this is a thought i had ages ago but i feel like people often referred to/thought of ckarlnapity as the sugar sweet, simple one of quackity’s relationships (and used that to imply he needed something “deeper” and more complex) and imo that’s just a dead giveaway for not actually knowing or caring about their dynamic. like yeah karlnap were the only ones who treated quackity well without an agenda LMAO but that doesn’t mean they didn’t have their own problems and nuances— they were riddled with insecurity and communication issues! despite being separated longer than they were together their relationship echoed in all three individual stories for the entire rest of the dsmp!— you just think they were shallow because they didn’t hate each other
