Guys,I can't do this anymore. I've kept my mouth shut too long. For those who know me,I'm a pretty chill person. I don't usually complain or get into stuff too often,I keep it to myself,but I just can't anymore. I don't care if you unfollow me or not after this,I DO NOT CARE!! I can't keep this in anymore. TW:mentions of abuse, drugs,and illegal practices. Read at your own risk.

So,when I first started riding horses,I thought riding was all sunshine and rainbows everywhere. I started watching Raleigh Link and that all changed. First it was Big Lick,which is illegal in all states. I'm sure people still do this. It involves soring,which is also illegal in all states. What is soring you may ask? Well in short its where harmful things are done to the horse. They'll either put certain chemicals on or a type of shoe which hurt the horse. When a horse hurts they paw. Riders will ride the horses this way and because of the pain they take higher steps. This is called the Big Lick. Its generally practiced in Tennessee Walking horses because they take a bit higher of steps. The Big Lick looks ugly,so I have no clue why someone would want it and the practice is sickening.

The next thing I'm going to be talking about is horse racing. People may not think horse racing is a big deal,but it really is. The horses are taught to push against pressure on the reins. I'm not saying that's a bad thing, as long as the rider isn't pulling tremendously. If the rider pulls a lot,it hurts the horse. It'll put pressure on the nasal bones and the mouth. Horses nasal bones are thin. The pressure is constant. If the rider uses enough pressure,it can easily fracture the nasal bones. Pressure on the mouth is like biting your tongue for a while. It hurts a lot,but they have it the whole race. The riders also will tie their tongues to "keep them from choking" during such strenuous activities. If it wasn't so strenuous, maybe they wouldn't have to. There's also an excessive use of the crop. How would you like to be whipped while running as fast as you can while getting your hair pulled and oxygen cut off from your tongue? You wouldn't like it much would you? Now you may think,but they're just animal,but they have feelings too. Keeping them alive during this is torture. Not to mention,multiple horses get bred,but only one used. What happens to the other horses bred? They most likely get killed,I'm not saying they do for sure,but they probably do.

Up next is barrel racing. I probably have the least beef with barrel racing. I still have beef though. Like with horse racing,there's excessive whipping often,and excessive use of spurs. They sometimes drug the horses as well. Barrel horses are worked the same pattern all the time. This often makes them insane. It's like saying the same word over and over all day every day. You'll start to hate that word. Horses that run the barrels often panic when they do something else,including just walking straight. This causes a lot of problems for the horse. Whipping and spurring can damage the skin and nerve endings. It can also cause trauma to the horse.

Horse jumping. You may think,oh horses are made to jump. True,but show jumping causes the horse to jump higher than they should. It can cause them to have torn ligaments and muscles. Landing from such heights also can hurt the legs of the horses. Horses,like probably every sport,are drugged. Riders drug the horses to jump higher. A practice with the same sort of result as soring can be used to make the horse jump higher. Horses are often whipped in jumping also. Again,this can damage skin and nerve endings. Horse's skin is thinner than our skin.

Bucking horses,a classic at the rodeo, can be abusive. The horse's flank is sensitive. They often use a strap,almost like a girth,around the flank,which makes the horse buck. The horses buck because of discomfort,like trying to escape the discomfort. A common problem with bucking horses is torn ligaments or muscles. Broken bones can also occur.

This is all I have to say, for now. I'm sure there are many more problems in horse sports and more abusive horse sports. I couldn't handle staying quiet anymore though.
