Always ready to kill, never prepared to heal. One time I found a fire extinguisher...I connected it to my backpack...it got tons of people to randomly talk to me asking why I would have it... In case of emergencies of course...you have dudes packing heat like they'll shoot down a bad guy somewhere...but they don't have a fire extinguisher... Maybe the gun is actually just there to give them confidence...if they really cared about saving lives they would be more apt to carry tools meant to save lives instead of take lives. The fire extinguisher I had didn't work though...so I guess my whole stance was kinda bullshit...but...it is the thought that counts... ...or is it? George Loyd had a knee taken on his throat for about the equivalent of 5-6 singings of the National Anthem. Ahmad Aubrey was shot down unarmed in the streets in February and the trash humans that killed him were only just recently arrested months later. The killer of Trayvon Martin auctioned his gun off for 250,000 dollars. The injustices go on, and on, and on...and there are so many that we don't even know about. We are currently in a pandemic and many people are out of work and struggling to make ends meet on top of all these injustices. It really shouldn't be surprising there is looting and violence. We are told the ABCs are in that order because that's how they were handed down to us. It is weird how the vowels just seem randomly placed when you say the ABCs or see them written vertically...however if you view the alphabet written around a circle you notice the vowels are symmetrically placed...not just the vowels though...also the three letters shaped like the number 3...More than merely symmetrical placing as there is mathematical logic behind the placement as well. The order has been there almost 400 years and no one has said anything. The first picture in this group of pictures is two of my drawings combined using a computer then the snake swallowing its tail is a diagram by Abrams & Primack. The colors in the #ABCMandala are all based off of RGB & CMY color mixing. I plan on doing a video or two on this today talking about different writing systems and some simple math. Watching the movie Arrival and/or YouTube videos of Stan Tennen might help make a little bit of sense of my work... Domestic Violence...from my earliest work back in 2010...the piece started out random with no meaning then slowly came together...it is an blind folded angry pregnant man swinging a first at a scared woman holding a rabbit. Tongue and cheek title of "Don't Knock Her Out Unless She Knocks You Up"...or "Pregnant With Blinding Rage" I have prints of this piece...I think I still have the original, I just have to find it again. I remember the start of this piece well...just sitting there looking at the paper telling myself I was goingto draw the best picture I could without having any idea what I was drawing. You can practice social distancing while creating with sidewalk chalk. You can either be artistic, educational, political, whatever. A mask and gloves are a good safe choice if you're doing it in dirty city streets but if you're in the country in a park the fresh air might be nice. In your own drive way you make the call. No need to get close to anyone or interact with them so that you can keep true to your social distancing safety precautions...just leave something inspiring behind... Consider doing it by tall buildings of old people, young people, and sick people. The joy your beauty provides might strengthen someone's smile and, maybe it is just wishful thinking, but maybe it will even be enough to strengthen someone's immune system even the slightest little bit. Check different hashtags and see what other people are doing already #sidewalkchalkart #sidewalkchalk #crayolasidewalkchalk ...like...it isn't a viral idea or anything...but it could spread... #DALLAS! I'll be in your city by 11am today! I've been staying low key for the past half year just creating out in #LongviewTx and now I'm ready to turn up a little bit!
