain to you all!
- Eat an apple. Apples aren’t just symbols of Samhain, they also represent beauty, the divine, immortality and healing.
- Set an extra plate at dinner tonight. An easy gesture to show your ancestors or other passing souls that they are welcome and honored in your home.
- Meditate a few minutes before sleeping. You don’t need to take time out of your day to meditate, just use the last few minutes before you fall asleep to remind yourself of the things you are grateful for and what you would like to let go of.
- Open your windows wide. It doesn’t have to be an hour-long walk in nature all the time. Open your window and welcome the new cycle with all its prosperity and the healing it will bring you.
- Leave water and/or your crytsals somewhere where the moonlight reaches them tonight. Tonight is full of energy anyways but the blue moon boosts this a lot more. Your crystals and the water will hold this energy for later when you feel you have enough energy to use them.
- Place an offering on your windowsill. It can be a piece of bread, a glass of wine, some honey or a little milk. But whoever passes by will appreciate being able to strengthen themselves for their way back home. I hope these will help some of you, feel free to add and reblog!

When you’re just starting your path, it’s important to remember witchcraft is not all initiations and intricate daily schedules and concoctions. After you’ve found or rediscovered the craft, a bird is still a bird, and a bad day is still just a bad day. Unless you’re asking for specific signs or you actually crossed someone, you shouldn’t go out of your way to assign deeper meanings to every pebble or pelt in your field of sight. You may stumble; you may fall. But it is likely not at all due to an external or divine force that has noticed and singled you out. This may be a tough pill to swallow for some, but those minor slip ups, those bumbling, stumbling steps, are just part of the natural progression of things. All beginnings have their unique struggles and growing pains. I’d suggest focusing on building up a solid foundation before searching for a journey or destination. There’s no rush. There’s no cosmic destiny or balance that’s waiting for you to come into your own. Take your time and cultivate patience and discernment over all else.

Shout-out to godspouses who are married to super obscure gods and never see others in the community with their same spouse.
Shout-out to godspouses who are married to one of the really popular gods and see their fellow godspouses in the tag all the time.
It’s nonsense to think either would be more valid than the other.

Hi! I've always been drawn to Loki but I'm very much a baby in this community. I've done some research and it all seems like so much. My mind consistently turns to wanting to start working with Loki, however, I can't figure out where and how to start. Any pointers? Thanks! -Eli
Welcome!
It is a lot, and it's totally valid to be overwhelmed. Try to take things one step at a time, at your own pace, starting with whatever is most appealing and least daunting to you.
For example, if you really like the idea of having an altar, you could start by clearing a space on your dresser and placing a candle and offering bowl there. If you like the idea of praying regularly, you could start saying a few words about whatever's on your mind each morning. You don't have to start big, and you definitely don't have to start everything at once!
If you're totally lost on what you could even work towards, we have an FAQ with suggestions on how to get started. And we're here to answer any further questions or make specific suggestions if you're still feeling overwhelmed.
