No matter how progressive or well-read you are, there are always going to be moments in your life where somebody pushes back against something that's so culturally ingrained you never even considered it before. And you'll say "Huh, it never occurred to me to challenge this but you're right" and that doesn't mean you were "morally toxic" before, it means you're a non-omniscient human capable of growth.

Wormwedded, congealing dark, have we lost faith in each other? I understand now that to love the whole world is impossible, a disservice; a lie we tell ourselves like a god behind a curtain. But then what will coax me out, what will remind me of my own weightlessness? How small and common I am? The eternity boiled to the head of a pin I am out of dreams, and even the word blue rings hollow.

And I hope you guys realize the death toll in Gaza has likely been massively underreported for the past couple of months due to Israel wiping out their whole infrastructure and presumably making it more or less impossible to take any sort of body count. It’s officially hovered around 30k for ages now but that doesn’t make sense because we haven’t seen anything actually change, in fact Israel’s assaults have only escalated and they’ve been very transparent about that. The actual death toll could be like 60, 75k right now and we would not know
