opinion on Louis X Zelkov fe engage (i luv how u draw them btw)

Like as a ship? Gotta be honest, I don't think it's ever crossed my mind. Engage not having paired endings kinda sunk a lot of ships for me tbh 😭. I do like their support chain though and how it reveals a little bit about both of their backgrounds. Plus, Louis did carry the whole team for me, so he is allowed to have as many tea bonding events as he desires.

Hi! :3 Recently I was admiring again that Jarod piece you gave me for Art Scuffle, and then I also saw the art you did for that one Pelleas and Soren fic. I already thought your art was amazing but I was just blown away by the softness, the colors, the expressiveness! Your art is PHENOMENAL, and I know this is probably not really something that can be answered, but do you have any tips, or like particular inspirations it would be good to study?

Hi Renee!! I'm so sorry for the decades long delayed response ;; I hope you've been doing well! This is going to be a long response so:

Firstly, thank you! I'm flattered you think so highly of my art. The irony of you asking me this while I'm going through a bit of an art block though😭 This is going to be a boring answer but tbh my inspiration is just...people? Like I have a fairly hefty "art reference" folder of just screen-caps of characters from shows, mangas and video games I've enjoyed. I'd be in the middle of watching, get to a particular shot that makes me go "hey, I've been struggling to draw that pose/expression" and I'll bookmark it for later. I also like to collect concept art books of things I've enjoyed. Even if I don't use everything, I just have this large chaotic library of things to look back on to possibly motivate me. So I guess there's not really a particular source but just a combination of stuff I've accumulated over the years, if that makes sense? 😅

If you want to get better at drawing a particular thing, this might be obvious, but you'll want to study that "thing". So if you're struggling with proportions, you'll want to study people. Landscapes: look at photos you took outside. But it doesn't need to be a monumental task. I take pictures of my own hands, for example, when I want to practice drawing hands.

As for coloring (and art style), I draw a lot of inspiration from (surprise surprise) Senri Kita. Looking at her art helps me figure out how I'd want to color or shade something (and also how to draw muscles...she's really good at drawing muscles). When that isn't enough, I have my reference folder for other coloring techniques. This isn't a tip though, I find coloring to be a stylistic preference. Imo, coloring is the fun part that you kind of discover for yourself. There can be as many or as little rules as you want.

Anyways, this is getting long but the gist of it is that you don't have to look hard or far for inspiration. Your studies should just target the things that you want to draw better. I am self-taught though so just take all of this with a grain of salt. I hope I did answer your question though?? 😅😅😅

The Rustling Scent of A World Unseen

One day while on his way home from kendo class, Ike followed a strange crow straight into another world, where he has no knowledge of where he is or how to return home. The only person he can rely on is the mysterious yet kind boy with dark hair and red eyes who he met in the depths of the Gallian Forest. Together, they’ll come to trust and care for one another along the way, especially once it becomes clear that both of them are much more deeply entangled in the fate of Tellius than they’d ever expected.

A fusion with an old shojo manga from the nineties, Ike must navigate his way through a world where he does not know the language and the very fact that he is from another world puts him in danger. Between the prejudices of Tellius and the mysterious prophecy surrounding him and Soren, it will be up to the two of them to find a way for Ike to return home once more. Good evening bitches, bros and non binary hoes! The @ikesorenbigbang is finally underway!

To be honest, I didn’t think I would make it back in February (I broke my ankle and was in the hospital for most of the month). Luckily, I had great partners for this event ^^.

@admirableadmiranda really hit a home run with her fic. The Rustling Scent of a World Unseen mixes elements of action, adventure and romance spun into so many moving and fun scenes, I almost couldn’t pick which scenes to rep.

Here’s to you, Addie, for actually crushing it. I loved working with you on this. Cheers, my friend!
