#i’m so embarrased. if i’d known it was a ya book and if i’d known it was tiktok-famous and not very good then i Wouldn’t have made that post#ramblings#jumping on to the mdzs sideblog to complain about a terrible fantasy novel#not terrible. but not good.#i had such high expectations#and if you read the quote you can see why!! it's shit and i wish i'd never read it because the lost potential makes me so sad#i found out only after finishing it and wondering why it got such good reviews#that it got popular on tiktok#and the author has an active ao3 account#i could ignore this book and forget it happened if not for the huge number of people saying 'they're all gay for each other!'#an argument could be made that there was no real queerness at all#get some standards#we deserve better rep than whatever that shit was
